Kui Ran was renovated from a six-generation-old ancestral home of the Naxi and Japanese style, covering an area of over 3,000 square meters. It features two main buildings, two distinct inner courtyards, and an additional 2,000 square meters of outdoor space. The 160-year-old walnut tree in the courtyard is the soul of the place. The hotel has 14 rooms, including 13 scenic rooms facing the snow-capped mountains and one century-old ancestral home family suite. Each room is equipped with Marshall speakers, Epson projectors, Hisense TVs, Atour zero-pressure memory pillows, Acca Kappa toiletries, Kohler showers, and Jomoo smart toilets to ensure a comfortable stay. A complimentary breakfast is delivered to the room, along with welcome fruits, a snack package, and a selection of coffee for afternoon tea, allowing guests to indulge their taste buds and embark on a journey back to nature. We were initially staying at a large Hyatt brand hotel in Lijiang, and wanted to experience these up and coming boutique, modern style hotels. So my comparison is against the traditional big name hotels with similar price points. Pros: 1. Interesting design, bathroom right by the window 2. Great service, you can contact them easily and they are always free to have a conversation with you 3. Free flow drinks and snacks 4. Free car service to nearby towns 5. Cute open farm where you can feed and play with goats, ponies and even dogs. Cons: 1. Open concept lobby. Was freezing when having my breakfast. 2. Breakfast only starts at 8:30am, with limited options. You don’t get to enjoy the buffet style of large hotels. 3. Had trouble figuring out how to turn on heating, so was absolutely freezing in the room. 4. Room Design didn’t translate into practicality. Didn’t enjoy the open concept toilet. But this is contentious, and really up to individual preference. But I didn’t get the luxury experience I was looking for. 5. Lack of privacy: we booked the room with a large hot tub with Mountain View. However it is also facing the farm and being on the second floor. Anyone can easily look up and see us in the bath tub. While there is no one playing at night, we were only limited to night time baths which was a waste as we wouldn’t be able to enjoy the view in the day time. Overall, while I enjoyed the personalized and impeccable service (comparable to Aman hotels and expensive Maldives resorts), I just feel like the hotel being new, has a few teething issues it needs to resolve. I would argue that it is also an individual’s personal preference. For me, they shared the same price point with the large luxury brands in the area, but I just did not get the luxury experience from the room and hotel’s design. Their room design seem to heavily focus on aesthetics but not really functionality for their guests.

I rarely write reviews for hotels, but this time I really want to recommend it from the bottom of my heart. When I checked in on the first day, I felt that it was next to the road and I didn't want to live in the village, but after checking in and checking out, it was so comfortable that the children said they didn't want to leave at all. First of all, every employee of the hotel was very enthusiastic, going out to greet us, helping with luggage, introducing rooms, etc. They were very enthusiastic and the service was very good. I praise every employee of the hotel. Secondly, the environment is very good, clean, the bedding is comfortable, and the hair dryers are all Dyson. It's very comfortable to live here. In addition, it feels like the hotel is feeding all day long🤭, breakfast, afternoon tea, and barbecue treated by the boss in the evening, milk and pear soup before going to bed, singing and chatting around the campfire, it's so beautiful! Facilities: All hardware facilities are quite new, the air conditioning and heating effect is very good, the hot water temperature in the bathroom is also very good, and the room is quite spacious. Sanitation: It is quite clean and tidy, and I didn't find any problems. Environment: There are food and drinks within a few steps. The ancient town is very small, and the homestay feels very close to everywhere. As for the interior of the room, I personally think it is full marks. Although the experience of Baisha Ancient Town is not good, I got a particularly good accommodation experience. Service: When arriving and leaving the homestay, the brother will pick you up and take you to a convenient place in the ancient town to get on and off. There is no electric kettle in the room, so I was given water in a thermos. This thermos is really amazing. It was still very hot at noon the next day.

The facilities are first-class, with floor heating and exquisite toiletries! The ranch is suitable for children to play, and you can ride horses, feed sheep and row boats, all free. There is a cliff cafe on the top of the mountain, where you can watch the golden mountain in the morning light! The handsome butler Xiao He throughout the whole process, caring and thoughtful service, airport pick-up, meal delivery, going to the top of the mountain, going to eat, on call! Perfect experience, worth recommending!

Facilities: The whole house is smart. I was attracted by the environment when I saw the pictures. The Dyson hair dryer is a lifesaver for people with thick hair. You don’t need to carry a hair dryer in your suitcase. I didn’t use the projector because I went out to play very soon on the day of my stay. I was too tired to turn on the projector when I came back. Sanitation: Clean. It looks really comfortable for me, a mild mysophobia person. The smart toilet is also very good. The whole house is equipped with disposable products to ensure cleanliness and no reuse. Environment: I really have no idea about the location of the hotel, but we are very lucky to live not far from the entrance of Baisha Ancient Town, otherwise the stone road will bump us to death. It is very convenient to take a taxi to go out and visit Baisha Ancient Town. Service: The front desk lady has a really good personality. If you have any problems, she will treat you warmly. Then I met the boss lady on the day of check-out. There is a little dog who likes to stick to each other and we are very happy to chat. I really like the design of the room, which is simple but artistic. You can see the panoramic view of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain directly from the room window, and the boss will remind you of the time to watch the sunrise over Jinshan in the morning. The boss and his family run the accommodation with great care, carrying our luggage up and down the stairs for us. The breakfast in the morning was delicious, and in the evening they baked purple sweet potatoes and hot milk for us to enjoy when we come back. The garden on the first floor is very nice for taking pictures, and the coffee is also delicious. I will definitely stay here again next time I come to Lijiang
