"Excellent hotel with springs, excellent service and food.
Dinner with a large selection of dishes, I would like to separately note the plum liqueur, as cold as I am to alcohol, I really liked this one.
The only thing you can find fault with is the location, it's a long way to go, but otherwise 10/10
The public bath, like the one that was booked separately, is excellent"
"The location is not difficult to find, ten minutes walk south from Yumoto Station. The room is also very good. In fact, seven or eight people can live.
The downside is that there is no Chinese service. And there are two rooms, but the booking does not tell you which one is.
And the unlock password given by the SMS after booking and the in-site message are wrong. But I can't get through the customer service phone of the hotel.
Fortunately, Trip customer service dug out the correct password in the middle of the night, otherwise it would be sleeping on the street.
The house is fine, the service is completely absent."
"Superb, the most satisfying hot spring hotel in this trip to Japan. The water quality of the hot spring is excellent. You can see a lot of sulfur floating on the surface. My skin feels better after soaking. The service of the hotel is also great. It has a long history and many collections of its own. You can shower with your eyes closed."

"We loved our experience is this hotel! We had such a lovely evening with our friends an and enjoyed the sunset over the lake- what a perfect ending to the day. We booked the best rooms (kind of by accident but so happy we did that). They’re the top floor rooms with the balconies. Worth it! The breakfast was also truly fantastic- lots of variety and excellent quality choices, including fresh delicious fruit. The onsen was also a delight."
"Nice service!
English level of the staff is good.
The western meal is good, especially the soup.
The hot spring is good and I felt good with the skin.
I left on the Valentine’s Day, I received a gift of a chocolate biscuit from the front reception of the hotel.
I hope I will visit the hotel again."
"The hotel is just around the corner from the mountain train station. The environment is very good and the facilities are complete. Toiletries and lotions are provided. You can check in directly with just a change of clothes. I left my luggage at the Tokyo Hotel. The Kaiseki dinner was of good quality. If you are not used to Kaiseki, you can get off at the previous stop, Mori no Bijutsu. There is Lawson opposite. Buy some snacks, instant noodles and cook in the microwave!"
"It has wonderful location, next to the port and ropeway. The view is stunning. And onsen is so beautiful, clean and nice. Amenities are good.
The dinner and breakfast are buffet style. It was tasty but I would say it is more european than japanese if it is important for you."
"The hotel is located halfway up the mountain, very close to the Glass Museum. As soon as the car arrived, there was a hotel reception. The overall style of the lobby is American. The facilities and bedding are very new. There are only ten rooms. There are private baths and reservation-based hot springs, and the public baths are empty. Dinner is Sukiyaki, the beef is very fatty, and breakfast is divided into Japanese and Western styles."
"Amazing hotel in an amazing location. The Japanese style room was very comfortable and the use of the private onsen a bonus when booking a stay there. Since we were driving we also appreciated the free parking on property. We had an amazing stay!"

GGuest UserVery good hot spring experience. Although the hotel is a bit remote, the bus goes directly from Gora Station. If you go early, you can book a shuttle bus to pick you up at Gora Station. There are two buses at 2:45 pm and 3:45 pm. You can also be sent directly to Gora Station on the return trip the next day. The service staff is very good and introduced the facilities in the house very considerately. There are hot springs both indoors and outdoors. There are several hot spring pools outdoors. There are not many people, so basically one person can have one pool, which also avoids embarrassment. Breakfast and dinner are quite rich, and the experience of one night and two meals is very good😆

Xxy.fftThe service was really good, we had to drive from Tokyo so it took a while and we were kinda delayed by traffic for a bit due to it being one lane. Our hosts are really kind and help with parking our cars and bringing us our luggages. Although we thought it was advertised as a hotel, it's actually a ryokan. Really apologetic for the inconvenience from us during our stay there, we checked in late and even came back late during one of the night - resulting in us missing dinner service (they even set up and left some food for us). We also wanted to leave for the convenience store close to midnight, only to find out that the doors are all shut, we didn't want to make them do extra work so we went back to our rooms.
The rooms are great and the views are so beautiful, it's amazing to wake up to such greenery / mountain view. Breakfast and dinner service will be in the rooms and the staff will help us lay and keep our futons as well. I had the chance to soak in one of the private baths, it was really relaxing and nice, warms me right up since it was around 10 degrees in the autumn. Amenities provided are very adequate as well, even in the baths (public/private). Besides all that, there's a lounge area with massage chairs, it was the best thing ever, highly recommend to try it during your stay.
It's more convenient if you drive, there are convenience stores are few mins drive away. The entrance from the road is a really sharp bend so you need to take note in case you missed it. Plenty of parking space as well, wouldn't be a concern during your stay. Shoes are removed right at the lobby and kept by the staffs, very homely vibes.
Overall a pleasant stay with them and would love for more people to experience what I've experienced. Thank you to all staff and hosts who made it possible. If there's a chance, I'd love to visit again.

TTimothyIf you have extra money, this could be a nice way to indulge. However, a word of warning. If you're arriving at Odawara train station, there's no way to get to the hotel except by the hotel shuttle. Taxis won't take you. And the hotel shuttle won't take you unless you've placed your name on the reservation list ahead of time. Nobody warned me about this. I'd read online that a connecting train takes you near the hotel, but this isn't true either. I arrived during a snow/ice storm and waited over 3 hours before I could get a ride to the hotel. The shuttle driver wouldn't let me on. I called the hotel front desk 3 or 4 times, but they weren't very helpful. I suppose this is the language barrier. They meant well. But regardless, if a shuttle reservation is the only way to access a remote mountain top hotel, it's pretty important to make sure your guests understand this. Once I did arrive, I have to admit the room was beautiful. The buffet dinner was fantastic but not included in the price of the room - a little disappointing, since the room is already so expensive. Lots of extra costs, so be careful. I received a really great massage in my room. The onsen hot spring was very nice, and free (included in room charge). Breakfast the next morning was also included in room charge. The hotel bar was closed, though. There wasn't much opportunity to socialize or meet people. I did check out the lake the next morning, which was beautiful in the snowfall. I'm sharing photos of that. There wasn't time to check out much else because I had to get back on the shuttle bus at 10:30 to catch my next train. I suppose if there hadn't been an ice storm, I would have checked out more of the surrounding area and appreciated it.

