Hotels Near The Guest-Greeting Pine in Huangshan

Located at a very convenient location for our climb to 天都山. The coordinator Xu was really nice, helpful and informative. Introduced us to a good sunrise spot and even offered to help us move our luggage if we were checking out late(though we didn't need it in the end)! Service staff is professional and friendly but with limitations as compared to the other hotel we stayed up in the mountains. Just a little hopeful for more food options in the area so that we are not forced to eat buffet with our small stomach.

This is the best, reasonably priced hotel on the mountain. The service was excellent especially when we arrived and asked for double bed not two singles, they provided water while we waited 15mins. The dinner and breakfast had a lot of choices, it was tasty and so we would recommend booking with both dinner and breakfast included. Building A is the one to book if you can, building B is a 5 minute walk downhill. The rooms are tired but comfortable and they provide a foot bath to soak your tired legs and down jackets to wear to view sunrise and sunset. It is close to the highest point on the mountain so there is a lot of walking uphill to get there, but the position is the good for the other walks. Hotel is at a convenient location where you can end your hike at for the day. Value for money as you get to view the sunset, star-gaze and see the sunrise all in one location! Receptionist Hu Shan was extremely helpful and even sent us messages on Weibo to alert us of the sunset/sunrise timings. 酒店的地点非常方便。上了山就能立刻休息。也能在酒店的台阶看日出日落，还能看银河!! 前台小姐胡珊也帮了我们不少- 在微博上给我们发消息让我们知道日出日落的时间。非常感谢！

First off, our fault, we didn't take note of the negative reviews of the service rendered in this hotel. It is a beautiful hotel, with amazing details and decorative accents. It is such a waste that the service standard is dismal. The lady at the reception was very dismissive when we checked in, after our long day of hiking. We managed to descend huangshan and reach the hotel about 6pm. She coldly informed us we have to have our dinner (before 8pm) and hotspring (before 9pm). We really scrambled and otherwise, you won't have food, and they would not allow us to use the hotspring voucher for the next day. Next, it might be a ”hotspring” hotel (throw away all preconceived thoughts of onsens), but u are only allowed one use a day, and it is only available from 3pm to 9pm. Next, apparently there is some transport restrictions for this hotel. So you can't just go out of the hotel to the town to eat and come back as there are specific timings u can go out or come into the hotel, via their transport team. You are basically holed in the hotel, which is fine for just one day, but not for longer stays. The food is acceptable, but they really meant it when they say it is a self-service buffet. The lady manager is especially surly. I don't think she was targeting us, she was equally dismissive to all (I guess that is some consolation) The staff delivered us 4 bottles of water while looking at his phone, no eye contact in any way (but this might just us being boomers by expecting some form of hospitality) The lady at the noodle station asked us to get our own soup bowl, while she continued with her douyin surfing.

This hotel is insane! Really loved the place and the total look of the all. My room had lots of space, was really clean, bed super comfortable. We had also a balcony that you can sit outside and watch the stars at night- was amazing! The stuff was super nice, helped us with alot of questions and recommended us for places to go and see. We asked for extra water and they didn’t charged us. Also we asked for yoga mat and they immediately brought us to the room. The service was super quick and efficient. Breakfast was poor, but for us it was enough. In total we relaly liked the place, was super chill and relax. I really recommend on staying in this place!

Check in service was great upon arriving. They will give a large printed map and advise the route to take according to your preference. They added us on WeChat to update on all services available and sunrise info. Room was clean and signage saying tap water is portable from Huangshan spring. Boba tea's tapioca balls were powdery. Resources are difficult to carry up so maybe they served us overnight pearls. Food was not cheap but understandable. Breakfast was good with the traditional buns and soy bean drink etc. There is a walkway connected to the main building from the 2nd floor of blk B. Sunrise location changed to about 40min walk (one way) in Dec so it was steps and steps again on the second day morning but it's all worth it. Best communication from the helpful staff (in Chinese)

