Hotel Brunner
"I stayed there for one night. The hotel is in a good location ,right next to the city. It's a clean hotel and the service (front desk) were very friendly. There is not enough parking place in fron of the hotel (10 Eur/night parking fee). But they also have a small underground parking place on the other side of the hotel (must drive around). The parking fee for the underground was 4 or 6 Euro ,if I remember correctly. The decoration is not the best and looks a bit old. But for a short staying good enough. If you need a teeth brush ,you must ask the fornt desk. I didn't had a breakfast ,so I don't know if it's good. In total it was alright."
Mariandl am Berg
"Another business trip - another hotel ( I think I overused this cliché) ... well I can tell you straight forward is more than just "another hotel". Last December I was on business trip in the city of Amberg so I was in need of accommodation and since this hotel was recommend - from more sources - I've asked my agent to book it. Here are the findings - the hotel is located at the beginning of a pedestrian street , however the guests can park in the hotels parking lot that is only a few steps away from the entrance of the hotel - so it is convenient from this perspective. The historical city center is a few hundred meters from the hotel - and very close there are restaurants, breweries and pubs ... well, there are also churches to be accurate and museums within walking distance. Front desk staff very friendly and professional - fast check in an check-out - everything went smooth from the perspective of interaction. Room - very spacious, one of the biggest rooms I had in the past 2-3 years in any hotel - except Hard Rock Hotel in San Diego - the furniture looked new and the room and bathroom were very clean. You don't have a "typical" bathroom - it is an open space in one of the corners of the room, with a walk-in shower, my favorite kind of shower booth. So from this perspective, jackpot! (to toilet is situated in separated smaller room - a nice thing to have this setup). Breakfast - was served at the last level overlooking the rooftops of the city , and in the evening you can checkout the Walkure Skybar - in the morning they serve breakfast there, in the evening they are mixing cocktails - a nice approach using the same space. Prices - I have to say very decent and with an excellent price to quality ratio. There is no doubt, it is a very good hotel , and should I go back to Amberg I would try to book the same hotel - I recommend you try it when you are in Amberg."
Vienna House Easy by Wyndham Amberg
"The hotel was amazing! The room is huge compared to other hotels where you would pay even more money. Located near everything. Staff super friendly. You can take a water bottle at the reception (made out of glass) and refill it with normal water or mineral water at the reception. Totally recommend it!"
Bootshaus Amberg

Drahthammer Schlößl
"After traveling nearly 24 hours from California, I arrived at the hotel late at night, in the rain, and in the middle of winter—only to find it completely unstaffed. There was no signage or welcome, just a key retrieved from a drop box tucked in a poorly lit corner by the front door, exposed to the elements. The key itself was unusually heavy and offered no information other than a room number—no instructions, no map, no indication of where to go. I tried multiple doors without success before finally ringing the emergency bell. A man eventually appeared, looking irritated and disheveled, and wordlessly led me to a separate building, where he pointed me down a hallway to my room. Unfortunately, the room I was given looked nothing like the ones shown in the hotel’s promotional materials. While I understand that each room is different, this one lacked even the basics: no window covering, no comfortable bedding, and a general sense of being unfinished or neglected. I had to use a spare blanket to cover the window for privacy and to block car headlights. I had deliberately chosen this hotel over others in town because it appeared to offer a peaceful and comfortable atmosphere—ideal for recovering from long travel—but the experience fell far short of expectations. The next morning, I explained the situation to the front desk. Their response was indifferent, but they eventually agreed to move me to a room that more closely matched what had been advertised. That room was much better, and from that point on, the stay was decent and breakfast was enjoyable. That said, I remain baffled that the first room is even in circulation. It felt like a last-resort option that should only be used in emergencies, if at all. Photos show the room I received, followed by a photo of the bed I was moved to and a photo of their breakfast room."
