Siripanna Villa Resort & Spa Chiang Mai

We always like to start with the good so here was the good. The staff at Siripanna Villa was friendly, helpful, courteous and spoke fine english. The rooms are spacious with plenty of outlets, and storage. Unfortunately the bad outweighed the good. Here is our list and it lines up with many others: 1). The hotel is past its prime and could use significant renovations. The bathrooms were dark and the beds were HARD AS A ROCK. The massage tables we enjoyed around Chiang Mai would have been a welcome respite rather than the beds. 2). The bugs in the lobby and breakfast area were a bit much, not to mention the stray cat that decided to join us one morning. The breakfast was less than expected compared to the rest of the 4/5 star hotels we have stayed at in Thailand (so far). 3). The location is not convenient to much of the great things to enjoy in Chiang Mai. 2 examples, our 1st day we decided to hit the closest massage as soon as we arrived. We found that the 1.8 mile walk through back streets was a bit much. 2nd, we wanted sushi for our last meal last night. We took a Grab taxi that was almost 300 Baht (for those who count taxi rides in massages, that is 1 extra Thai massage we could have enjoyed!) 4). Our room smelled like mold and there are no washcloths provided in the room. In fairness, Covid may have hit the Siripanna Villa hard as the Italian restaurant that was on the property was permanently shut down. We hope this review is useful to others....PS If you want to experience the BEST elephant farm experience in Chiang Mai you should visit Patara. They provided an INCREDIBLE day for us.

Khum Phaya Resort & Spa Boutique Collection

Chiang Mai|2.44km from Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses
I stayed here the first week of January 2023. The architecture and grounds are very beautiful, however, the property is starting to show its age. And on checking into my room, I noticed that there were some nails popping out of the floor. Fortunately, I didn’t cut myself on them. Maintenance was very quick to remedy this. I’m not sure if some of the shower fixtures need to be repaired or it’s just a matter of a lack of water pressure. This is not a resort you would stay in if you’re looking to spend a lot of time in the old town. It is at least a 25 minute drive. Given this was my second trip to Chiang Mai I came to relax and sightseeing was a lower priority so I didn’t mind that it was far from town. The breakfast buffet was just OK. It did have an egg station however, it seems to be difficult to keep the self-serve items hot. And there was also a mediocre Asian breakfast buffet. I prefer to order coffee than use their machine. Given the cost of breakfast it would’ve been better to have à la cart. NOW THE GOOD PARTS: Fai at spa: I do think Fai was the star of the resort staff. She was very kind, professional providing a great massage. I’m sorry I only went over to the spa once. Wait staff: i’m sorry I don’t remember their names, but I found the serving staff to be very friendly and polite. A couple of waiters at dinner were very helpful with recommendations that I found very good. Dinner: I had dinner most evenings at the resort. I thought it was reasonably priced. I love the Pad Thai and on multiple nights had to order dessert, mango and sticky rice. Both excellent. A couple of evenings I had different types of northern Thai stew that was very good. Room with pool access: I enjoyed having the room with pool access. And I thought the room was a good size and the bed was very comfortabl. There is a small patio with two chairs and a table as you walk out of your room. It’s a nice place to sit and read by the pool. The pool does have a swim up bar which was never opened the week I was there. I’m not sure why. It wasn’t a big deal because it wasn’t something I was that interested in. The pool was well-maintained and cleaned twice a day. The resort needs to determine if it wants to be 2 or 3 star or a 4 star. You either have to lower your price or improve the rooms and breakfast.

