"The Palace Hotel is an older establishment that is getting a little tired and in need of some TLC.
The room offered to us (#20) is very small, had a double bed (not queen size) and had the TV mounted very high up on the very high wall. The only way to watch it is to actually lie on the bed!
Issues encountered during both nights we stayed included doors banging, next doors TV and people talking loudly in the corridor even as late/early as 4am! Very poor standard of accommodation for $180 per night!
Would we do it again? No thank you."
"It's a no frills hotel with no reception desk. You have to walk to the end of the hotel till you see a hollow entry and you will see the key cases with room numbers on the wall. No slippers provided, no shower gel only shampoo and conditioner provided. It's shared bathroom and there's a common kitchen with toaster and microwave. There's a mini fridge in the room. Overall ok for 1 or 2 nights stay."
"We had a lovely big airy room with nice decor and a comfy king size bed. Everything was nice and clean although I think the toiletries should be brand new, not leftovers with barely anything in them from the previous guests. The massive spa bath was a highlight as it was the perfect size for 2 tall people! Our check in was delayed and because the receptionist was unable to get in contact with housekeeping to ensure our room was clean, he had to walk there himself to check. Obviously it wasn’t ready as we then had to wait another 10 minutes before we were finally able to check in. This wasn’t the receptionists fault, I think the hotel was short staffed."
"The staff was great, and the room was clean. The rooms need a long overdue refurbish, painting and decorating. Where the air-conditioner is there is bubbling, and it looks like it leaks when used. The shower and the whole bathroom flooded after my shower, and the condensation was pretty bad. The mattress was too hard. There was only one biscuit for 2 people, where the coffee, etc, lucky I shared 😀. The breakfast was great, and there was a variety of choices. The dining room was clean. Overall, it was a great stay, but your rooms need to be upgraded."
