Hotel Vilar America

The hotel is at a good location in Chapinero being close to main streets, ATMs, banks, hospitals, etc. The staff was always very warm and respectful. The bed and pillows were very comfy and you can have a good night rest. The wifi is pretty fast once you’re connected.
Hotel le Manoir Bogota

It is a very good hotel located just a few squares from Transmilenio, you can also go to several places walking and it is very nice around it. breakfast quality is good, serve a buffet with fruit, cheese, jam, yogurt juice, eggs, bread, The negative thing this buffet has is that they serve waffles but there is no honey for them or marmelade, it was asked several times until the girl finally had to say that there was no. The room is comfortable and something to emphasize is that it always remains very clean and orderly what I love, the negative point of the room is that despite the hotel is in a very quiet and quiet area all night There is a engine that is continuously off which stops the good rest.

Excellent attention, good breakfast. Good facilities of the hotel. The boy who serves at the very friendly reception helps one with the letter available from food sites near the hotel, which makes it easy for him not to go out to search

Let’s start with the good. The hotel is very charming, nice decor and very clean. The staff is friendly and the breakfast nice. So the reality: this is really more of an upscale hostel than “hotel”. Check in went well, however there were many things that could be improved if disclosed at check-in: you have to ask for key to in room safe (which is tiny), you have to ask for the hot water to be turned on for your shower, there is a really lovely upper outdoor terrace which no one advised us of so we only figured it out the night before we left. Wi-Fi was not provided on check-in, we had to come back and ask. All these things are really not that big of a deal but it would’ve made a lot of trips back to the front desk unnecessary. The most aggravating part of our experience was the noise. You hear absolutely everything including the doorbell to the hotel, which ruminates throughout even late at night, and very early in the morning. We were woken up at 4:30 AM twice due to chattering. We asked for two extra pillows, and they were not able to provide that for us until our last night. There were no cups in the rooms. Also, the room we had was number nine on the second floor, which was adequate, however there are no windows just a stained glass window which light would be men making it difficult to sleep. We were given a remote control for the television, which even with a battery change and never ended up working. Lastly, the hotel is on one of the steepest hills in the area. It is a good location just be prepared for a steep climb to the hotel.
Hotel Regina

It was not a good first impression when we arrived in the pouring rain, and the receptionist couldn't find our booking and didn't seem overly bothered about it. I had to show her confirmation on my phone for her to then look a bit harder, finally finding it but no explanation or apology. We then had to sign numerous forms, goodness knows what for, and hope they are not signed to be charged for anything ! But after the initial bad start, the rest was all good. Our Twin Room was lovely, nice and spacious and even had a mini fridge, hob and sink - like a mini kitchenette. Desk, wardrobe, loads of power sockets, and a safe as well. No ac, so the room got quite stuffy so had to keep the windows open. The shower was the best we've had in 3 weeks in Colombia, super pressure, boiling hot, and lots of room - amazing ! Very good value, and the breakfast was really good - cereal, coffee/hot chocolate, fresh juices, eggs to order, pancakes, fresh bread, cheese, ham, salad, toast etc. Very small area though with only a few tables, so it soon felt very cramped. Lovely rooftop garden, but unfortunately it rained both evenings we were there so we didn't use it. Originally built in 1921, and some of it does show its age - the lift looks like the original, really tiny, and jerks alarmingly when it first moves ! The morning receptionist spoke very good english and was really friendly and helpful, and booked us a taxi to the airport for 36,000 pesos. Very good location in La Candelaria area, so nice and easy to walk to main sights from there, and just around the corner from Museo de Oro.
GHL Hotel Hamilton

Our flight home was the day following our domestic arrival to Bogota and we wanted to see family in the area near GHL Hampton so we stayed here one night for location purposes. In the absence of visiting family we would have stayed at the airport (GHL's other property GHL Capital or Marriott). Obviously this hotel is not great for airport transport since the drive, without traffic is 30 minutes. With traffic it can get as bad as 80 minutes. Whereas airport hotels are a mere 5-10 minutes from the airport. Hamilton is good if you plan to do some touring of Bogota. Location aside, the hotel is nice. It reminds you of a New York City hotel with regard to size, stuffed between two buildings, while the design is very rustic like a boutique hotel. The lobby is very pretty. The rooms are decent but could use some work. Most nice Colombian hotels use tile floors but both GHL properties (Hamilton & Capital) use carpet and frankly, both carpets are pretty gross to be honest. They really need to get rid of the carpet. The window blackout curtains look like they are from the 1900s. I'd much prefer more modern replacements. Bathrooms are very pretty. The room was very comfortable though. Bed was excellent. The breakfast, while included, really could use some improvement. If this breakfast was in the US I'd give it a 5 star rating because we all know US hotel included breakfasts are trash. But being in Colombia it's like a 2 out of 5. The juices are not fresh - they are from box. The sliced fruits are clearly mass produced. The eggs seem to be from a carton. Options are very limited. Seating is also very limited. If you get to the breakfast after 830 you might find yourself waiting for tables to free up. This is all very strange to me because the breakfast at GHL Capital is a lot better, so we had high expectations coming in. Price was pretty good. I recommend you book on their website instead of third party sites. If you signup for an account you'll supposedly get a 10% coupon. I couldn't figure out how to get it to go but whatever. You'll get a discounted price that is lower than any of the third party booking sites (and I love using those sites). Moreover, you may qualify for free transport to the airport from the hotel. One thing that bothered me about the booking process, both from their website and third party sites is that you can't book anything besides a single twin room or two twin room. But the hotel has suites! I had to ask at the front desk to get an upgrade (at a cost). Would i stay here again? If a similar family visit situation occurs, i might, but I'll probably see if there are other options first. I was happy to select this hotel because it was GHL and we like GHL Capital a lot.
