We visited Lindisfarne Inn on Sunday 20 Oct. Weather was cold and bleak but we found a very warm and hospitable reception on arrival. Mikey and Harley were attentive and provided some great suggestions on what to do in the area. Service levels were excellent with great coffee & drinks. Many thanks to them for making our visit enjoyable.

Had everything we needed. Comfortable room and it was quiet. Family friendly with books, drawing and games available, along with tv and dvd films if needed. Food is available at meal times and children eat for a £1 with a paying adult. There is a large kitchen with 3 separate booths for cooking. There is lots of equipment to use and fridges to store food. There is easy car parking overnight with a 24 hr free car park nearby for the daytime as the car park outside is a short stay car park. From the YHA you can walk straight out onto the town wall. A short walk around to a good play park.
Location of this hotel is no doubt the best on the island being right next to the church and priory and with excellent views of the castle and the sea. Great beer garden out the front which was the perfect spot for an afternoon beer and to watch the sunset. Breakfast on the two mornings we were there were very fulfilling and both nights we ate dinner at the hotel and the portion sizes were extremely generous. Richard that organised breakfast for us was extremely friendly and helpful giving us some great tips on what we could do on the island and in the area. if we were ever to return to Holy Island I would definitely return to Manor House and will certainly be recommending to others as well.
Hosted by the ever so friendly Barbara, what an amazing find. We stayed with our two children, and had a fantastic time. Located in stunning countryside with amazing views, the house is absolutely spotless and incredibly well managed. The rooms are super, with a stunning view of the rolling countryside, perfect for a 4 person family. The cooked breakfast was superb, made to order and great quality. On an evening there is a lounge for relaxing that also has a Guest fridge so cold beers are a possibility providing that you are organized. The silence on a night is unbelievable. Barbara and Her husband are also a great font of knowledge for the local area, and immediately told us of the most appropriate beach that is only 10 minutes drive away with ample free parking. The coastline in this part of the country is stunning, with beaches rocks and a general absence of tourists! We will return!
Great service and welcome from Jo and her team. We had booked most of the hotel for a golf society and could choose from singles, doubles or family rooms which was very convenient. We requested a small meeting room at short notice which was provided allowing us to hold a quiz night and team build. Breakfast was great- good choice, cooked to order but no long wait! Rooms were clean and spacious - showers had good pressure and plenty of hot water. Most of us parked in the station car park for free from 6pm to 8 am - just a short walk from the hotel .
This is our the first visit to Northumbria and Berwick. We have been driving over 200 miles for 5 hours and felt very exhausted. All we needed was just average service and a average warm room to spend the night in and not get frozen at the night. However, we could not get even such basic service needs. First of all, there is no elevator. Therefore, a person in a wheelchair will not be able to get to the room, there all the rooms are on the upper floors. Secondly, the stairs are very narrow, it is difficult to climb them with heavy bags. Thirdly, when you come to the room, the heating is supposedly working, but in the evening and at night, the owners turn off the heating completely and the room becomes very cold. We tried to draw the owners' attention to this, they said that in other rooms the guests were wearing T-shirts and that others were felt warm. So basically they just completely ignored that the fact that we were in outerwear in the room. They promised to increase the temperature from 22 to 24, although in reality the room was no more than 14-16 degrees, maybe 18 at most in the day time. And their thermostat is on the first floor, where it may or may not be 22 degrees. Aparently this is not about the thermostat but about them not willing to provide quality service to their guests. For a while the heaters did turn on and warm us, but then we woke up again in the middle of the night realizing that we were freezing again. The heaters in the room, in the bathroom were cold and in the corridor too. Maybe guest are expected to bring a portable heater with themselves or avoid this guest house because it's really very cold here. My auntie made a brilliant photo of the cold window from the room. I do not recommend living here unless you have a portable heater with you. Also, we wanted to pay in cash, but they already charged the card when we checked in, not when we checked out. When we tried to ask why they took the money on the day of check-in and not check-out, they were rude and told me that I was the first customer who complained about freezing in the room. And they started threatening to call the police and started kicking us out, even though we hadn't even taken our bags out of the room at that time. Usually when landlords fail customer expectation, they apologize and try to win back the customers trust but not in this case. Instead of apologizing for not being able to provide a basic quality service for such a price, they were rude to us and told us that we were rude. Unheard of rudeness. I have never seen such unheard of rudeness in any hotel or guest house. Yes, and they threatened to ban me from bed and breakfast hotels. I haven't been to other hotels in this area yet, if all hotels have such a rude attitude towards customers, then maybe it's for the best. These owners should not be in the hotel business unless they can't provide quality service for the money they charge. Also, the owners shoudn't be rude to customers or should quit the

GGuest UserAbsolute gem of a find. We were looking for a reasonably priced B&B or hotel in the area and found the white swan. Room was fantastic with a ginormous king sized bed. Lovely touch as they rang me on the afternoon before we checked in to see if we wanted to book a table as they were busy with table bookings that evening. We were glad we accepted, the evening meal was out of this world and so was the breakfast next morning. We will definitely return and recommend to everyone if you want a fantastic experience in a beautiful little country village then staying here is a must!
