Amazing time here. Staff was excellent and over the top. Food was amazing and different selections each day. The Day drives were incredible! Isaac and Mandla were incredible and so informative, fun and interactive!!! They were so incredible and made our trips the best. We saw almost every animal in the book except the Cheeta which was super hard. Having massive lions, rhinos, leopards, elephants and giraffes so close to the vehicle was crazy. We felt a full immersion into their natural environment and were lucky to see a pack of wild dogs vending off a hyena. Stayed for 2 nights with 4 game drives. Was not board on any drive and although we got lucky on our first drive seeing most of top animals, each drive after was special in its own way with different species and learning about how they all survive and live with out human help or interaction. I will definitely be going back and asking for Mandla

Our stay at Tinga Lodge was wonderful beyond anything we could have imagined. The friendliest, most helpful and welcoming staff, one and all. Sunrise, our Butler seemed to anticipate our every need. Chris, the manager, seamlessly handled our late arrival, ensuring we didn’t miss our first game drive. Our field guide and our tracker, Opa and Emmanuel, were incredibly knowledgeable and personable. Their ability to track the animals astonished us. We can’t believe all we saw in three days. Every game drive was thrilling. We loved the ambiance of the lodge which was luxurious but not overdone. Our stand-alone suite was off the charts for comfort and charm. We hated to leave and look forward to coming back with our family!

My family and I had the most incredible experience at Lion Sands Tinga Lodge. We stayed for 3 days and wish we would have stayed longer. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left, there were so many personal touches and thoughtful gestures to ensure the highest level of customer service (✨I’d list them out but don’t want to ruin the surprise/magic ✨). The staff knew us all by name and made us feel at home. We had the best time on our game drives with Mike as our guide and Reckson as our tracker. Both of them were incredibly personable, knowledgeable and intuitive with the animals and environment…getting us up close while still making us feel safe. It was a pleasure getting to know these guys and I still miss our days out in the bush. While there is luck involved and no guarantee of seeing any specific animals, we came across all that we wanted to see!! 🦁🐘🦒🐆🦏🦛🐒🦬 🐊 Pinky was so thoughtful as our butler, and made every effort to take care of us. At meal times she and Chef Anna were incredibly attentive to detail, as a member of our group had food allergies and the rest of us had some specific preferences. The food was delicious and high quality with a variety of options. We definitely didn’t go hungry between the meals, snacks/drinks on game drives, and tea time. I’m so glad that I took advantage of the spa services. Vutivi gave an amazing deep tissue massage- it is evident how skilled she is in her craft. The spa services are SO reasonably priced and not jacked up whatsoever (almost half the price that it would be in the USA). Chris was a fantastic manager. He regularly made the effort to connect with us while at the lodge, and made sure that we had an elevated experience from start to finish. It was great to be welcomed back to the lodge by him after many game drives. The living accommodations and housekeepers were great. Everything was clean and comfortable. It was amazing to see an elephant and several nyalas from the private plunge pool! I wouldn’t hesitate to send my friends and family here and would 100% come back should I return to South Africa. Thank you so much to the Lion Sands Tinga family- miss you already!

This was one of the most wonderful and magical experiences we had as a family (and we had just gotten back from a Disney Cruise! but this topped it!) Everything was carefully and lovingly crafted and personalized for our family, our 6 kids were always happy to go on every safari drive because of the connection they established with our guide and spotter who were absolutely amazing!! They made sure we saw every animal we dreamed of seeing (including male lions and wild dogs, But seriously, name an animal, we saw it!). We even got an astronomical tour of the stars at night during one of our night game drives (Despite his young age, Aaron, our guide, proved to be an extraordinary cyclopedia of knowledge when it comes to the natural world). It was unforgettable. The food and drinks were always more than plentiful and delicious. Our rooms impeccable, well decorated and well-suited even for a big family like ours (we were 9)! Every one of the staff members - from the general manager to our butler (yes, we had a butler) was super friendly and attentive and helpful. The views were breathtaking and at night we got cozy with blankets by the fireplace that they would put up for us. On our last night they organized a surprise buffet-snack in the bush, catering specifically for our children, with popcorn, and milkshakes and donuts... it was unbelievable. We are truly grateful to have had this amazing opportunity to stay at Tinga Lodge and experience their service. We hope to come back again soon!

I haven't left a review for a hotel/stay in a very long time but felt compelled to leave one for Tinga Lodge. Our family of 5 stayed at Tinga in July and had one of the best vacations of our lives. The staff were incredibly welcoming and hospitable from the day we arrived until the day we left. Our guide, Mandla, and tracker, Wander, were friendly, respectful and incredibly knowledgable, and what's more, fabulous with our three kids. Our butler, Pinky, surpassed our expectations and even joined us for a pick up game of soccer, as did the rest of the staff. Overall, the stay was perfect for us without a missed step. Despite an incredibly rainy safari day in the middle of our stay, we still had an excellent stay and saw an immense amount of wildlife (surprisingly, all of the Big 5 and then some). Huge thank you to all of the staff. We will be back!

From start to finish, Lion Sands Tinga Lodge was extraordinary. We have been planning this trip of a lifetime for nearly four years and our stay did not disappoint. The lodge is stunning! Beautifully decorated yet comfortable and extremely intimate. All of the staff are outstanding and incredibly friendly; going out of their way to make sure every single detail is taken care of. From the rooms to the delicious meals and natural surroundings, we felt pampered. The highlight of our trip however has to be our guide; Jabu. He and our spotter went above and beyond all three days that we were with them and made sure we had an experience that we will never forget. They were both personable, knowledgeable and were able to get us close to the Big 5 every single day. That along with the massive amount of Hyenas, zebras, giraffes, hippos, crocodiles, warthogs, impalas, springbok and most impressively the African wild (painted) dogs that we were able to see, already has us wanting to return to this very special place.

We had a wonderful stay as a family this December. Our girls just loved the Mack & Madi adventure experience and they loved spending time with patience too. Kruger our tracker was also excellent with them taking them our to take spoor castings. Very classic in style the suites are lovely and private from each other and we loved using both the private plunge pools and the main lodge pool. Meals under the towering jackalberry tree were magical too. This is a fantastic luxury safari experience and whether you are travelling as a family or as a couple the lodge will make it a truly special experience. Thank you to Patience, Amos, Kruger and Murray for taking such good care of us during our stay. Kind regards, Jonty, Lauren, Maya & Sienna.

Can't say enough about the Lodge, the safari experience and the personnel. We were greeted by friendly professional people from the get go. The rooms are about the largest I have ever seen with a living room, enormous bed, huge bathroom and shower. Extremely private as you are in you own hut. The safari driver and tracker were tremendous going out of their way to provide professional service and being so friendly and personable you felt like you were totally safe even when a lion or leopard is laying next to your vehicle which really did happen. The first night we saw a leopard with a kill in a tree. And hyenas waiting below. How can you beat that And they do carry guns!
