The hotel is exactly what we expected, small, intimate and in a quiet location. The room was spacious, with two bedrooms, two ensuites and a bed sofa. The level of food choice is not that of a large all inclusive resort hotel but we didn't expect it to be. There is however a fish dish, a meat dish, pasta, veggies, salads, breads, desserts every lunch/dinner. We travelled as a family of 6, 2 adults, 4 children (age range 9-12) , 2 of which are in the fussy eater category and they were happy enough. Unlimited drinks and ice cream were available all day. We did eat out once a day but had planned for this. The local restaurants were all lovely (Mambos/Nostos our faves) , very reasonable in price and far more modern than I expected. Lots are situated on the seafront which is about a 15 minute walk (just beware some of this is on the main road and the quieter roads are not light up if walking when dark). There are a number of beaches near by, inflatable assault course, watersports, all with sunbeds and beach service. We travelled to both Rethymos and Heraklion using the local bus, again about a 15 minute walk to the bus stop - although the timetable is somewhat questionable and you tend to need cash. Star of the show is definitely Stellios, nothing is too much trouble and he makes a cracking Bloody Mary!!! Thank you for a lovely family holiday.
