As soon as I arrived at the hotel, I got the benefit of room upgrade, which was such a surprise! There is free fruit as soon as you enter the room! The room is huge! The room is super comfortable! There is a sauna! There is a bathtub! Stayed for three days and soaked for three days! This is the most value-for-money experience in the more than ten years since I signed up as a Ctrip member (previously registered by Ctrip staff in handwriting while waiting at the airport)! marvelous!

Ascott Raffles Chengdu is conveniently located from various tourist attractions. Our stay was lovely. They also upgraded us from a studio apartment to a one bedroom apartment and it was absolutely lovely. They even went to the extend of preparing a surprise cake for my husband as it was his birthday. I would greatly recommend this stay to anyone visiting Chengdu for a holiday. Cheers to the good service throughout the whole stay.

The hotel is in good location, clean, people are friendly as are other people in Chengdu. We have good experience with Grace Guo in Cafe K, very helpful and friendly, a very good person and SL employee, thank you Grance!!! So we indeed have few meals in Cafe K. However, the experience in Chinese restaurant 香宫 is awful, food is not good and the tea is so expensive, they charged us RMB250 for a pot of Chinese tea, the red wine is RMB240, omg, very bad. We would not go there again, I mean 香宫.

I was surprised when arrived cause many comments mentioned that was not a 5 star hotel . Welcome gift at the reception and also English speaking staff . Rooms were old style but very comfortable with all the 5star amenities. Gym and swimming pool are great !!! Only negative was that on breakfast you couldn’t choose type of eggs … I will come again for sure

I chose Mingyu Shangya again. The hotel is still first-rate. I sent a message to the housekeeper Xiao Li in advance, and he helped me arrange the room and gave me a welcome fruit. The service was warm and professional. He also helped me to check out late. I stayed in a river view room, which was quite large and close to the river. The view was beautiful. The hotel also offers free parking. It is worth recommending [strong]. I will choose Mingyu again next time.

Well located near the intercity bus stop. Rooms are very large, nice bathroom with good amenities. Beds are extremely comfortable. TV in the room with hundreds of channels. The best part is that it is near restaurants. Right outside you can rent bikes and explore the city. There is a restaurant on site as well, but didn't try it. If on a budget and looking for a one or two night stay it's a good option. Booked one night and then added another for convenience.

The hotel is close to the subway station. It is very convenient to enter. It is only one station away from Chunxi Road. There are night stalls selling food downstairs in the hotel. I recommend the grilled cold noodle stalls, fried skewers stalls and spicy skewers stalls. They are delicious! The hotel has a Japanese style, is comfortable and tidy overall, and has a light woody scent. The hotel staff, both the front desk clerk and the cleaning lady, are very friendly. As soon as you check in, the housekeeper adds you on WeChat. If you need anything, just ask. Xiao Zhao, the housekeeper, responds very quickly. I like it.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Our room was clean, huge for two people and had a really nice tatami setup with a tea table. Breakfast is great though it’s just Chinese cuisine so choose to have breakfast elsewhere if that’s not for you. The hotel offers 3 local snacks daily from 2-10pm, which pretty much served as dinner for us. Personal favourites were the dan dan noodles and tang yuan (glutinous rice balls). Hotel is located 5min away from Sichuan Gymnasium metro station (~1 hr+ from tianfu international airport) and located in proximity to the local attractions eg wu hou shrine, wen shu temple, kuan zhai alley, people’s park, cheng du museum etc. which were all ＜10-20 min drive away via Didi (uber equivalent - they have an English app if you need it and a real life saver). Even the ancient towns eg Luo dai, Jie zi, yuan tong were very accessible from this hotel with Didi (~1 hr’s drive away) where public transport will take ~2-3 hours with service ending around 5pm.

Always an incredible stay! Kelly and the hotel staff are so friendly. They stored my luggage while I was away and helped me receive deliveries in advance. The room was very clean, modern, and spacious. It was romantic and the couch gave a great atmosphere. The hotel service is very attentive - all my needs were met. Breakfast buffet is delicious, gym/sauna amenities are clean. If you come to Chengdu, I highly recommend staying at Somerset! I will be back soon.
