"We had a great stay at The Spirited Silky Guesthouse in Dali in October and November 2025. We stayed there twice over the course of three weeks on our cycle trip to and from Shangri-la. The hotel is in a convenient place, just on the outer edge of the Old Town. It's very close to all of the action but it's in a quiet location down a side street. The inside of the hotel is in the old style. It looks superb featuring a huge fish pond in a peaceful courtyard. As soon as you arrive, the staff team is only too happy to assist with anything you need and look after you throughout your stay.. Xiao Fen and Xiao Lou were both wonderfully helpful. The breakfast is delicious with noodles, Momo and vegetables, eggs, toast, butter and a choice of jams. Little desserts. Tea, and Coffee. All beautifully served. The cleaning staff are very helpful and our room was tidied and restocked every day. We also had the opportunity to try on the traditional ethnic group costumes as well as tasting some of the local teas. We highly recommend The Spirited Silky Guesthouse!"

"I recently spent five nights (four days) at this wonderful property, and overall, it was an outstanding experience. The Hospitality The highlight of the stay was undoubtedly the host. He was incredibly hospitable and always on hand to assist us at a moment's notice. Whether we needed extra amenities or a quick replacement for something in the room, he dealt with it immediately. Furthermore, his local knowledge was invaluable; he provided excellent recommendations for sightseeing and dining, and he went above and beyond to help resolve a few personal issues we encountered during our trip. The Location The location is perfect—smack-bang in the middle of everything. Because it is so centrally located, you have attractions to both the left and the right, meaning nothing is ever too far away. It serves as a brilliant base for exploring the area. Points to Note While I would still give this stay a full 10/10, there are a few things to be aware of: Noise Levels: Due to the stunning views, the property is quite exposed to the sounds of the local traffic and passing cruises. There was also some ongoing construction noise nearby, which is understandable given the area's development, but it’s worth noting if you are a light sleeper. Facilities: The laundry facilities are a bit limited, with only one small washing machine available. A couple more machines would definitely be a welcome addition for guests . Summary Despite the minor noise issues, the place is absolutely awesome. The warmth of the host and the convenience of the location far outweigh any downsides. I thoroughly enjoyed my time here and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it!"

"We stayed here for 2 nights. We chose this place because we can see the lake view from the 3rd floor, and it's located about 25 minutes from the train station. For transportation, we mainly use taxis. The staff here are helpful, but they may not speak English, so it's recommended to download a translation app. The room is well-equipped for tourists, clean, safe, and has a beautiful view. Highly recommend if you stay in Dali ♡♡♡"

"The receptionists were very friendly, and our stay was comfortable and pleasant throughout. We arrived quite late at night, around 11.10pm, and the receptionist kindly waited for us despite the reception officially closing at 11pm. He also helped to bring our luggages from the roadside to the hotel. We were truly grateful for their patience and thoughtfulness upon our arrival. The property is also home to three very cute and friendly cats roaming around the premises. They are incredibly approachable and definitely a delightful bonus for animal lovers. You can pet them to your heart’s content! The receptionists recommended a private hire driver who brought us to popular attractions for over nine hours. The driver was very friendly and helpful, ensuring that stall owners and roadside sellers did not overcharge us, which gave us great peace of mind. We were also recommended a halal mushroom hotpot nearby and it was truly delicious and comforting. :) Overall, we had a wonderful experience and truly appreciated the attentive service and personal touches throughout our stay. Everything made us feel welcomed and well taken care of, and we would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a comfortable and memorable stay."

"The hotel is very nice, new and with a beautiful view on the mountains from the second floor terrace, and also on the lake from the 4th floor, where is located a laundry guests can use. We had a warm welcome and we were spoiled all along our stay. The host offers an evening soup and tea around a fireplace for all the guest, and we felt like a family even with a language barrier that is overcome with kindness and translator. The cinese breakfast is generous and the coffee is very good. A special thanks to our guardian angel Li Shiqin. The location of the hotel is also very good at a walking distance from the Dali Old town and close to other local attractions."

"My stayed at Yuntang Luxury Resort Hotel in Dali was fantastic. The hotel is located right in the heart of the ancient town, which makes it very convenient. The room was big, clean, and very comfortable. The bed was soft, and everything looked nice. The staff were friendly and helped me with anything I needed. "I've stayed at quite a few guesthouses in Dali, but choosing April·Return was a pleasant surprise. Located along the lakefront, the weather was perfect when I checked in, allowing me to witness an unforgettable sunset over Cangshan Mountain—no exaggeration, the view from the second-floor common area offered a breathtaking panorama of the nineteen peaks of Cangshan, every snapshot a masterpiece! As for the accommodation, as a designer guesthouse, both the common areas and guest rooms feature a lot of open space. The rooms include bathtubs with views of Cangshan and Erhai Lake, which instantly soothed my fatigue and helped me get a good night's sleep. The rooms also include local breakfast and afternoon tea, so you don't need to go out to find a trendy cafe; a good mood is guaranteed! It's a guesthouse I'd definitely stay at again. P.S.: I recommend staying two nights or more for a more complete experience!"
