"The location of the hotel is OK, not far from Zhangye West Station. The facilities are satisfactory. Breakfast is served at a cooperating restaurant outside on the first floor. There is a bowl of noodles, a combination of cold dishes and tea eggs. The hygiene is also average. However, there are mosquitoes in the room and the child was bitten a lot. After asking the front desk to send electric mosquito coils, there was some effect."

"This is a folk village, which is very well built overall. There are restaurants, shops, and many B&Bs. We stayed in the Jifangli B&B, which is a courtyard building. The decoration is very design-conscious. The boss is warm and thoughtful, and provides us with There is a washing machine and clothes drying rack, and the small yard is very beautiful. "It was my first time to visit Zhangye and I stayed at the Jiancheng Holiday Hotel, which gave me a home away from home experience. The hotel front desk enthusiastically helped us take our luggage into the elevator, and warmly informed us of the hotel's meal times and when the fruit would be delivered. The hotel rooms are spacious and bright, and the disposable supplies are high-end. The price/performance ratio is much higher than that of hotels in some tourist cities. "It looks like a high-end hotel. The hotel's location is pretty good. Downstairs is the Thumb Up Liangpi restaurant recommended by a friend. Across the street is the Big Buddha Temple. You can walk to the internet-famous Dongji Beef Rice, which is a dozen minutes' walk from Ganzhou Alley. The hotel has convenient parking, both on-ground and underground. However, the hotel's hardware facilities are a bit old. The biggest flaw is that there is no independent air conditioning. The nights in Zhangye were already very cold during the National Day holiday. The heating didn't come on and the air conditioning couldn't be turned on. I hope it will be improved."

Perfect

VVendlerWe stayed 4 nights at the Runhu Hotel while we visited all the tourist attractions around Zhangye, including trips to the Gobi desert, Ping Shan Hu (Grand Canyon), the Alien Valley and other sites. The hotel - which is clean, spacious and quiet - has motivated employees who are happy to meet any request. The restaurant is actually very good with reasonable prices the buffet breakfast also was varied and of very good quality. The hotel also provides such services as nightly warm milk deliver and a foot soaking tub with epsom salts with no extra charge. The hotel also referred us to a driver with his own very nice and well kept car. He, Mr. Li, went way above and beyond what anyone could expect. He provided snacks, fruits, water and some sort of local soft drink and arranged tickets in advance where reservations were required and made sure to adapt those reservations when the weather closed one of the sites. His recommendations for local food at or near the various sites were also spot on. While the places were simple (and very inexpensive), the food was honest and good. You can bank on Mr. Li to make sure everything goes along smoothly. All you have to do is tell him what you want to see, or ask him for recommendations, and he will do the rest. In short, splendid hotel for the price with terrific service and if you need a driver, Mr. Li is your guy!

JJohanna S.A great budget-friendly stay in Zhangye! We had a private twin room. The room was simple but cute, with rather hard Asian-style beds (which was fine for us). It's very central and surrounded by food spots and shops. Loved the traveler vibe here; easy to meet friends. The hostel organizes affordable, well-planned tours, and the English-speaking staff were super helpful. Highly recommend for backpackers!

Sstarcc100Can I say that this is the best and most cost-effective hotel I have stayed in during this trip to the Northwest. The entire lobby is clean and bright, the service staff are well-trained and humble, the rooms are spacious, comfortable, clean and tidy, the layout is reasonable, and the breakfast is rich. It's great, but it's a pity that I only stayed for one night. It's very close to the West Station, the Drum Tower and Ganzhou Night Market, it's great!

