Overall, the hotel is decent, but it's not worth the money. The staff at the reception and in the restaurant are very polite. They always greet you, smile, and open doors.
The location is good. There's a park nearby and a shopping center with many cafes opposite.
The breakfasts aren't overly varied but are quite good. There was always a meat dish, fruits, cheese, and a variety of pastries. Pleasant, relaxing music plays. However, there was a big BUT that spoiled the entire impression. Out of 5 days spent at the hotel, I saw cockroaches in the restaurant twice. Once it was just on the wall, and the second time it was sitting right on a piece of bread. It was terribly unpleasant.
Also, despite their general politeness, the male housekeepers cleaned the room in a very peculiar way. For some reason, they cleaned the toilet without detergents, and the toilet smell lingered. Maybe they're trying to save money.
I understand that this is Bangladesh, and it's foolish to expect the same standards as European hotels. But they do position themselves as an expensive hotel for foreign guests and generally well-off people. They need to live up to that. First and foremost, they should get rid of the cockroaches in the kitchen. I don't believe the staff themselves have never seen them there.
I had a wonderful stay at Sky City Hotel in Dhaka. The hotel was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. The staff were friendly, professional, and always ready to help, which made my stay even more enjoyable. The room was neat and equipped with all the necessary amenities, and the food was also very good. I highly recommend Sky City Hotel to anyone visiting Dhaka for business or leisure. Thank you for the excellent hospitality and service.
It was splendid. The receptionists are welcoming and understand English, was scared they won't understand. Their amenities are superb. Very clean, very posh. By the way, stay away from the minibar snacks, that's a deadly trap I fell for...lesson learnt. Thanks for the wonderful stay.
