Premier Inn Bournemouth Westbourne Hotel

Food was fantastic and saff very friendly and helpful.

TBH after reading the reviews and paying the lowest online room rate available in the area I was bracing myself for a shocker but was pleasantly surprised in some ways… By some form of miracle I managed to snag the last car parking space at 7:30pm (some folk had parked on double yellows!) and £7 for overnight parking is a bargain in Bournemouth. Efficient welcome, not overly friendly but not rude either. Got the job done. Skipped the restaurant as it was full of contractors boozing and resembled some kind of working man’s club from the 80’s… found a lovely little Italian down the road instead - Pinocchio’s, highly recommend! Reasonable nights sleep, despite a slightly stale smelling room (had the window open, which is quite unusual). Shower was decent but nearly out of soap. We were up at 5am to catch a ferry so didn’t have any breakfast but the location was perfect for getting to Poole Ferry Terminal.

I’ve stayed at this Premier Inn on several previous occasions and been quite impressed, it is a great location for the beaches town centre and walks, although this time I thought that the hotel needs a refurb, there were areas where carpets were worn and marks on walls and filings, the room this time was the smallest I’ve ever stayed in a Premier Inn , there was hardly any room between the bed and the walls and very tight at the bottom of the bed, the desk was very narrow and could not be used to work on (if needed to), although the bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was a buffet style and as it was busy the re-stocking of items was slow and had to wait or request more items. The car parking is good although a little expensive.Overall I was disappointed with the hotel compared to other times I’ve visited.

I use Premier Inns several times a year and appreciate usb’s by the bed, onsite parking - especially when travelling with an under-16. Had to park a 5 minute walk away. Had to charge everything on the desk as there were no sockets anywhere near the bed. Stayed at better Premier Inn’s

I've stayed here a few years ago and it was ok. This time round I was disappointed. Staff are nice but not knowledgeable at all... From buses to places to visit, we left with no info. When asking about bus routes we got replies ranging from 'I don't know' to 'I don't use the bus'. Receptionists should know more than just how to check you in and out! When we asked whether they had a luggage weigher, they looked at us as if we'd sprouted horns! If you want to eat in your room, you have to wait and take plates up yourself... And they give you dessert with your main course so good luck eating in time before your ice cream melts! It's also good to know that you have to ask reception for your room to be cleaned or for fresh towels Once again staff are nice but the hotel service has spiralled downwards in the few years since I visited.

Evening staff on reception were brusque. Room was narrow and decorated in dark colours - not inviting. There was an extra single bed in the room which we didn't want. and it reduced the space. Unable to pay for parking using cash and told that the hotel didn't own the car park, but Whitbread own premier inn and the car park. Horizon just manage it.

This was a treat for my daughter's birthday whilst also seeing friends who had moved down to the county. The hotel was clean and comfortable with the cooked breakfast and continental breakfast being a great start to the day. Due to a lack of staff in the hotel (and therefore at reception), it took longer at reception, and I only just managed to get back to the car to move it out of the 10 minute drop-off bay before having to move it as we had no plans to pay for the car park as side streets are free (or have 2 hours parking 8am-6pm).

We used to look forward to staying in Premier Inn but it is becoming clear from our last two hotel stays including this one that they are cutting corners and having to ask (yet again) for another set of towels having booked a double room is symptomatic of their cost cutting approach that now seems to be the business plan. The quality of the breakfast has declined markedly with far narrower choice than was the case just a few years ago, and a rather haphazard attitude from staff - for example one of the two bean to cup coffee machines had run out of beans but I saw staff walk right past this (and customers queuing to use the working one) on half a dozen occasions until I felt I had to bring this to their attention. The person who then proceeded to fill the empty coffee bean receptacle on the out of order machine didn't even look at the machine right next to it that was down to practically the last cup's worth when it would have been obvious that this machine would also stop working which it then promptly did, again causing customers delay getting coffee. There was no fresh orange juice available and the tropical juice they did have tasted very watered down.
