Guest UserI spent a long time choosing this guesthouse on Ctrip. What attracted me was its: airport/train station pick-up and drop-off service, special breakfast, proximity to taxis, elevator, laundry room, smart toilet, separate wet and dry areas in the bathroom, water dispenser, fruit and drinks, and foot bath. I stayed two nights and would recommend it to friends; the twin room was incredibly spacious.
The owner's mom makes amazing bread! She even packed it up for us when we left.
The owner also helped with laundry, drying, and neatly folding our clothes before bringing them to our room.
It's very convenient for those driving, as it's close to the parking garage entrance.
I ate at Wei Zhuang Datong Restaurant nearby twice, and I thought it was even better than Feng Ling Ge.
There were several weddings in the area over the past two days; I could hear the electronic fireworks every day.

The place is very clean, and the environment is really cozy, making for a very comfortable stay. The shower pressure is fantastic, I'm very satisfied, it's such great value! The staff (specifically, a young lady) was very welcoming and even thoughtfully prepared breakfast for us. Five-star recommendation!

Elena ProkipchinOne of the best hotels we’ve ever stayed at in China!
We honestly didn’t expect to be this impressed. From the moment we arrived, everything was absolutely perfect.
The hotel itself is incredibly beautiful and atmospheric. Every corner is thoughtfully designed, making it feel like you’re staying in a boutique museum rather than a hotel. The entire property is incredibly aesthetic, and every part of it is a perfect spot for beautiful photos.
We stayed in a stunning two-level room, which completely exceeded our expectations. It was spacious, stylish, exceptionally comfortable, and spotlessly clean. Every little detail had been carefully considered.
The location couldn’t be better—right in the heart of Datong Ancient Town. We could walk everywhere, with all the main attractions, restaurants, and beautiful streets just a few minutes away.
The staff were some of the friendliest we’ve ever met. Everyone was genuinely welcoming, kind, and always happy to help, making us feel at home from the very first moment.
Breakfast was also excellent. Instead of a buffet, a freshly prepared traditional Chinese breakfast was served each morning. It was delicious, beautifully presented, and the perfect start to the day.
One of the nicest surprises was that guests can borrow traditional Chinese costumes free of charge for a photo shoot around the hotel. Unfortunately, we didn’t have enough free time to try it ourselves, but it’s such a wonderful idea and gives us another reason to come back.
We travel a lot and have stayed in countless hotels around the world, so it’s actually very difficult to surprise us. But this hotel genuinely did.
If it were possible to give 100 stars instead of 5, we absolutely would. Even if we really wanted to find something to complain about, we honestly couldn’t. Everything was simply perfect.
Without any doubt, this is one of the best hotel experiences we’ve ever had. If we ever return to Datong, we won’t even consider staying anywhere else. We will definitely come back.
Highly, highly recommended!

I've been to Datong twice, and this time I stayed in a guesthouse in the ancient city, which was a truly different experience. First off, the service was impeccable, far superior to any star-rated hotel. From booking to check-in and check-out, the staff's service-oriented mindset was excellent and incredibly thoughtful. Next, the decor: it's anything but the cookie-cutter style you find in hotels. From the lobby to the rooms, everything is unique and distinctive, I'd say it's an Italian style. The bedding and amenities in the room are all branded, and there's plenty of hot water. Breakfast is a nine-grid affair, and the sliced noodles were delicious. The coffee at the front desk was also good. They even offer free try-ons for travel photography outfits. Overall, the experience was fantastic and really changed my perception of guesthouses. I'll definitely come back to experience it again if I get the chance!

The room was great, and the underfloor heating kept it very warm. The courtyard (siheyuan) is absolutely beautiful. The underground parking was also very convenient. The service was excellent. I didn't use my car for two days, so leaving wasn't the smoothest. I had to rush to Yungang Grottoes and left before 7 AM, getting a bit delayed at the entrance. The parking fee was 100 RMB (even though there was a free parking voucher, it didn't link successfully), but the owner paid it for me. This is a very responsible establishment, and both the owner and the housekeeper are wonderful. The location is super convenient, and the breakfast is incredibly delicious. Many thanks!

This guesthouse boasts a wonderfully elegant ambiance and a truly superb location. Stepping out, you're right on Gulou East Street, perfect for exploring, and Southeast Yi is just a few minutes' walk away. Despite its bustling street location, the guesthouse's courtyard offers surprising tranquility. We slept soundly through the night and woke up naturally, completely undisturbed.
The owner and the housekeeper were incredibly thoughtful and attentive. They were always ready to answer any questions, from before our arrival until our departure, and their responses were always very detailed. Every day, the housekeeper would kindly ask us what time we'd like breakfast the next morning, and at the agreed time, she'd even come to our room door to let us know it was ready.
I absolutely adored it!!! If I ever visit again, I would definitely choose Yishui Street.

Guest UserThis was my favorite hotel on this trip.
First, upon arriving at the hotel parking area, a friendly and smiling uncle from the hotel parking lot enthusiastically guided us to a spot. We wanted to fast charge our car, so we parked in the fast-charging area (Yabei something parking zone). The staff at the Yabei parking area, who are not hotel employees, were very unfriendly. They said we could charge but to move the car quickly after it was done. We experienced being shooed away by that staff member twice in one day while charging, and he even warned us that if we didn't move the car after charging, he would lock it. I asked the uncle at the hotel's parking area, and he said it was fine to move the car after charging, and that the hotel has plenty of parking spaces. He also mentioned that the staff member didn't bother with gasoline cars occupying charging spots.
During check-in, I didn't want to go out for takeout that evening and wanted to find a chair. I called the front desk, and it was an automated voice. A Datang staff member called me back to verify and then delivered the item.
After dinner, my child wanted to go to the pool. We arrived at the pool around 9 PM. I asked to borrow a swimming ring inflator. The front desk staff said there was no need to inflate it, as we wouldn't be able to play for long because it was closing soon. It seemed like they didn't really want us to go in. I said, ”Isn't it open until 10?” She said the pool needed to be cleaned and we wouldn't be able to play for more than a few minutes, though she did lend me the inflator. I ignored her and took my child to the pool. The staff inside the pool didn't shoo us away. We played for about 30 minutes, and around 9:45 PM, the pool staff said they needed to clean the pool and to come back tomorrow. So we went back to our room.
Overall, the stay was a good experience. The staff were generally friendly. It would be better if the hotel's own fast-charging area and pool clearly stated their operating hours and closing times.

We had a happy experience checking in at this hotel. The receptionist was very pleasant and helpful. We loved our room! It was bright and cheerful and spacious. The shower and drainage was very good.
Location is fantastic, near the railway station and many bus services, especially for going to Yungang grottoes. There was a mall, with a hypermarket in the basement and minimarts around.
What we like most was there was a washing machine and dryer for guests to use, free of charge!
If we ever come to Datong again, we would stay here. Highly recommend this place!

The room was super spacious, clean, tidy, and the bedding was comfortable. The service was warm and attentive, and the front desk was efficient. The breakfast was plentiful, with local specialties like lamb offal soup and knife-cut noodles. Free underground parking was also very convenient. Overall, it offers great value for money. The location of the hotel is perfect. It is the right place to stay when visiting the Hanging Temple and Jin Temple. The room and bed are large, especially suitable for bringing children. It is no problem for a family of three to stay in a big bed. The bathroom is separated into dry and wet areas. The breakfast is also very good. Overall, it is very cost-effective.
