Hostels in Beijing, China

Staff - super friendly, helpful and you can book tours such as Great Wall of China and forbidden city through them. Room - tiny but clean - unfortunately you have to make your own bed which makes no sense to me and did annoy me. Location - near lots of restaurants and metro station, good to see more suburban Beijing where locals live. Social - not too social, many locals and no activities (this is what to expect from hostels in China tho, so not unique to this hostel) Recommendations - staff are truly great! I would recommend staying in the double bed room as I also stayed in there and in the dorm. The dorm was tiny (if you have a big bag or suitcase there is nowhere in the dorm to put it, very very very small) and this room was also small (although I did have two very large luggage - unlike the queen bed room which has lots of solace. You also have to use the communal bathroom (so do dorms) (toilets smelled and they always ran out of toilet paper). Overall would recommend, just get a double bed room with private bathroom.

Difficult to find if you don't already know the area; it's an unassuming doorway on the third floor up a random flight of stairs! At least in the winter time, most staff and occupants are Chinese. I suppose it's a good chance to practice Mandarin, and you shouldn't have to worry about noisy Westerners killing the vibe. It's an acceptable level of cleanliness and there is a small fridge next to the admin office. There are also two malls and what appear to be several clubs around the other side of the block (towards Wudaokou station) so be sure to have a good look around.

Place is a little hard to find (and get into after hours - had to be let in as key didn’t work) but location is very convenient less than five minutes from wudaokou station. Beds clean spacious quiet and comfortable. Bathroom could be cleaner as squat toilets get dirty quick. Had one problem with another guest as they were smoking inside the room which made it incredibly unpleasant for all in the room.

It was an awesome trip. We visited a bunch of hostels. What finally attracted us to this place was its beautiful environment. And most importantly, the staff we met here was the only one who could speak fluent English. Plus, she was super cute. That made us feel really convenient and at home. The place is kept really clean. Another lady there is also very kind. The only drawback is that the sound insulation isn't particularly great. You can hear people talking loudly in the corridor. But I think it's something we can live with because everything else is so good. 这是一次很棒的旅行。我们参观了很多青年旅社。最终吸引我们来到这里的是它美丽的环境。而且最重要的是，这里遇到的工作人员是唯一能说一口流利英语的人。而且她超级可爱。这让我们感到非常方便和舒适。这个地方保持得非常干净。那里还有一位女士也非常友善。唯一的缺点是隔音效果不是特别好。走廊里有人大声说话能听到。但我认为这没什么大不了的，因为其他方面都太好了。

I really enjoyed my stay! The room was comfortable with a big window to let lots of natural light in. Bottled water was provided everyday, and there was also a kettle to boil water. Towels, toiletries, and a hairdryer were also provided in the private room. I enjoyed the communal areas, too. They are very comfortable and the staff are helpful. My only complaint is that the bathroom had a strong smell, from the plumbing I assume, but I think this is fairly common for old buildings in the hutongs.

The staff at the hostel was nice and friendly but it was a bit hard to communicate (it works with translation app really well tho). The location is great, with 10-15 min walk to the next metro and the forbidden city in walking distance. The beds in the rooms were okay but the room itself was a bit wet overall (I think it came from the AC) and with that the bed too. Also the bathroom was not really clean (hair everywhere and spots on the floor), a bit moldy on the walls and it overall felt a bit nasty (but I was also a bit unlucky with my room mates to be honest so it’s not quite the fault of the hostel but gave a bad feeling about the overall situation). There is also no towels, slippers or soap provided so prepare that. But there is a washing machine and you can hang your clothes.

# Great youth hostel experience 👍 The youth hostel I stayed at this time surprised me! The room was clean and tidy, the bed was soft and comfortable, the public area was spacious and warm, and it was very suitable for communicating with friends from all over the world. The boss is warm and hospitable, and will patiently share local play guides with us. Very cost-effective, stay here next time!

Pros : - Great location, near Yonghegong Lama Temple subway station and only one station from Dongzhimen Capital Airport Express subway station to Beijing Capital Airport -Only few minutes walk to Lama temple and easy to go around by subways line 2 and 5, buses and taxi - Local restaurants and a convenience store nearby - 24 hrs front office staffs with basic English speaking - Outdoor and indoor common areas - Softdrinks, beers, snacks, instant noodles for selling behind the check-in counter - Using a key card to enter the bedroom Cons : - No curtains on bunkbeds, not much privacy - Need to improve the cleanliness a little bit - Refrigerator to keep the guests' food is too small

A very nice and unique Hutong B&B, located in Baihua Shenshen Hutong. The B&B is a renovation of a small courtyard house, which tries to preserve the characteristics of Beijing residential buildings. It is very beautiful, with a viewing terrace on the roof where you can drink coffee. The room is also very clean and tidy. The children like it very much, and I like it too. The B&B has a cafe, and you can pay for coffee.

Loved my stay here ..the people running hostel are very nice and they helped me too in looking for place to buy my charger..the property has free water for drinking which is very good..bed and room was top notch clean..
