Best Hotels in Koh Phangan, Thailand

It was very beautiful and I was satisfied. I would like to come back and stay again when I can relax. We especially recommend relaxing by the pool. It's also connected to the ocean, so I think it's a good idea to play on the beach during the season.

Stayed here for 3 days, think it's family run lodge. The hotel room key was really a key, a big one. The door creaked when opening but overall the room was nice, amenities was good. When requested for a kettle, the kind old lady provided me very fast....very nice. Pity did not make use of the swimming pool as it was hot for 2 of the days there. A short walk to a food court nearby, Thongsala Square (where the race start)...and the Walking Street where they had a nice night bazaar on Saturday, pity it rained halfway. Also a short walk to Phantip Market area. But definitely need taxi to the site of Full Moon Party lol Yes, also had a lot of tour agencies just outside the hotel. And laundry services, I did mine at a cheap 80 baht...and it came back ironed and with a nice fragance ...Highly recommended. (ok, they do have some self service laundry too at 30 bht per kg??? but definitely not ironed??)

This was the best hotel I stayed in Koh Phangan. Bryan in reception is AMAZING. This man deserves a raise. He really went above and beyond to help me get back a pair of shoes I left in a taxi. All of the staff was wonderful, especially the hard-working guys in the restaurant. Koko greeted me each morning at breakfast with my coconut coffee. I had the best massage and facial at the spa with Lin. I’ve been dreaming about it ever since I left! I stayed in the beachfront villa which was perfect. I loved being able to walk straight out the door (climbing over the rocks) and into the sea. Watching the sunset each night was beautiful. It’s an easy walk to shops and restaurants nearby if you don’t rent a scooter. This section of beach is very peaceful. I’m looking forward to staying here again!

Good hotel room nearby the seaside

Hotel itself is on a beautiful beach and the resort and rooms are very nice. However, the management and service was the worst I experienced on a 4 month trip to Thailand. Example #1: We negotiated a private van with the manager of the hotel for a fixed price. Then, the morning of the trip, we asked whether it would be an issue if two additional people joined us. The management did not respond. We then asked other questions, to which the management did respond. Then, when we went to get on the van later that day, the manager said the price would be approximately 30% more, and that we had to ”take it or leave it.” We obviously should have been notified of the significant increase in price earlier, as we could have arranged for alternate transportation. Ultimately, the management agreed to a price between what was originally quoted and the high price, but it took another 15-20 minutes of significant haggling and complaining, none of which should have happened. Example #2: Our friend staying at the hotel at the same time as us had negotiated a weekly rate. When she asked for a room cleaning, the management then said it would be another 200 THB per cleaning. Our friend agreed to that, and the staff came by and only swept the floor. She asked for the bed sheets to also be changed, and the management said it would be another 50 THB! Seriously, don't do business with these people! Also, note that check out is at 11 AM, not 12 PM. We asked for a late checkout after getting last-minute notice of this and were initially denied, but again after a lot of haggling were able to squeeze this out of them, even though the hotel was largely empty during covid and there was virtually no chance that our rooms were booked. After these incidents, we purposefully did not eat breakfast at the hotel the morning of our check out because none of us wanted to give another dollar to the owner of this hotel.

Went to Milky Beach for drinks and lunch. Tony and Christopher were amazing servers. Highly recommend, we’ll be back for sure! If you’re looking for a good time, attentive staff and good food, you’re at the right place.

Visited a few days after the Full Moon Party and the beach was pristine. It is rated as the best beach on the island, and I would agree. The hotel is located at the end of the beach in between two lovely restaurants and set back slightly from the beach. The rooms are big, extremely clean and had the most comfortable bed of our entire trip. We asked for smaller pillows and this was delivered immediately. The hotel was covered in Frangipani trees and fruit trees that attracted one lone monkey during our visit. This hotel is amazing for the price and the hotel staff were polite and friendly but not intrusive - just right. We asked to be picked up from the ferry and they took us directly to the hotel or you will be walking on the sand to get there. The hotel owner picked us up and gave us some great tips for our stay on the island. We have already recommended this hotel to some friends we met in Bangkok.

The structure is beautiful and the landscape, especially at sunset, is wonderful, the bed was very comfortable and the evening quiet was dreamlike! How I miss him.... However, two notes must be made: Just 1 towel per person is really little. I have long hair and when I got out of the shower I didn't have another towel to tie it up. Unfortunately I forgot my bathrobe at home so I had to use the one at the pool. I asked for a second one but the following day it wasn't given back to me and having been told that they only give 1, I didn't ask again but it was really inconvenient. Also they will only replace 1 towel per guest and not the other. Having a wet towel the next day is not good, it has never happened to me. The pool was in a terrible state when we arrived. The water was green, dirty and disgusting. We waited to see if anyone would clean but the following day still nothing. We reported this to reception, they gave a semi-clean but it still wasn't in order. On the third day we finally managed to use it but out of 4 days, 2 we only looked at it and it's not good. There is the sea but given the presence of lethal cube jellyfish in the rainy season, I don't risk my life and I prefer the swimming pool since the only protection nets against jellyfish are in Haad Rin. There is no wine shop as in the photo but given the island we understood why. If we had had the chance to speak to the owner we would have said everything in person but maybe that will be for another time because it is a fabulous place and we will definitely be back! Breakfast was not bad but little choice for vegans.

Amazing place with great view. The staff is just the best I’ve ever seen, we became great friends. The room was very nice and clean, Wi-Fi router was present inside the room, the speed was great too. Utopia on Phangan is strait up legendary, you will not be disappointed. Make sure you ask every question to the staff, they will help you with any problem, I’ve never seen such dedication. One of the best places to get familiar with the island, as it’s quite and has everything you need.

Overall the hotel was nice but in several point not what we expected: We booked a „villa with sea view“. There was no sea view at the villa that was assigned to us. You couldn’t see the sea neither from within the villa nor from the pool nor from the sun beds nor from the outside bath tub. The only way to see a glimpse of the sea was to stand up on a certain spot on the terrace. That’s not what we expected from a room advertised as „with sea view“ and the (trip.com) booking page also suggested otherwise. When we complained, we got assigned another villa where we could see the sea partly. Thank you for that. However, the manager told us that the photos from the booking page were in fact another villa. But it's not my responsibility to make sure that the photos and pictures provided on booking pages are correct. The hotel has to take care of that! This holds also true for the next issue: The gym was closed due to renovation. In the booking process, they advertised a huge fitness center with lots of machines. Now it’s shut down and we did not get any information about this. The „mini gym“, which does not even have at least one multi exercise machine, is nothing but a bad joke and no replacement at all for a proper gym! Again the staff told us they would inform about this on their website. When I checked that, I still found the photos of the large gym on their own website. It was just called ”mini gym”. But how am I supposed to know what they mean by that and that the provided photos are no longer correct??
