Hilton Hotels in Dali City

When I booked, the only accessible deluxe king room was available for the basic king room type, and it was non-cancellable, so I decisively booked it. After booking, I found out there was a cheaper deluxe king room available, and the bed was even bigger than the accessible one. So, I called the hotel to negotiate if I could cancel and rebook (it was at most 15 minutes from booking to calling). The front desk told me there was no need to cancel, and they would directly upgrade us to a lake-view king room, which I agreed to. Later, I discovered that the lake-view room and the accessible room were the same price, so there was no upgrade at all! And I'm not even sure which lake the 'lake view' refers to? Anyway, I didn't see any, only a faintly visible Erhai Lake in the distance, haha. Now, let's talk about the check-in experience. The front desk service was just... unbelievable. Since our booking included breakfast for two, we were asked to provide four IDs during check-in, otherwise, only two breakfasts would be provided. What? I paid for four servings, and I'm being forcibly restricted from using them? (Couldn't my friends, who live nearby, come over to eat with us in the morning?) Early the next morning, around 8 AM, there were people with children making a racket on the large lawn downstairs for at least half an hour. Since the balcony glass wasn't very soundproof, we were completely disturbed. I called the front desk to complain, but 15 minutes later, it still wasn't resolved, so we had no choice but to get up and go to breakfast. The breakfast area wasn't crowded, but three staff members were pushing a trolley full of clean plates down the main aisle, chatting and lingering, completely blocking the path of guests trying to get food! When checking out, the front desk said they immediately dealt with my complaint from the morning (they called half an hour's efficiency 'quick,' which I found speechless). Then, they gave me a bag of fruit (1 apple, 1 pear, 1 orange, 2 unripe jujubes that weren't sweet, and 6 longans, one of which was rotten) as an apology. Thank you, hotel, for being so 'generous'! I've never written such a long review about a hotel's service, but this time, I truly experienced five-star hardware with three-star service.