FFionaIt was snowing when we were there. The condominium block was not as ideal as we had to head over to the main building for the restaurant, onsen, snack bars. The snow made the walk slippery and it was very cold. Other than that little inconvenience, everything else was delightful. Parking is sheltered, room was big and comfortable, free drinks and snacks, good dinner and breakfast, kid-friendly, relaxing onsen.

AAlfredHotel was literally 2 mins walk from Hakone Yumoto station. Check in was easy. Room was clean. Public bathe was nice. Some parts of the hotel was under maintenance while we were there.
The breakfast was pretty good as well. They've got western food items, eastern items and japanese items.

GGuest UserI love this hotel! From the moment we were ushered in from the shuttle coming via Odawara stn, the hotel felt very welcoming. Reception was a large open table that is not your typical hotel reception that feel too formal. we were first brought to the lower bar seating area where it’s comfy sofa seating. Check in took awhile as many guests were received from the hotel shuttle bus (25-30 seater). Staff always check in with us on the progress while we waited. Room came with private onsen though I hope it could have been the natural spring water instead of tap. Love the huge room size thats great for little kids to run around, met my standard of cleanliness as well. Breakfast adequate but not a huge spread which I find pricey at 3900 yen. Some bread, fried jap style fish, somen, cold appetisers, veg dips, fruits, around 6-8 hot dishes including omelette and poached eggs. Yet a lot of drink choices fr milk, soy, juices, teas, etc. we had the set dinner 18000 yen and 15000 yen as both of us had diff menus. Was a 3-4 course dinner, nothing out of this world and we didnt want the hassle of walking out to find food. This was one hotel we found many singaporeans (we are one too) as breakfast and dinnertime in resto is when we
started noticing the accents. Nearby is a 7-11 nearby around 300m by foot if you feel peckish in middle of the night. Very pleasant stay, like that they provide mpv service to and fro gora station that would be most main boarding point to other attractions, mind that it runs till 6pm so any later you can take the Hakone Tozan bus which brings you to the pizza resto just a short 50m walk from hotel main road.

Great
GGuest UserI recently stayed at Hotel Odakyu in Hakone and had a mixed experience. On the map, the location seems convenient, but in reality, it's a bit tricky—especially for solo travelers. There are no buses that go directly to the hotel, so you end up walking along the main road in the dark if you're coming back in the evening. There’s no sidewalk, which made it feel unsafe and uncomfortable for me as a single female traveler.
That said, the hotel itself is clean and the rooms, while a little outdated, are well-maintained and comfortable. The onsen is a lovely feature with both indoor and outdoor options—definitely a highlight of the stay. Amenities are great and well-stocked, and the traditional Japanese breakfast is beautifully prepared. Just note that it's the same meal every morning, so if you're staying for more than a night or two, it might feel repetitive.
One key tip: buses in Hakone don’t run late, so make sure to be back in the area by 6 or 7 PM to avoid the long, dark walk. Personally, I would recommend staying in a more central or populated area of Hakone for better access to restaurants and transit—especially if you're relying on public transportation.

GGuest UserPerfect, perfect, perfect! The view is perfect, the facilities are perfect, and the hygiene is perfect. What better time to relax than soaking in the hot spring while watching Mount Fuji? I hope I can come again in the future! It is impossible to live in this room type for 5 months, and it is just right for a family of 3 or 4. There are 3 improvements in hygiene: 1) The lamps in the restaurant are very dusty 2) There is dust in the microwave 3) The fabric sofa has stains and the frequency of deep cleaning should be increased after washing. In addition, it would be more perfect if a Bluetooth speaker could be provided.

OOhbrainsNot the easiest place to find, nestle between the river and the mountain we had the most amazing experience. Friendly staff that speaks English with the most amazing breakfast and dinner. Not the cheapest hotel but you are paying for the experience and I would definitely recommend you try this hotel out. Our room had its own private hot spring and we were more then impressed with the level of detail and service that the owner(s) put into running of this inn / hotel.

KkitekidThe exterior is in the style of a simple European manor, and the interior should have been renovated in recent years. The key is a traditional key with a long plexiglass room card, which is very impressive.
There is a natural hot spring private bath, where you can enjoy the view on the hillside. There are massage chairs, TVs, etc. in the bathing and changing lounge area for you to rest and cool down before returning to the room. The service is very considerate.
The breakfast is a Western set meal, which is exquisite and can be eaten as a breakfast. The restaurant faces the hillside and the scenery is invincible.
We arrived very late, and the front desk was also very friendly.
The front desk was also very friendly during the day, and they responded to every request. Luggage can be stored.
The bed and tatami are very good, and the quilt is a duck down quilt, which makes you sleep very comfortably at night.
The disadvantage is that you have to climb a slope to leave ”Gora”. There is a car to pick you up at 18:00 in the evening, so you can only climb if it's late. It's closer to ”Park Shang” and there is not such a big slope, but there is still a car at 22:00 on the mountain climbing line to ”Gora”, and there seems to be no car at 18:00 on the traction railway to ”Park Shang”. If you go late, you can only climb or take a taxi. We checked in late, so we only enjoyed the service of being sent to Gora after checking out.
