AAnonymous UserDon't trust Google Maps too much; when we first arrived, it led us on a detour. Actually, it's a straight shot from the train station down one main road until you reach a river, and the hotel is on your left (behind another hotel). That's the quickest way to get there. I highly, highly advise against booking the 'Pei' room type. It's truly tiny and features a tatami mat. Perhaps they sacrificed indoor space to make the public bathing area larger. Even with one adult and one child, we felt incredibly cramped, let alone two adults! So, I promptly went downstairs and paid extra to switch rooms. Luckily, there were available rooms, and the additional charge wasn't exorbitant; it was still very reasonable! After the switch, we got a quad room.
I must commend the front desk staff! Throughout my two-night stay, every front desk agent I encountered was excellent, professional, and friendly! The restaurant staff was fantastic too! One day, I casually mentioned that some of the grapes at breakfast seemed a bit spoiled. The staff insisted on compensating me, and even after I refused several times, another staff member gave me two packs of face masks at checkout as an apology. They were so incredibly kind! Your front desk service was the best I experienced during my 13 days in Taiwan!
Also, the breakfast was delicious!!! We ate there for two days, and the hot dishes were completely different each day! The chicken wings on the first day and the fried fish head on the second are still on my mind! There are complimentary refreshments in the lobby, especially the herbal tea, which was perfectly to my taste!
My only minor complaint is that the bathroom had a slight odor. Every time I opened the bathroom door, I'd smell it, but thankfully, it wasn't noticeable once the door was closed. Also, it would be more convenient if there were more washing machines and dryers (currently there's only one).
Ps. There's a newly opened bubble tea shop nearby with great flavors! And close to that bubble tea shop, there's also a new seafood restaurant with amazing food!!! The stir-fried water lily with pork was out of this world!
A bit further away, there's also a fantastic place where kids can make their own pizza!
If you're visiting Jiaoxi, I recommend staying here!
