Stayed here last year and thought I'd come back to the same place. Wasn't quite as good as I remembered, but good for the price.
First impressions of the room was that it was great except the cleaning wasn't quite on point - first thing I saw in the bathroom was a used tooth pick on the side next to the sink and the big chair had 2 dead insects on it.
Facilities are otherwise good, but I didn't remember the TV being this bad. Booked up via some old school antenna and not a single channel was HD. Even the ones with an HD logo were SD and blurry. Everything else is great and handy that they have 2 washing machines and 2 dryers (free apart from $30 for detergent) although one person had hogged both dryers so I had a long wait before I could use a drying machine.
Location is fantastic. Easy to walk to most of the sights, and right in the middle of loads of cool food places, even if most of them always seem to be shut!

They have kindly upgraded us to rooms next to elevator with balcony for better ventilation. Even at lower level the view of Taipei is unbeatable. We like the wooden floor much better.
Because of renovation at the separate bldg, they’ve used strong aroma to cover the smell. That side has carpet floor which will suit some of the travellers.
A few boutiques at main bldg, selling special fashion & accessories.
Hope we could stay for longer next time to read the exhibition at V floor. Those are precious history of how the hotel has developed since 1940s.
Buses to Jiantan only operates on weekends- we as Japanese cannot read the sign & waited in the wind for 10+ min. Luckily a lady asked the concierge & figured out what’s going on. We took taxi instead.
FX Inn Hotel in Kaohsiung offers a sense of comfort and tranquility. While the rooms are not luxurious in size, they are thoughtfully arranged—bright, clean, and well-kept.
The beds are soft yet supportive, allowing guests to wake up refreshed after a restful night. The bathroom and overall environment are equally spotless, with attention to detail that reflects genuine care.
The service is another highlight. Staff members are consistently polite, wearing warm smiles and responding promptly to requests. Whether during check-in, check-out, or handling everyday inquiries, they go about their duties with professionalism and attentiveness, creating a truly welcoming atmosphere.

The location is fantastic and very convenient for transport. I do wish the front desk staff could provide a bit more explanation and service. While SOPs are important for workflows, a little extra clarification would make the experience feel warmer. Thank you.
For a hotel in Taiwan, the exterior is quite impressive, and the rooms are very large and spacious. They are fully equipped. However, the toilet is quite old, and the flush pressure is so weak that it often doesn't flush properly. Public transport access from the hotel is very convenient, with direct buses to the High-Speed Rail (HSR) station. There are also many local eateries nearby. For under 400 RMB in Taiwan, staying at this hotel offers excellent value for money.

We arrived at the hotel and were warmly welcomed by the staff, who directed us to park in the underground garage. Check-in was quick and easy, and the room was clean and spacious enough. Bed was comfortable. The hotel is in a great location, close to Chiayi’s main sights, although there isn’t much to do immediately around the hotel itself.

The new front-desk guy was really kind and supportive. Unlike other female worker or his in-charge manager, he tried all his best to help us solve the problem that we encountered
Room was clean but we got bitten by mosquitos…

The room is spacious, and all amenities are provided except for toothbrushes, which you'll need to bring yourself. A deposit of NT$1000 is required upon check-in, payable in cash or by card. The hotel is conveniently located near Taipei Main Station, with easy access to the Taipei Metro, Taoyuan Metro, banks, and Shin Kong Mitsukoshi Department Store, making it great for shopping. You can check in with your passport, and the hotel staff are very friendly and helpful. You can add breakfast for an additional NT$580 (discounted rate), and the breakfast is quite good. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel.

Sun Moon Lake is literally at the hotel's doorstep, so close you could practically fish from it. Ita Thao Pier is conveniently located right next door. The hotel's interior is entirely adorned with cypress wood, creating a delightful natural aroma throughout. Furthermore, both the cable car station and the main commercial district are just a short 10-minute walk away.

The two queen beds in the room is smaller than expected (we measured the two beds at 150cm x 188cm)
The rooms and inside the hotel can be cleaner as it is a “5 star” hotel.
The food at Thai Restaurant is normal (nothing special).
The salad bar at the morning buffet is good. I think the location is good. The parking lot is far…. You might have to walk 5 minutes back to the front entrance if the parking spots at the front are taken (usually are and we went during low season).
Overall, this hotel offers its services and products like a 4 star hotel rather than “5 stars”.