Stay again for sure Reserve a family room, a spacious room, a comfortable bed, 2 rubber pillows, open the door to see the pool view. It is a salt water pool, not very deep, so children can play. very like children The service personnel are good, friendly, there are services and facilities that are convenient and ready. The only disadvantage is that the entrance is quite narrow. Because coming to the Fortuner car, the entrance is very suitable for the car, there is a risk of scratching the car And if it's still a rather sharp curve But inside the hotel is very ok It's private, not loud at all. Come to stay again, of course, the price is very cheap. Must come if Chiang Mai to relax and save the budget. The place is in the city too. very ok with this place Check-in a little bit late, that is, the staff did not adjust the price. I like it very much 💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖 💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖 💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖 Stay again for sure. March 2022 to August 2022: I live in Chiang Mai and my mother is visiting from India and this was a perfect location based on our location to put her up at. Daily rates include breakfast and cleaning. We opted for monthly and got a great deal. She's been living here since March. Rooms are good, big enough, clean, fresh, good beds, air conditioning, refrigerator, kettle and if you go for the bigger room and the family room you get a small workable kitchen with a electric gas and chimney. Water and laundry machines are in the building. They can come for cleaning your room and changing the sheets at a nominal cost. There is a restaurant (limited hours and limited but good food and coffee), gym, swimming pool. Parking space is available. We'll connected to the city with cabs and I'm sure the reception can help and guide you. They are very prompt in their communication. There's a small garden and play space. Clean and tidy. Quiet and peaceful. Free WiFi. Recommended for everyone, single, couples, family.
Choktawee Residence and Mansion

The hotel gives a feeling like an apartment or a mansion as the name of the hotel. (It is estimated that it should be renovated into a hotel later) but the condition inside the room is still quite new. Furniture, cabinet, bed, work desk, shelf, complete set. There is a large refrigerator available in the room as well. There will be a balcony in some rooms. Which our room is just right The air conditioner in the room is cool. But the blanket is a little thin The surrounding atmosphere is quiet. Parking is both under the building and outdoor, spacious, comfortable to park many cars. The only criticism is that the bathroom water flows not very strong. The sink drain pipe leaks. improve the condition of the bathroom better,it will be perfect,it is worth the price
Welladee Wellness Chiang Mai

I have stayed here for almost three weeks, and I just don't want to leave. The hotel offers a 5-star service at a 3-star price, and that itself is a reason to stay here. The rooms are comfortable, everything is immaculately clean, and everyone working here is kind and helpful. However, the main reason you want to stay here is to sign up for a pilates package. I'd never done pilates before, and I regret I didn't discover it ten years ago. The teachers here are amazing - they made me change my understanding of fitness and wellness. I feel lighter, more agile, yet stronger and more resilient - after just a dozen sessions. Add to that the healthy food and the calming ambience, and you will find that Welladee isn't just a hotel - it is a place that can change your life.

There is only one light in the room, at the mirror. It may not be too familiar to people who like bright lights. Hotels next to the main road may have some noise. The bathroom is too small, but it's enough. The room isn't soundproof, making it difficult to talk. Sound may escape. When we go out, the housekeeper will come in and clean. This one is not very okay because it has become our personal space. If you want to come in, you should inform us first or have the staff notify you during check-in. It would be good.

Perfect location for the train station but a little far out for visiting Chiang Mai. Lots of parking available. The staff were friendly and helpful, room was clean and great air-conditioning. Free tea and coffee available downstairs 24/7. Good food options available on foodpanda and some restaurants nearer the station. Small swimming pool was also available to use, which I didn't see in any of the listing but was a brilliant surprise! We would definitely stay again if we needed to be near the train station, we were really surprised how good it was for the price.
Rainforest ChiangMai Hotel

I am currently staying at the Rainforest Boutique hotel. It is such a laid back lovely hotel the staff are amazing so helpful and friendly the rooms are basic, clean and comfortable, but fabulously spacious, well the deluxe room is can't comment on the others as I'm in a deluxe with a super king size bed. Sunken Lanna bath separate shower room and separate toilet, then a separate dressing area. It has two pools. A lovely open air restaurant. Laid in bed on a night you can hear the rainforest noises and the flow from the pool waterfall. It's not far out of the main city a taxi into the city or tuktuk will cost around a 100 bhat roughly £3. It offers a free shuttle bus service to the night market at 8pm each night Mr lucky the bus, come taxi driver is so lovely and full of fantastic information about the history of Chiang Mia and where to go. You can book private personalized tours with him cheaper than you can with the tour company. He is that lovely as I was walking along the road he stopped while riding his motorbike and asked where I was going when I told him just up the road to the 7/11 store he said hop on I'll drop you off I'm going past when I asked how much he said no charge. His sons also drive taxis so there is always one available at cheap prices. It's a little hidden gem is the Rainforest Boutique hotel would definitely stay here again instead of in the old city oh and the price is very cheap💕
