One of the highlights of our trip - also caught the taxi boat which at $16 a head was a bargain. If you have time, a trip to the zoo (free) is a must Red bus tour at $50 each a rip off $5 daily ticket for their overground local loop trains was a bargain Expect to pay $12-15 for a glass of wine

This hotel is good in all aspects, the front desk service is good, we have a few friends staying together, it feels like this, the room and other facilities are OK, it is very convenient to drive from the airport and follow the navigation.

If you are claustrophobic, this may not be the hotel for you. It is cute and clean, the staff was all amiable, and it is in a stellar location. However, this is a 100+-year-old building, and charming as it may be, the age of the building shows. The two elevators are tiny. We were in a single queen room on the 16th floor. The hallways to our room were super narrow, and the room was quite possibly the tiniest hotel room I have ever stayed in. The bathroom is tight with no extra space to unpack toiletries so I was thankful to have a hanging organizer with me. The room was clean and adequate, bed was comfortable enough for one night, and breakfast the next morning was the usual HI Express fare, which is always a pleasure. We chose this hotel for the location.

This is a catfish hotel! There are absolutely no amenities! No pool, no bar, no microwave. There was a refrigerator. TV cable does not work. WI-FI does not work! It kept saying their internet was not on a secure internet and that the license expired. The layout of this hotel is weird. They have more seating for their employees than they do for their guests in the small lobby! Very tacky! There is a total of four lounge chairs to sit very closely in front of staff. The worst lounge seating I’ve ever seen in a hotel. I was also nervous about staying here because of all the commentary on the previous incidents. I should have read thoroughly the reviews. There is security here however. The staff is pleasant but I don’t think they do anything other be pleasant. There is nothing that has become useful for me. I’ve read reviews about the not comping rooms due to a change in the room. This place sucks! I will NEVER stay here AGAIN! The only plus was that it was quiet on my floor but that could’ve been because this place is practically empty. Also it’s very close to the shops on the magnificent mile and other places that are popular. Still not worth staying in. This hotel has motel standards. That’s what I feel like I stayed in. I don’t understand why the rating is so high unless the staff is coming in here writing fake reviews. Please make sure you read reviews before booking the hotel or any hotel. Lesson learned for me.

Excellent hotel, from every point of view. I will stay again in it, no doubt. Breakfast was superbly good. And all the people at the hotel, from the front office to the luggage storage, provided an amazing service. Kudos to you Hyatt and your people!

This is probably one of the best hostels I've stayed at in the U.S. I've stayed at this hostel twice now. The first time was in 2015 and the second time this past month for Market Days. Location: The hostel is centrally located in Downtown Chicago/the Loop. It's easily accessible to get to and from O'Hare Airport via the Blue Line which runs 24 hours. The closest CTA station is Jackson Station which also has connections to many other CTA lines. The hostel is also located within walking distance to many other tourist hotspots like Millennium Park, Broadway shows, Lou Malnati's Pizza (10 minutes), etc. There's also a CVS Pharmacy at the corner of the street that sells liquor and other essentials. On the weekday, the area is bustling with downtown workers, but on the weekends, it's like a ghost town. Most restaurants and stores close by 8/9pm. The only place to eat at if you have a late night is Taco Bell which closes at 2am. Another downside is that there are a lot of homeless people that have set up camp in front and around the hostel, so some people may feel unsafe walking around. Security: The property is very secure. There are multiple entry points to get into the hostel with a key card. There's another entry point to get access to the elevator banks that lead to the rooms as well as required card access to go upstairs and into the rooms. There's also a 24-hour front desk. This was a saving grace for me because my flight from New York was delayed that I ended up arriving at 3:30am. Keep in mind, if you plan to arrive after 3am, you should notify/call the front desk and let them know otherwise they'll mark you as a no-show and cancel your reservation. They also have storage lockers/a luggage room for a fee. Facilities/Amenities: My original reservation was for a 4-bed male dormitory, but there was someone sleeping in my assigned bunk. When you arrive, there is a fitted sheet, pillow sheets, a bath towel, and a face towel (no comforter). You are expected to make your bed. Since I arrived so late and my roommates were already asleep, the overnight staff (DJ) was nice enough to put me in an 8-bed dormitory that was unoccupied, so that I didn't wake up anyone. Both rooms were very spacious/high ceilings/massive windows with a lot of space to store luggage and walk around. All the rooms have lockers (bring your own lock or buy one at the front desk). In the 4-bed dorm, there is a common area with a kitchen/bathroom that connects with 2 suites. The 8-bed room is setup where the toilet, shower, and sink are all in separate areas instead of all in one room. The shower area has dispensers for body wash, shampoo, and conditioner. There are also common showers and toilets on every floor. The downside of the dormitory is that you can't control the temperature of the room. Summers in Chicago are hot and humid and the room was kept in the 60s, which I loved. But, my roommates thought it was too cold for them. The WiFi access is very stable and fast. Th

I booked a room at this hotel because of the positive reviews and I was not disappointed. The rate I got was pretty good. If you book online via the hotel's website, you can save some money. I actually called and talked to someone at the hotel because on one day, we had 2 people staying and on another day, we had 3 people staying (because my husband was flying in to join us later) and the rates were different depending on the number of people staying. This is standard procedure in some European countries, so I wasn't completely shocked. The room we had was small, but clean. Because of COVID, we were told there wouldn't be any housekeeping and if we needed anything (like towels), we could come to the front desk. We didn't have a great view, like one of the other reviews we had read, but I did like the location. The hotel is located on the edge of Chinatown, so there are many restaurants within a 5-10 minute walk. There is also a metro station that is about a 5 minute walk from the hotel, in the Chinatown parking lot. In fact, we parked our car there for 2 nights. I was a little worried about somebody breaking into it, as it is a surface lot, but no such thing happened. In fact, there are lots of cars parked in the lot at any one time. I would definitely stay at this hotel again. I LOVE the location!

It is very close to the airport, a little more than walking distance, and it costs 30 dollars for Uber to come here in the early morning. The hotel is equipped with a special car to send you to the airport, at midnight on the hour, and during the day when it is busy, it is basically half an hour. Sleeping conditions are good. Pay attention to the shower head to the bottom, which is basically a 360-degree opening range. Praise!

Kudos to the team at the Hilton Oak Brook Hills. Friendly, accommodating and eager to please, they take a premiere property and make it comfortable and accessible. My partners and my team have stayed many a night there - and will be back for more! A suburban Chicago jewel!
