Mitos Village

What can I say about this lovely family run hotel! It is amazing. Thanos who owns the hotel is a super business man who is able to make you feel like you are one of the family from the minute you get there. His mother and wife also work in the hotel behind the bar and sorting out breakfasts etc and nothing is ever a problem. I got extremely bitten and they became hugely infected, every morning they checked in with me to make sure how it was getting on and even got me antibiotic cream to help with it. This is not a big chain hotel and for me this was perfect, its a relatively small personal hotel with a stunning pool area. The rooms are big and the only reason I gave them a 4 star was i feel the air-conditioning could be a little better. The hotel is kept spotless by Maria and Alex, I've never seen an ounce of dirt anywhere. Public areas immaculate! Pool towels given when you arrive which is a great help. The breakfast is beautiful in the mornings, everything is cooked fresh onsite. It's nicely positioned too as it is just outside old hersonnasis where there is a lovely little square to have lunch or dinner, a few shops and a chemist. Hersonnasis is about 10 minutes in a taxi and you are on the ***** or a 30 min walk if you are adventurous. Overall I would hugely recommend this hotel and Thanos & his team. You won't be disappointed if you are looking for a personal holiday with a family feel hotel. We will def be back!

We thoroughly enjoyed our first visit to Mitos Village and definitely intend to return. Our whole 11 night experience was relaxed and most enjoyable. We were welcomed by the owner, Thanos, who was attentive throughout our stay to ensure that we were always looked after and was happy to provide any information we needed to make our holiday more enjoyable. All facilities are good, clean and well-maintained. Special mention must go to Alex, who provided great service across all areas - breakfast, lunch and at the bar with a bit of pool cleaning and garden maintenance thrown in. All-in-all a "star man". If you're looking for somewhere peaceful/enjoyable to stay, only a stone's throw from a great selection of tavernas, you won't find better than Mitos Village.

This was a great place. We were travelling about and only spent one night, but we enjoyed our stay and wished we could have stayed longer. If we came back to Crete and wanted to base ourselves somewhere, this would be a really good place for that. There was lots of room, it was clean, the beds were comfortable. Staff was very helpful and friendly. We didn’t use the pool, but it was large and clean. Breakfast was tasty. Several good restaurants close by for lunch or dinner.

We checked in at around midnight on 7th October and Thanos was waiting for us with such a warm welcome. We stayed in a classic double room which was HUGE and had a lovely view over the pool and the local surroundings. The hotel is spotless and Thanos and his team are really attentive without being too 'in your face'. It's about a five minute walk to the centre of Old Hersonissos and what a treat that was! Small local shops and buzzing tavernas offering traditional food and hospitality - you can just sit and watch the world go by quite happily! A bit further down the hill is the port of Hersonissos (about a 35 minute walk) and this is very different to the Old town - bustling bars and nightlife and plenty to see and do if that's your thing. We walked down about three times but ALWAYS caught a cab back (at 9€ it was well worth it). Overall we had a wonderful time at the Mitos Village and would thoroughly recommend Thanos' lovely hotel to anyone wanting to stay there.

My stay at Mitos was very nice! I was looking for a relaxing holiday in a quiet area where you could still get a bite to eat in a a nice and cozy environment within minutes. That's how I ended up at Mitos Village and read the rave reviews. Nothing lied; you will totally unwind here. The service is very good, the staff is very helpful and friendly, the appartement is neat and clean. It has a nice swimming pool with plenty of lounge beds where you can hang out if you don't want to go out. On arrival there was a bottle of house wine waiting for you and some fresh fruit. A 4-minute walk away you find yourself at a cosy tavern where you can eat very nicely and where fun traditional evenings are organised. A holiday at Mitos Village is therefore definitely recommended!

5 out 5 - beautiful property and excellent service. Lots of cafes and restaurants about a 10 minute walk away. The breakfast at mitos village is lovely with a wide range of selection. Beach is about 30 mins walk Thank you to the staff for such a welcoming stay!!

An excellent family friendly hotel in a wonderful part of Old Heronissos. We had a relaxing and fun 7-night holiday, with fantastic hospitality and great customer service by Thanos and his brilliant team. The hotel had a great atmosphere with other like minded guests from across Europe. My children especially enjoyed the swimming pool as well as the fruit punch! We will most definitely be back again.

We stayed at Mithos village as a stop over to another resort, and wish now we had stayed longer! Thanos (the owner) was very welcoming and hospitable throughout and couldnt do enough for us. A very low key hotel with not many rooms which i liked. It felt like we had the place to ourselves, and in the peak of summer. We had an amazing family room overlooking the pool on the top floor which was perfect, clean and had everything we needed. The breakfast was amazing also. We thouroughly enjoyed our stay here and will defintely go back.

Just returned from an amazing 10 day break at this fantastic hotel. From the moment we walked through the gates, we got a very warm welcome and started to relax. The hotel is very clean, staff go above and beyond for you and the facilities are excellent. All the staff helped us to booked trips, taxis, recommended places to eat and see as a family. This hotel reflects the friendly and welcoming nature of Greece.
