Our stay at Cloud Villa (Yunduanjingyuan Mountain View Homestay) was, without question, one of the highlights of our trip to Zhangjiajie. My friend and I stayed for four nights, and from the moment we arrived until the moment we left, we were treated with a level of warmth and hospitality that far exceeded our expectations. The homestay itself is absolutely stunning. Our room was beautifully designed and tastefully decorated, with breathtaking mountain views that we looked forward to waking up to each morning. Every detail of the room felt thoughtfully curated, and the luxurious bathtub was my favorite way to relax after long days of hiking and exploring Zhangjiajie’s incredible scenery. The service was exceptional from start to finish. After our late-night flight from Xi’an, we were greeted at the airport and driven to the homestay in a beautiful, comfortable car. Every morning we were treated to an incredible homemade breakfast prepared by their wonderful housekeeper. We got to personally choose our breakfast the evening before, and it would be freshly prepared each morning. It was delicious, filling, and the perfect way to fuel up before a day of exploring the national parks. What truly made our stay unforgettable, however, were the people. The homestay is run by an incredibly kind and generous owner who welcomed us not as customers, but as family. She took the time to get to know us, shared stories about her own life, and consistently went above and beyond to make us feel at home. The manager was equally outstanding. He was always ready to help with our luggage, answer our questions, and make sure we were comfortable throughout our stay. Since we were foreigners visiting Zhangjiajie for the first time, his assistance was invaluable. He helped us arrange tickets in advance for both Tianmen Mountain and Zhangjiajie National Forest Park (the “Avatar Mountains”), and recommended optimal routes for us to take making everything incredibly smooth and stress-free. What impressed us even more was the genuine care they showed us as people. During our trip, my friend became sick, and the manager regularly checked in on her to make sure she had everything she needed to recover comfortably. Later, after I slipped and suffered a minor injury while visiting one of the parks, he showed the same sincere concern for my well-being. Their kindness never felt transactional, it was genuine. He really is quite exceptional! The owner saved the best surprise for our final day. We planned to spend the day at Tianmen Mountain before heading directly to the airport. Rather than having us store our luggage in a crowded locker facility, she generously offered to drive us to the park, keep our luggage safely in her own car throughout the day, and then take us directly to the airport afterward. That alone would have been incredibly thoughtful. But then she surprised us again! Before taking us to the airport, she prepared a wonderful homemade meal featuring fresh oysters, shrimp, eggplant, mixed vegetables, and rice! It was one of the most memorable meals of our trip, not only because it was delicious, but because it was prepared with such genuine generosity and care. We left for our flight with full stomachs and even fuller hearts. Because of the incredible hospitality we experienced at Cloud Villa, our time in Hunan became even more memorable than we could have imagined. There are many accommodations with beautiful rooms, but it is rare to find people who make you feel so genuinely welcomed and cared for. She even gave us cute parting gifts to commemorate our stay! To anyone, especially international travelers, planning a visit to Zhangjiajie, I cannot recommend Cloud Villa enough! If I ever return to the area, there is no question about where I’ll stay. I’ll gladly return not only for the beautiful accommodations, but to visit the wonderful people who made us feel like family. Thank you for making our trip truly unforgettable!

The hotel fully lived up to our expectations! The view from the room was absolutely breathtaking. The smart room controls were very convenient and easy to use. The hotel grounds are lovely, with scenic walking paths and swings that create a very relaxing atmosphere. Breakfast was not extremely varied, but everything was delicious — be sure to try the shaomai! In the evenings, you can order local Chinese dishes prepared by the chef. The food is excellent, although many dishes are designed for sharing and the portions are quite large. There are also snacks available at the reception desk. The weather in the park can change quickly, but the hotel sells both raincoats and shoe covers for rainy days (surprisingly useful!). The hotel also provides a shuttle to the park entrance, which is only a short distance away. I would also like to give special thanks to the hotel staff for the airport transfers and for their invaluable assistance throughout our stay. They helped us plan our sightseeing itinerary, purchase tickets, and were incredibly responsive to any questions we had — whether about the room or even our travel plans during the day. Their support made our trip much easier and more enjoyable. Thank you so much ❤️ When planning the trip, I recommend allowing at least two full days for the park itself, plus another one or two days for Tianmen Mountain and the Glass Bridge. Keep in mind that these attractions are about an hour’s drive from the main park and the hotel. I would also highly recommend visiting the 72 Wonder Tower in Zhangjiajie City in the evening. The atmosphere there is incredible, with live performances, actors in costume, and beautiful light installations that make the whole place feel magical.

