Well, I came to this nice hostel a few weeks ago, and the fact that I have return speaks for itself.
The place is clean, regularly serviced; garbage removel, toilets refreshing etc.
The staff is excellent and very helpful. The location is great, at walking distance to the subway, with food stores at the street level.
There are sufficient facilities ,even on full house. I never had to wait for a free the toilet or shower.
The 24 hour front desk is also great, there is always someone to help.
I am on a journey around the world ,and the staff was most supportive, allowing photos to be taken with my poster and accepting my small brochure..
I am a long term traveller (backpacking fullntime since 2007, and by quanike since 2023. I appreciate a good hostel to call it home temporarily. Zhihexing is the place for me in Beijing.
I highly recommend.
Had a great stay at Peking Youth Hostel! The room was spacious and clean, and the staff was amazing. A big thank you to the receptionist who helped me to set up a chinese app! The metro station is right down the road, and there are many good restaurants nearby (Hint: ask for recommendations at the desk). Looking forward to come back on my next visit in Beijing. :)

Difficult to find if you don't already know the area; it's an unassuming doorway on the third floor up a random flight of stairs! At least in the winter time, most staff and occupants are Chinese. I suppose it's a good chance to practice Mandarin, and you shouldn't have to worry about noisy Westerners killing the vibe. It's an acceptable level of cleanliness and there is a small fridge next to the admin office. There are also two malls and what appear to be several clubs around the other side of the block (towards Wudaokou station) so be sure to have a good look around.

The hostel is very cute with a lot of plants that gives a feeling of coziness. The front desk was extra helpful and could solve minor issues I had (like forgetting my plug for my phone charger). The location is really ideal, only a few minutes away from a subway station that can easily links to all the main tourist attractions. And it is in a hutong which gives a feeling of ancient China!
I would recommend staying there!

The area is amazing , 5 months from the forbidden city. The street is very quiet. The hostel is not very welcoming. You need to work on your customers service skills. The bedsheets were cleaned, good pillows. The towels is barely useful as it’s very small, it’s more like a cloth then a towel. The bathroom and the rooms are really really small. But you get what you pay for. I stayed 3 nights and besides all that I had a really good rest.

My cabin had boogers on the walls, which is just unacceptable. The whole place just didn’t satisfy my cleanliness criteria. The chairs of the common areas were stained, the walls were dirty, etc. The cabin is also on the smaller side.
The room was packed when I was there, but the air circulation wasn’t good at all.
Other guests have also been inconsiderate during my stay, being loud and smoking inside the bathroom.
Shower didn’t drain properly so I was standing in a puddle while showering. Not to mention, there’s an unhealthy amount of mould on the ceiling. They do provide soap, shampoo and body wash though. The toilets are squat only.
Location is not bad, it’s very close to Wudaokou Station and Summer Palace is around 30 minutes away. Other major attractions in the central area, such as Tiananmen Square, take around an hour with two transfers at least.

- 24 hrs front office staffs with basic English speaking
- Outdoor and indoor common areas
- Softdrinks, beers, snacks, instant noodles for selling
behind the check-in counter
- Using a key card to enter the bedroom
Cons :
- No curtains on bunkbeds, not much privacy
- Need to improve the cleanliness a little bit
- Refrigerator to keep the guests' food is too small

The stay was generally pleasant. The woman running the place is friendly and speaks English, which was helpful. However, the location is about a 20-minute walk from the metro, and there’s not much of a shared space or traveler atmosphere.
If it hadn’t been the cheapest option, I probably would have stayed somewhere else.
One night in Beijing, I didn't dare to ask for directions at midnight for fear of walking into the depths of Baihua.
Accidentally, I stayed here for one night.
The hotel is close to the subway station and bus station, and the transportation is convenient. The room is divided into dry and wet areas, and the terrace is really great.
The only drawback is that there is no heating, and the first floor of the loft room is very cold in winter.
It should be great in spring.

It’s called a youth hostel, but it’s more like a homestay. The environment is better than that of ordinary families. As soon as I walked in, I saw the tidy bedroom, spacious and bright living room, and I particularly liked the furniture. The bathroom and kitchen are spotless. There are not many people living here, and their quality is high. It’s very quiet! Living in a place like this is the taste of life! It is economical and comfortable, and much more cost-effective than a hotel.

AAliceOne of the loveliest lodgings I have experienced. The Orchid Hotel is a short walk from the bustling streets, yet it offers a peaceful retreat that feels like your own private oasis. The breakfast at either of their two restaurants is absolutely amazing! The bakery sells delicious bakes and they are hard to resist. The team running the lodging is a thoughtful bunch too. Knowing that I had to leave for the Great Wall at 6.50am, they made sure they had bakes and freshly brewed coffee for me to bring along for my day trip. The map provided by them is informative, thoughtful and extremely useful. Strongly suggest you take a good read and mark out the places you want to visit. Much appreciated Jihan and her team who have made the stay a very pleasant one.

GGuest UserThe staff were helpful, most people stay here are students, it is conveniently near city centre but quite a walk to the nearest train station.
I would say the price is great for this location, but with all shared rooms there are always compromises/air con could be stuffy, cleanliness issues etc. Thank you to the staff who helped me when I'm there!
