Stayed 2 nights at the Gubei Wtown Resort. The resort is probably one of the larger resorts within the area of Gubei Watertown. Your coach or taxi will drop you at the Carpark (P2) outside the Watertown as no outside vehicles are allowed inside the Watertown. It is a short walk to the Visitor Centre where you can deposit your luggage and register for the hotel/resort/ boutique accommodation over here. Please note ”no drones” are allowed beyond this point. They will screen through every luggage. After which you can take the Watertown Shuttle to your resort which is only a couple of mins. If you have big luggage, they will send directly to the hotel you booked as well. The resort is beautiful a blend with ancient Chinese design with modern architecture. The room is immaculately adorned with traditional furniture, murals, artifacts and other traditional Chinese elements to exude the ancient town. It is very spacious too, truly luxurious! We bought the package which includes daily breakfast for 2, a dinner for 2, a spa (onsen) for 2, a handicraft experience either Kite making or lantern making for 1 and the Simatai Great Wall Ticket for 2 (hike up). There is a huge swimming pool within the hotel and a gym. Very under utilised. It is nice to have a swim after the Great Wall hike. In short, it is a very memorable stay the resort worth every penny of it.

Beautiful hotel, spacious, huge, and clean. Great breakfast selection. Deluxe Double room was still pretty fine! Hotel is just right outside of the Watertown but you get admission to enter staying at this hotel. It is furthest from Simatai Great Wall - can take shuttle bus.

This was a wonderfully unique experience for us living in a (fully renovated) stone house in an ancient village at the foot of the Great Wall. March is a great time to visit if you prefer peace and quiet and few tourists. The inn is quaint and pleasant. The room is small and cozy, and the ambience, including the large bay window overlooking the street and the large wooden beams on the ceiling, makes you feel like you really are living in another era. The inn is located inside the Watertown, so you will need to walk a bit from the entrance of the Watertown. It is centrally located in the Watertown, so you are right in the middle of all the fun and activity. We really appreciated the free luggage service - you drop off your luggage at the entrance when you purchase tickets and enter the Watertown, and they bring your luggage to your inn. Once you’re done enjoying the Watertown and Great Wall, your luggage is waiting for you at the inn. Breakfast at the inn was absolutely delicious - highly recommend trying the wonton soup and the fresh soy milk!

Wonderful stay within the Gubei Water town. It’s centrally located within the town and walkable to most of the attractions and eateries. Breakfast has good variety of drinks and food. Manager there is very accommodative and helped us to arrange transport directly out of the town. Highly recommended.

This hotel is located outside of GuBei town but very near its entrance, which makes it very convenient. My friend and I were upgraded to a kind of a small flat rather than the room we were supposed to stay in, which was a nice attention. There were some traces from the previous customers in the bathroom but we didn’t mind because everything looked clean. The staff’s English was limited but they were very kind. Breakfast was also appreciated. When I booked the room I wasn’t sure if we wanted to have it. Fortunately, it was possible to order it as long as we asked for it a couple of hours in advance. It was a Chinese breakfast and I thought there was a lot of food for the low price, so I was very satisfied. There’s also a small convenience store within the ”reception” and my friend really liked the free coffee. I learned too late that the hotel also offers a free shuttle to the parking lot, where the public bus that goes to the train station leaves from. I suggest you ask for it because the parking lot was farther than I thought it was. I enjoyed my stay in this hotel and I recommend it!

First of all I should say the lady who is in charge is a very nice woman and helped us with everything we asked as soon as she could. She even came to pick up us at Gubei Wtown after I texted her and told her there was no taxi or cars on hailing apps to return to the hotel. It’s a forty minute walk and it was a very cold night so I really appreciate her kindness. On the other hand, I think they should fix some stuff in the room, like the shower drain, air conditioning (it was cold air mainly) and them generally the service to provide a better stay for their guests.

Loved this hotel. Great location with a view of the Great Wall from the beautiful pool. The room is really nice with a patio. We had dinner and breakfast at the hotel and enjoyed both. Our stay included the park entrance fee and hot springs. We really liked walking around Watertown and had lunch at one of the shops. We took a cable car right before sunset to the Great Wall, and after a hike reached the Wall. It wasn't crowded and we spent quite a bit of time there before heading back down. At that point it was getting dark, and the lights on the Wall came on. Very beautiful sight, and we got great pictures. I would love to come back to this hotel and area again when we have more time.

The boss was very good. I asked him on WeChat if a double room would provide two quilts. He directly arranged a standard room for me and gave me two beds 🛏️, which was very awesome. Although we didn't arrive until 10pm on the 28th, we were still escorted to check in by staff and had to take a photo of our ID card and upload it, because the Public Security Bureau has strict management. Facilities: The kitchen and bathroom are complete, but there is no place to put clothes, so they can only be piled in front of the TV. The socket switches are blocked behind the bed. Hygiene: Average, the bed may not have been cleaned. Environment: The space is a bit too small, maybe the original design was for one bed, the aisle is also narrow, after coming here so many times, this room and the windowsill outside are the smallest. Service: The service attitude is particularly good 👌🏻 There is a convenience store nearby. The sandwiches are not delicious, but the vegetable salad is good. Remember to buy salad dressing separately. There is nothing wrong with Dianbing Dianjiang except that it is a bit expensive. The beef noodles for 38 are delicious😋

Room was comfortable and clean. Very close to the bus that will take you directly to the gondola. Need to call the host to check in or add on WeChat, limited English but friendly.

The hotel and the room is beautifuly decorated. They prepare a plate of peanuts and a plate of local fruit (i don't know its name) in the room, and also 2 kind of authentic chinese tea. Room is not big, but it's enough to rest comfortly. Location is great, not too far from Gubei entrance, and not too far to get to their central square. It is a bit far to the entrace of Simatai Greatwall tho, but the scenery along the walk is beautiful. Breakfast option not great. Mostly local food (porridge, pickles, soy milk, etc), and only have toast bread for wetern option. But hey, you are in ”ancient cultural theme park”, immerse with it! They also run a restaurant. A bit pricey but taste is good with a beautiful riverview backyad