For this trip to Zhangjiajie, we spent the first two nights enjoying a slow pace on the west side, then moved to the Guanzhi S B&B near the East Gate for the next two nights. This B&B positions itself as a boutique hotel, not just a regular guesthouse. From the moment you step in, you know it's something special – an artist's entrance, with an artistic atmosphere permeating every corner. The details are meticulously crafted. Many guests here are international tourists and discerning travelers who appreciate quality. It's no exaggeration to say this is the most thoughtful and attentive service I've ever experienced. 📍Location: 50 meters from the East Gate, 7-seater shuttle service provided The B&B is about 50 meters from the East Gate of Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, making park access incredibly convenient. However, because it's so close to the scenic area, it's located in a restricted zone. ⚠️ You MUST use Didi (ride-hailing app) to get directly to the B&B's doorstep. Plus, the hotel offers a 7-seater shuttle service, so transportation is a breeze for families. It's also easy to find restaurants after leaving the park, as the area around the East Gate is full of eateries. 🛏️Bathtub King Room: Refined Down to the Details We stayed in a bathtub king room. The room isn't huge but is exquisite in every detail. The bedding is comfortable, and a relaxing soak in the tub at night washes away all the day's fatigue. If you need anything, just scan the QR code by the bed, and it'll be delivered in minutes – a godsend for busy parents! 👶Parents with Kids Rejoice! All These are Free! Forgot kids' toothbrushes, slippers, or shower gel? The B&B has it all; just ask the front desk, and they'll bring it to your room. There's also a 5 sqm kids' play area with a slide, building blocks, and a small rocking horse. We spent just one night at Foggy Valley, but that was enough time to fall in love with this place! The room was very spacious, and the view from the window was simply magnificent. You can tell that the owners and staff paid great attention to quality — everything is made for comfortable sleep and a proper rest. The atmosphere in the room invites you to relax and take your time. I would especially like to mention the staff. The team is simply superb! All the employees speak excellent English and are ready to offer any support, handling any questions with a smile and genuine care. A special thank you goes to the girl who organized an unforgettable walk for us and hosted a tea ceremony. It was incredibly warm and heartfelt — it's moments like these that make a holiday truly special! Another huge plus is that you can order massage services to your room. After a long flight, it was exactly what we needed — our bodies were so grateful! The breakfast is excellent and is served in a very picturesque spot, which charges you with energy for the whole day. The hotel also has a restaurant with a very large and varied menu — we had dinner there, and the food was top-notch, everything was delicious. The hotel grounds are a work of art in themselves. It's especially beautiful in the evening when the lights come on. You can feel the tremendous attention to detail that adds even more charm and beauty to this place. Even in just one night, Foggy Valley gave us so many impressions. We will definitely come back again to enjoy this place for longer! We had a really fantastic stay at Barenju Inn. The host was extremely helpful, he helped us to plan our itinerary for the national parks and book discounted tickets which we paid for half way through our stay (after having entered the park multiple times already). He was extremely responsive to messages, for example helping us to ensure we had the correct map location to call a didi to, or providing additional towels upon our request. The location is excellent, just a short walk from the East Gate of Zhangjiajie National Park. From our room we could see onto the main street, however the entrance is tucked away ever so slightly (just a few metres) which may make it trickier to find if you're expecting to see it on the main road. The bedroom was large and the bathroom was huge considering the price of the room, with a separate shower (not common in budget Chinese guesthouses). The beds were comfortable, basic amenities provided, and there is a free to use laundry room on the top floor. I have already recommended this inn to friends planning to visit Zhangjiajie in the future, and will definitely stay there if I ever visit again.