AAnonymous UserOn baidu map, it says that from Zhangye railway station to the hotel is about 3 km but when actually navigating my way over while carrying a luggage, it was so much further than I'd expect because Zhnagye's road and traffic are quite chaotic. Many traffic lights aren't even in operation and there are quite a few (3 I think) t+junctions that pedestrian have to cross via the underpass. The cars doesn't quite obey the traffic lights, so be careful and cautious. For the hotel itself, it's definitely one of my favorite overall, out of my 3 hotel stays during my trip. According to the receptionist I was offered a room upgrade, so thank you! There were also lots of free treats evertime I cleared it, so thank you again! Love especially the red dates yogurt, it's definitely a must try (although they were 2-3days after expiry). I even went out to the grocery to get more! Regarding the amenities, the air conditioner works but can't be controlled. Tried setting temp to 5 degree Celsius (lowest settings) and 30 degree celcius (highest setting), both doesn't work. It seems like it is fixed to room temp +/- a few degrees based on the temp outdoor. One of the day I had sunburn and wanted to cool off but due to how the temp was determined, I have no choice but to sweat it out. Other than that, the tap water here had very visible residue that you can tell that it isn't clear, so I really recommend not using it for drinking water boiled or not. Aon my last day, I wanted to try the bathtub but when I turned on the tap, I had a shock. The water that came out was brown, so I cancelled my initial plan of using it for relaxation 😕. There is also a humidifier provided and I am super grateful for that, however the water ran out on the 2nd day and I can't seem to fill it up correctly. The toilet bowl is also a smart toilet bowl, but I didn't realized it after closer inspection while trying to find how to flush. Lastly, I was so looking forward to the stars celling but it's kinda sad that you can't turn it on on its own without having the other lights turned on as well. Which honestly defeats the purpose of having a star gazing celling.

GGuo HaoWe had a fantastic stay which was made even better by a complimentary upgrade upon check-in. The upgraded room was spacious, comfortable, and had toiletries for kids. There are many amenities available and the toiletries given is definitely more then the other hotels. Bottled water are easily accessible in every floor which is a great idea. The staff were friendly and attentive, always ready to help with any requests. The meals in the hotel are tasty with huge portions given. Overall, it was an excellent experience and will definitely come back again.

GGuest UserThe newly opened hotel has a good environment and is clean and hygienic. When you enter the hotel lobby, you will feel that the service is very thoughtful. There are fruits, small cakes, etc., and lemonade and apricot peel water are also prepared. The whole house is smart, the hotel has a washing machine and a gym, and the toiletries and bathroom supplies are good. The bath towels and towels are also super clean. We booked a room without breakfast, and the hotel sent us breakfast thoughtfully. The key is that the breakfast is very rich, with milk, soy milk, coffee, juice, porridge, and pastries such as fried dumplings, custard buns, and shaomai, as well as freshly fried bacon, ham slices, fried eggs, fruits, bread, hot and cold dishes. GGuest UserJust completed a wonderful three night stay at the Zhangye Holiday Inn. Perhaps most Silk Road tourists do not spend three nights in Zhangye but we wanted to visit both the popular and more “off the beaten path” historical sites nearby. This Holiday Inn is up to international standards - the staff was very professional, courteous and well trained, the rooms were modern and well-maintained, and even the buffet breakfast restaurant manager spoke English. This is probably one of the few (if not the only) more Westernized hotels in Zhangye) and we had a very good stay and experience in this hotel in Zhangye.

HHelenI booked a bed in the female dormitory for 2 nights, my friends booked other beds/rooms. The hostel has all the necessary amenities. There is even a washing machine if you need to do laundry. The bedding was fresh and clean. Plenty of sockets for charging devices. You will need to bring your own shower gel for the shower and the toilets are squat toilets which is standard in China. Met a lovely German girl while staying here. The host is a lovely and very helpful woman, she assisted us with any queries and even gave us some watermelon while we waited for our driver. If you want to visit any of the popular tourist spots in the Zhangye area she can organise a car tour for you and very reasonable prices- all very easy through WeChat. I visited the rainbow mountains/Zhangye National Geopark/Zhangye Danxia Geopark (张掖国家地质公园) and Mati Si temple (马蹄寺) while in Zhangye. The hostel is in a very good location too. The common area is nice and there is a tea station where you can help yourself to a cup of tea. All in all a very pleasant stay and I would stay here again.

AAnonymous UserFirst of all, the hotel accepts foreigners (as of June 2024). It is a rather typical 4 star hotel - the facilities were in good condition and the room was clean and spacious. The staff was also very kind. It is possible to store your luggage before check-in and/or after check out for free. The location is very central, not too far from the Big Buddha Temple etc. There are numerous shops and restaurants nearby. Do note, however, that it is quite far from the train stations, and that generally, public transportation is quite limited (especially in the evening). Overall, good value for money (especially since cheaper hotels don't seem to accept foreigners).
