Cleatham Hall

What a wonderful first visit! We booked lunch to celebrate a birthday. When we arrived, it was like being welcomed into a family home. We were shown to a lovely sitting room where we enjoyed drinks, with the kind offer of nibbles. The inside of the hall is traditional and tastefully decorated. We were shown to our table, which had a personal birthday card, which we thought was very thoughtful. The orders were taken by a very attentive and smiley young lady, who was pleased to chat and make us feel welcome. The food was delicious, perfectly cooked and well presented. We had enjoyed a lovely meal, however, I had a problem on returning to my car. When the owners of the hall became aware, they offered me a coffee and used their car to jump start mine. I could really not fault their care and kindness. What a lovely venue and wonderful people. Thank you so very much for everything.

I've visited CH twice now, the first time with a small group for an afternoon tea, the second time for a pre Christmas meal On both occasions I've left feeling shirt changed. Reference the first visit for afternoon tea, the orangery (which is quite nice) was completely void of other dinners, thus had no atmosphere at all. I'd recommend that afternoon tea is done in set days in order to fill the space & build atmosphere The second visit, for a pre Christmas meal, again other diners in the room were few. The most disappointing part was that the beef was as tough as old boots. We were not checked back on during the meal & as such I raised this issue once we'd finished, with meat left on our plates. The owners are incapable of receiving criticism & this shows in other review responses. When stating that the meat was overcooked, this was net with "well it's the same piece of meat we've served from all day & there haven't been other complaints " having worked in hospitality for many years, this response does nothing to rectify the situation. I should add that the open fire was not correctly being tended and as such kept in going out. The verdict.- it is local to where I live, it is a nice old building which has greater potential than is currently being met. The entrance feels like you're walking into an old family members house. Having been there twice, I will not return for a third. I'm accepting that mistakes can happen, but it's how you deal with them that counts & both the chap & chappette (whom I believe are the owners) were poor in rectifying the issue.

We got a married here on the 10/06/2023 and it was amazing!!!! We couldn’t have asked for more of a perfect day. Kayla and Jim was a big part in our wedding and we couldn’t have done it without them both. We’ve had so many compliments about our day and how it all ran so smoothly and how the food was excellent and delicious. Kayla went through everything with me the night before to make sure it was as perfect as it could be. Loved that our closest family and friends could come the night before and have a sit down meal and was able to stay. Kayla went out of her way to ask staff to see if they could take pictures and videos of us so I could look at them while I waited for the photographers to come through It’s a home from home and that’s the reason we choose it as our wedding venue and we definitely made the right choice Can’t wait to come back on our first anniversary❤️x

Wonderful service in a beautiful hotel! Food outstanding from the chef also fabulous breakfast by Jim who gave that personal touch remembering my cushion for my back an sweetners for my tea! I even had a usual drink of rhubarb gin and sparkling water (low sugar) so refreshing before and often after dinner. Enjoyed by the company of Kate too who made our stay so comfortable. Many thanks for your kindness oh we love your own organic jams and chutneys gGrought several home, Highly recommended.

Stayed here with my partner for her birthday and a surprise proposal. We could not have been made to feel any more welcome. Nothing was too much trouble and Jim and Kate were so hospitable. Enjoyed a great evening in the bar with champagne and good company. The building itself is lovely, as at the surrounding gardens. The room was clean and beautifully furnished. The bed was huge and comfortable and the bathroom was incredible. Breakfast was also delicious. We will definitely be visiting again.

Where do I start!!! We booked Cleatham Hall for our mothers 70th birthday. From start to finish Jim, Rio and the team went above and beyond to help create the most beautiful day for our family. The food and service was exceptional and the staff couldn't do enough for our guests. All our party commented on how wonderful Cleatham Hall is and how they would return in the future. If you are looking for something a bit special then I would definitely recommend. Thanks a million Jim and the team 🥰

We had stayed a few times and loved the place. Breakfast is fantastic. So we booked our Wedding here. 25 people, plus some extras in the evening. The food was outstanding. Literally everone rated it 100%. Their Wedding coordinator is brilliant and took care of everything without any stress for us, coping perfectly with inevitable last minute guest changes. We cannot say enough nice things about the owners; Jim and Kate, and all of the staff are brilliant! Well done Cleatham Hall. Honestly - if you are thinking of booking a Wedding - go and see Kat. You will find it a high end Weddding without a high end cost.

We attended our friends wedding here, kat the wedding planner was Amazing and she really is a gem ! From tending to bride and groom to getting a plaster for my friends toe she was on it. The owners were super friendly and it felt like they had welcomed us into their home. The waitresses were really lovely and very smart.

My wife and I had Sunday lunch with 12 family members to celebrate my Wife's birthday. Jim and his staff were fantastic .Allergies were not a problem, Food and service was excellent, all in lovely surroundings. This was or fourth visit , we will certainly be going back again .