JJess BellamyFabulous view from the rooms and very polite and efficient staff. Our cleaner Jason did a great job. The hotel shows its age in some of its faculties like the pool and the lack of power points but it was still a very comfortable stay.

GGuest UserLocation is pretty good. Walking distance from Huanbei/Laojie River metro, about 10mins? Convenient stores avail near the hotel as well. It's v close to Zhongli Night Market, just about 3-5mins walk away. The king size bed can fit 2 pax comfortably. The room is also spacious for 3 of us, we could open up 2x big luggages and still have lots of walking space. I value bigger room esp when we have more ppl, for this price and such a big room, I think its really worth it. Basic amenities are all avail. Overall cleaniness wise, not too bad, only the 'sofa' (?) area had a bit of stain, everything else no visible dirt. My 2nd time staying here, 1st time was almost 10 years ago haha. Staffs are also helpful, thank you (:
台台灣娜娜The room was fully equipped with smart features, and although some of the devices were a bit clunky, it still made for a fantastic experience. The sound system was great, and the room itself was large and comfortable! The communal activity area even had a waterslide! While it was on the smaller side, even I, a 'big kid' at 168cm, had a blast on it. The ground-floor terrace pool was huge and wonderful, offering plenty of Instagrammable seating. There was even a separate smaller pool area! It's absolutely perfect for a family getaway with children, and the soundproofing is excellent, so you never have to worry about disturbing anyone. The in-room hot spring was superb! The tub was so spacious it felt like it could easily accommodate five people. The only minor downside was the bed, which was quite firm. However, for those who prefer a firm mattress, it's a major plus and a refreshing change from hotels that only feature soft beds.
JJO.DSOverall a pleasant stay. Staff are polite and pleasant, the dried tomatoes at L5 is good. 😊 only hair dryer, handwash, body wash and 2in1 shampoo/conditioner provided in room so be sure so bring your other toiletries if you need!
Pros 😊
- fuss free check in (room was ready ahead of check in time so recep let us in)
- water dispenser avail (don’t have to buy your water) and 2 bottles in room daily
- small area at L5 for you to relax at with some snacks and drinks (great if you’re having a late flight and need somewhere to rest after checking out, or if you arrive early before check in)
- easy walk to xmd
- bus stop outside with buses that gets you to most places
Cons 😞
- poor sound proofing (can hear kids running down the rooms, people chatting outside, opening/closing of doors)
- room not super conducive for light sleepers. E.g there is gap between the pelmet and curtain so once the sun rises, the light will shine into the room, your room will not be in the complete black-out state. Can bring an eye mask to help with this!
- very basic room amenities.
- slightly steep price given how basic and no-frills this hotel is.
AAlbert YC”Loved the vibe of this hotel! 😍 The design is super modern—especially the bathroom with the marble vanity and high-tech bidet (always a win!). The bedroom had cool artistic touches like the Ximen Red House print and unique metal wall art. The mood lighting made it feel super relaxing after a long day. Clean, stylish, and comfortable. Would definitely stay again!”
GGuest UserGreat breakfast, like many other guests have commented, not a huge variety but they have all the necessary ingredients for a filling breakfast buffet and all food taste good!
Swimming pool and gym are both comfortable and huge
The only problem is it isn’t too close to the metro but I come here for business trip so it’s fine for me
GGuest UserI had a pleasant stay at Sheraton Grand Taipei. The staff were very professional and spoke English well, which made communication smooth. There is a convenient luggage storage service available, which was a big help.
The room was clean and well-equipped with essentials such as a hairdryer, drinking glasses, dishes, and complimentary bottled water. However, one point to note is that the lower floor houses the main restaurant, and during lunchtime, the area gets quite busy with tour groups and other guests. As a result, food smells can linger in the elevators and even stick to your clothes when walking past. It would be great if the hotel provided air freshener spray in the room to help with this.
The location is excellent, just one stop from Taipei Main Station and within walking distance to the NanXi shopping area, making it extremely convenient for both travel and leisure.
Overall, I would definitely recommend Sheraton Grand Taipei for its great location, attentive service, and comfortable stay