Our stay at the J. Mountain hotel was beyond our wildest dreams. I rarely leave reviews but our 3 nights here were so stunningly exceptional that we felt driven to express our gratitude and appreciation for the stellar staff, service, and beautiful setting of this hidden gem of a hotel. The service was without exception some of the best if not the best I have ever experienced at a hotel, and I travel often, having visited over 20 countries in the last few years alone and stayed at many beautiful and well-known five-star hotels and brands. Despite being a very young hotel (having just opened in September) J. Mountain Hotel holds its own and then some. It began months before our stay when we reached out to the hotel on WeChat to ask for guidance on equipment, tickets, and transportation. As we are visiting from America the area isn’t necessarily the easiest to access or plan for. Responses were almost immediate no matter when we reached out and always went above and beyond. For instance, my mother is nearly 70 and although very active was worried about slipping and falling while hiking in icier conditions; they offered to even purchase crampons for us should we wish although they advised us we would not need them for the time of year we were here (they were right). While here their thoughtfulness included texting us updates on and warning us about inclement weather while we were hiking around Huang Shan (there is cell service), drying and fluffing our wet gear when we returned from a particularly wet hike, and most astounding of all resolving an incredibly stressful issue we had with an upcoming flight that had been canceled (they suggested and secured alternative means of transport to a second city and then arranged for a different flight with the airline directly). We must specifically give our thanks to Hotel Manager Ryan, who is young but clearly extremely talented and excels in his role. He not only oversaw and proactively sought to help us on every front but was responsible for resolving our flight emergency. He also clearly had directed staff to help us to their utmost ability at all times, including having breakfast and dinner ready for and served to us at the times we requested. Ryan also personally met us and gave us a tour of the hotel and its history and design, as well as accompanied us to the art gallery and an evening tea tasting held in the gorgeous tea house on the grounds. He checked in with us every day and night and made sure everything was to our liking. Driver Wang Kai was our personal chauffer throughout the stay and was extremely courteous, professional, and attentive; he was always there to pick us up and see us off at multiple locations throughout our trip and not once were we ever allowed to wait. He even brought us hotel slippers and large down jackets to change into out of our soaking wet gear when picking us up at the end of a hike. When we said we did not think we would need some of the gear they offer their guests, we noticed he packed it in the car just in case we changed our minds and needed them later. I could literally go on and on but wanted to make sure I left room to appreciate how beautiful the hotel itself is and how much attention to detail has gone into its design and planning; at almost every turn we discovered something that added to the ease, enjoyment, and comfort of our stay. J. Mountain Hotel, thank you for one of the best experiences we have had in many, many years.

Hotel was great - particularly as it's on top of a mountain - and that in itself is special! Costs for everything are expensive but fair considering the location. The room is fairly small (but very functional), you won't need space as you won't have luggage. Room comes with warm jackets and a torch so you don't need to bring those things for a sunset/sunrise. We were in what seemed like a newer block so the interior was modern. Shower was hot and decent. Breakfast and dinner (180 yuan per person) had impressive variety considering everything gets up the mountain on a cable car and then manually carried to the hotel. Location is good as it's next to the Taiping cableway but we walked from the popular Yuping cableway carrying small overnight packs. It is very possible in one day! We descended the next day via the Yungu cableway which was a much easier walk. Note the closest lookout for both is a 20min uphill walk with the path starting from the hotel (and another path for those who aren't staying there.) We saw a spectacular sunset and not much of a sunrise. Both were well worth it but of course you're at the mercy of the weather. Receptionists could speak basic English and will also give you bottles of water and communicate weather and sunset conditions to you via WeChat. If you can't understand Mandarin you can use the translate function in WeChat. Free laundry service too but we didn't use it.

Great experience. Friendly, prepared for the snow/cold by lending me a warm jacket, great location to wake up early and see sunrise. I booked for 2 nights but the weather caused many activities to be closed so I checked out 1 day early and requested a refund for the day I didn’t stay (by messaging with a representative on Trip.com, they initiated the request and I made sure the hotel was aware so they could approve). The only thing I would ask to change is that the smoking smell from the hallway creeped into the room (I requested a none smoking room). Maybe have 1 floor or a section of the floor non-smoking but I understand it is culture to smoke. Even though the weather prevented me from seeing a clear sky sunrise, it was worth staying at the top for 1 night so I didn’t have to carry much as I explored, being able to borrow a jacket to stay warm and rest between walks at the hotel.

The must hotel to stay as their quality of service is the most sincere and warm. From pre-stay arrangement, meeting at enroute to the hotel, we are taken care of very well. The breakfast and dinner (recommeded by young dinning butler) is excellent and exquisite. The receptionists are really friendly and suggested a lot of great hiking routes. I will not disclose too much on the room but every details in HuaYing provided the guest plenty of surprises with blend of nature and mordern design. Amenities are complete. Lastly, the heart and soul in this hotel is the wonderful people running the hotel.