If I could, I'd give it six stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. Our Zhangjiajie trip was actually a last-minute change — we only decided to reroute here three days before arriving, during the second half of our journey. And honestly, choosing this guesthouse turned out to be the best decision I made. Right after booking, I reached out to the owner about the itinerary, routes, tickets — basically everything — and she saved us from so many potential headaches. When we got there, she sat down with us and went through the routes in detail, even pointing out some lesser-known spots that were totally worth it. That really helped us slow down and properly soak in this stunning natural wonder of a city. The location itself is super convenient — just a few minutes' walk from the east gate of the scenic area. There's parking out front, and the surrounding area is packed with shops, restaurants, and mini-marts, so you never have to go far for anything. The room? Clean, comfortable, and quiet — great for a solid night's sleep. Loved the smart home setup and the heated towel rack was a nice touch. There's also a few washing machines and dryers available, which was a lifesaver. They even put extra drinking water at the staircase for you to grab each morning before heading out, and you can borrow trekking poles and umbrellas too. But what really stood out was the owner and her brother — warm, thoughtful, and clearly running this place with a lot of heart. Thanks to them, we genuinely enjoyed our time in Zhangjiajie. I'll definitely be recommending this place to friends and family, and if we ever come back with family members, this will be our first choice. Wishing them all the best — may their business continue to thrive!

A very unique and memorable stay in Zhangjiajie! We stayed 2 nights in the Morning Glow King Suite Bedroom. The highlight of this homestay is its cave concept. The reception area is huge, impressive, and beautifully designed, creating a real wow factor upon arrival. The property also features a cave restaurant where breakfast is served, and dinner can be arranged with advance booking. There is also a cosy cave lounge for guests to relax. Our room was large, comfortable, and very clean. The facilities were well maintained and the overall atmosphere was peaceful and relaxing. Location is excellent. The homestay is hidden behind the famous theatre performance venue but only a short walk to the main street, making it convenient while remaining quiet. Highly recommended for travellers looking for a unique accommodation experience in Zhangjiajie. The cave setting alone makes it worth staying here.

The accommodation is exceptionally clean and tidy, with complete facilities, and it's very close to the East Gate of Wulingyuan. The hostel owner is incredibly warm, friendly, and especially considerate. Despite the very hot weather, the owner always prepared chilled bottled water for us, which we deeply appreciated. Furthermore, we purchased tickets for various Zhangjiajie scenic spots (Tianmen Mountain, Grand Canyon, National Forest Park, Furong Ancient Town) through the hostel owner, and the prices were even cheaper than buying online. The owner also enthusiastically helped us with various aspects of our Zhangjiajie trip, making what could have been a complicated journey much easier. I highly recommend this hostel! If you're coming to Zhangjiajie, I truly suggest staying here!

Great location, amazing people, clean rooms, but no pool to swim in. The staff is really good. They are very friendly and helpful. The room is truly beautiful. For breakfast lunch for dinner, they drive you down the mountain for two minutes to another hotel, their restaurant Terrace and garden there is really beautiful and the people are very friendly. However, we expected that there would be a pool but this was not the case, this is very misleading given that there are pictures of pools on the listing… all by all we had a great time at this hotel and they have been very helpful arranging cars for us. No pool was very disappointing.

When I first saw the name 'Xiangjiang Hotel' online, I thought it would be an older, more traditional style of accommodation. However, my stay completely exceeded my expectations. The hotel has a charming retro ambiance, and I found it to be very clean, tidy, quiet, and incredibly comfortable. It's also a great spot for taking photos! What truly stood out was the personalized butler service; it was exceptionally warm and thoughtful. On my first night, I checked in at midnight, and even at 2 AM, customer service was promptly responding to my WeChat messages. For any needs in the room, they'd reply instantly, showing incredible attention to detail and care. The mini-fridge, tea, and toiletries were replenished immediately. After my first night, I extended my stay without hesitation the next day. I'm sure I'll choose to stay here again on my next trip to Changsha.
