GGuest UserI can’t stop raving about this inn. It is a B&B style three stories tall inn located inside the Datong Ancient City. Complimentary shuttle service between the airport or railway station made it really convenient for out of town travelers. The guest room was clean and equipped with modern facilities like automatic toilets, coded entry, projection screens, etc. The inn is located near the north gate of the city amongst other accommodations. Within minutes of walking is access to the top of the city wall where bike rental is available to ride along the wall. The inn is very quiet at night. The inn is family operated and everyone was very hospitable. What sets this inn apart from other accommodations in the area is their dedication to service. The owner knew I was a tourist and new to the area, she offered to pick me up if I got lost wandering the ancient city. The breakfast came with my reservation. When the owner found out I had to depart before breakfast serving hours, she went above and beyond to prepare food and served me 30 minutes ahead of schedule. The food tasted amazing and came with abundant varieties and huge portions. It was definitely not part of the service to drop off at another venue, but the owner took me to my next accommodation 2km away. I truly appreciate everything this inn and its staff has done for me. I am so glad to have chosen to stay this beautiful little inn on my first night in Datong. I will definitely stay here again without a doubt on my next visit.

They proactively communicated with me even before I arrived and, upon check-in, immediately provided a meticulously prepared guide covering attractions, transportation, and local food – truly a one-stop solution that saved me so much hassle. The local snacks they recommended were authentic and delicious; following their advice, I never had a bad meal. The guesthouse itself is clean and elegant, with a prime location that makes getting around very convenient. The service is genuine and attentive, making for an absolutely wonderful experience. It was a super heartwarming trip, and I genuinely recommend it to everyone!

The owner was very friendly and welcoming. They kindly picked us up at the railway station and helped us arrange a car rental to visit Xuankong Temple, Yingxian Wooden Pagoda, and the Yungang Grottoes.
The breakfast was also delicious and a great way to start the day.
Their hospitality and assistance made our trip much easier and more enjoyable.

GGuest UserI have to give a special shout-out to the breakfast at the Grand Metropark Datong Dayou Plaza! I stayed for a few days and every morning was a delight. They have freshly made sliced noodles with a rich broth and perfectly chewy noodles, truly authentic Shanxi flavor. The variety of hot dishes, cold dishes, congees, and fruits was extensive, and they even rotated them daily – I stayed for three days and never had the same meal twice. The restaurant environment is clean and bright, they refill dishes promptly, and the staff are incredibly enthusiastic. But what truly stands out is the service, from the front desk to housekeeping to the restaurant, everyone greets you with a smile. When I checked in, the front desk attendant proactively offered me hot tea and patiently helped me plan my itinerary for exploring the ancient city. Checking out and getting the invoice took less than three minutes – so efficient and heartwarming. It genuinely felt like coming home. Highly recommended!

*The place is close to the scenic spot (few minutes by car).
*The breakfast is not too bad. Few choices but it will fill you up.No drinks (juice or coffee).
*The accomodation was nice to drop and pick us up at the scenic area.They dropped us off to the bus station going to Datong city.
*Problem was the bad odour coming from the toilet. We think it’s from the drainage. We can’t even open the door for few minutes for air to come in because it is freezing. It’s negative degrees.
*The room was nice and comfortable. I can’t find photos or video of the interior. The size of the room is perfect. It has a long bench.Table with 1 small chair.Tv, closet, slippers,toothbrush, hair dryer,kettle and 2 bottle of water.

KKizzaI had a great one night stay at the Hauting Hotel. It’s a large, modern hotel conveniently located in a building attached to a big shopping centre, which made it easy to grab food or essentials. The rooms were clean, spacious, and comfortable, with individual heating and cooling and electric opening and closing window dressings.
The shower had excellent water temperature and pressure, and the bathroom was well-stocked with quality toiletries including shampoo, body wash, toothbrush, and toothpaste. A great bonus was the free laundry facilities. It has a gym also but I didn’t try that.
Breakfast featured a nice spread of Asian cuisine, and the staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful throughout my stay. Overall, a great experience and excellent value for money. Would definitely recommend it to others visiting Datong.

GGuest UserThe location of the hotel is perfect. It is the right place to stay when visiting the Hanging Temple and Jin Temple. The room and bed are large, especially suitable for bringing children. It is no problem for a family of three to stay in a big bed. The bathroom is separated into dry and wet areas. The breakfast is also very good. Overall, it is very cost-effective.

YYang JianpingOur stay at Yunqi Xiangshe was a truly delightful experience. The hotel is newly built, beautifully designed, and incredibly comfortable. From the moment we arrived, the owner welcomed us warmly, making us feel right at home.
The property offers private parking, which is very convenient, and it’s just a few minutes’ walk to the heart of the ancient city—an ideal location for exploring Datong. Each room is thoughtfully decorated, blending modern style with artistic touches that reflect the owner’s care and refined taste.
Each morning, we were treated to a beautifully prepared breakfast, along with complimentary coffee and tea throughout the day. It’s those small, thoughtful details that really elevate the experience.
In short, Yunqi Xiangshe is a perfect combination of comfort, style, and heartfelt hospitality. I would gladly recommend it to all my friends and look forward to returning again in the future

SShanyuzheGreat beauty and harmony! The location of the hotel is very good, between Datong Ancient City and Yungang Grottoes. The environment is good. I will stay here again next time! When you come to Datong, it is recommended to go to the Long Juxiang Hotel near the Fourth Archway. Go early and line up, the food is very good; the Nine Dragon Wall, Huayan Temple and the ancient city wall in the ancient city are all very good!
