The staff were very helpful and friendly. We had a few questions and they answered them very graciously. The breakfast was just fair. Oatmeal cups that can be heated individually would be much better than the big pot of lumpy oatmeal that was served, especially during this season of concern over spreading germs. I have stayed at this hotel many times over the years and have never really had any issues before this stay. The hotel needs some SERIOUS updating and a good deep-cleaning though! Our room was pretty nice... we had an issue with a plugged bathroom sink but they resolved that while we were out. They were also very accommodating with us traveling with our cat, which is a big plus. But the single most striking concern I witnessed is how badly the management and/or owners have allowed thy pool to degrade! I distinctly remember the last time I was here the pool was operational and clean, but this time it was a major disaster and a real health concern! I brought this to the attention of the front desk clerk and her response was ”well, the oil man was here yesterday and he didn't find any problems with it”. The Ph levels in the water may be within parameters, but there's NO WAY IN HELL this pool is being cleaned properly, let-alone REGULARLY! I have attached an up-close photo, as well as a short video of my walk-around of the pool to show hot bad it had gotten! My! fiance, who LOVES to swim, got out of the pool after only a few minutes because she was so concerned with the condition it was in. Parents, If I had children I WOULD NOT allow them in this pool!

This motel is without a doubt one of the best hotels/motels in Lansing. People always have negative views about motels and the overall view of Red Roof Inn is not what it may have once been. I promise you though this location will surpass all of your expectations and kicking yourself for wasting money at any other hotel/motel in the area. The prices are always super reasonable even on the weekends when like every other hotel/motel there is a price increase. What is really amazing is that the staff here is so dedicated and outstanding they somehow manage to remember guest faces and will apply discounts to your stay if they know you've stayed here before, or at least that has been my experience. Which brings me to the staff. I can not say enough about how outstanding my experience has been with every single staff member I have encountered. They all have a very positive upbeat attitude and it truly does seem to be a pleasure to provide the highest quality hospitality. You never feel just like some faceless customer because you are always acknowledged with at least a smile and offer to provide any help if needed. The rooms are wonderful! The housekeeping staff here is top notch and their attention to detail is evident as soon as you step into your room. There are no short cuts or neglected areas within the rooms. The linen is crisp, fresh and smells wonderful. Outside of the rooms the grounds are just as clean. You will see staff emptying main trash bins located at various spots around the property on a regular basis throughout the day. The fact that they take the time to check the trash and don't just wait for it to be overflowing or a new day means there is no lingering smell of someone else's trash or insects. The landscaping is also very nice and neatly kept. It is quite and the rooms are super sound proof which is also nice esp. if you are trying to sleep in. I promise you will not be disappointed at this location!!
