Atour Hotels in Datong

My daughter booked this room for me, and I had such a comfortable stay! The room was clean and tidy, and breakfast was absolutely delightful. In the evenings, I loved sitting in the lobby, enjoying the beautiful scenery, and watching the friendly and welcoming front desk staff while sipping on a drink – it truly made me happy. Plus, getting to the high-speed train station the next day only took ten minutes, which was incredibly convenient for getting around!

The front desk staff were very helpful and promptly resolved any issues. The hotel is newly opened, and the lobby had a strong 'new renovation' smell, though the room itself was fine. It's close to the South Station, which is convenient for transport. However, the surrounding area isn't great, with a construction site downstairs where noise could be heard during the day. Cleanliness was a major issue. There were yellow stains left on the toilet, which I had to clean several times with disinfectant wipes myself. There were also hairs left on the bathroom wall that hadn't been cleaned. The toilet had a very pungent, strange odor, which I also encountered in public restrooms in the ancient city – I'm not sure what's going on in Datong. The room size was small, and the breakfast selection was limited. Honestly, for this price, you could stay in a five-star hotel in a major city. The pricing is seriously inflated, making it poor value for money.

Great soundproofing and spacious rooms. The toilet and shower are completely separate, which is a nice touch. The service is excellent and very welcoming. The air conditioning is powerful yet quiet. I'll definitely book this Atour hotel again next time I'm in Datong.
