We have stayed at the Martha for many years and have always loved the character of the historic property, the service, and the Food and Beverage. This is our sixth visit over the years. We made reservations before Christmas this year and reserved two nights for the 24th and 25th, 2023. We also made reservations for The Sister's Dining Room for Christmas Eve on the 24th at 8:00 PM and confirmed with the guest services. We arrived and checked in to room #402 and were disappointed with the lack of light throughout the room, no headboards on the queen-size bed, the Shower drained very slowly, and the heating had no temperature control. We also had to take two flights of stairs to our room; we were not asked if we had to take stairs. I asked if we could review other rooms and was told no other rooms were available. (I found out later that other rooms were available as the occupancy was 35 %. The front desk at our arrival was not helpful. ) We arrived at Sisters for our 8:00 PM Dinner reservations, and they had no reservations for our 8:00 PM Arrival. Fortunately, the Hostess was able to make room for us, and we had a delightful dinner with a fabulous server named Sarah; she was exceptional, and our menu items, Prime Rib, and Braised Short Ribs, were Fabulous; this was the highlight of our stay, compliments to the Chef. The rest of our stay was excellent. Breakfast for both days was excellent, and Karen, our server, was delightful, courteous, and very service-oriented. We will continue to revisit The Marthaust wish we had a choice of another room for our stay.
