Hotels in East Railway Station, Kunming

Seriously, everyone, this hotel absolutely made my trip! The moment I stepped into the lobby, the warm lighting, the subtle, pleasant fragrance, and the perfectly chosen soft music instantly melted away all my travel fatigue. The front desk staff were incredibly efficient with the check-in and so enthusiastic; they even recommended a bunch of interesting, lesser-known local spots. Walking into the room, it was incredibly clean and spacious. The bedding was so soft and fluffy, lying on it felt like floating on clouds. The bathroom fixtures were all high-end brands, and there wasn't a single water mark or stain anywhere. The hotel's location is also unbeatable. Just a few steps out, and you're on a vibrant food street, with MixC City right across the road. Behind the hotel, there's another snack street, offering all sorts of local specialties – I ate until I was absolutely stuffed! It's also close to popular attractions like Kunming Old Street, the Yunnan Military Academy, and Green Lake Park, all just a few minutes away by taxi. The breakfast spread was incredibly diverse too, with local specialties and even healthy/light options. It was a pleasant surprise, making someone like me, who's currently trying to eat healthier, feel incredibly happy! The hotel also offers many complimentary facilities, like a laundry room and a gym – convenience is definitely a priority here! Honestly, I couldn't find a single flaw with this stay. The staff were warm, welcoming, and professional. I'd confidently call this hotel the absolute pinnacle of the industry! If I *really* had to nitpick, it would be about the taxi service. Both on arrival, the driver dropped me off on the roadside, and when leaving, I had to walk to the intersection to catch a taxi. That's my only criticism, and it's directed at the Kunming taxi drivers, not the hotel itself! This hotel is absolutely perfect, and I'll definitely choose it again next time I'm in town!

The hotel boasts an elegant ambiance and brand-new facilities. The attentive and genuinely warm service made our entire stay exceed all expectations. Its prime location offers excellent transport convenience. The rooms were spotless and completely odor-free, providing fantastic value for money – truly highly recommended! The comfortable bedding ensured a restful night's sleep, complemented by excellent soundproofing. The breakfast spread was rich and varied, with quality truly evident in every thoughtful detail.

Excellent service by the 2 male hotel employees who went out of their way in assisting us with transport arrangements so we do not miss our train at the railway station. Very convenient location as the airport bus stops in front of the hotel, the subway station is within a few minutes walk from the hotel and a shopping mall is located right across the hotel.

The hotel is one of the newest to open in Kunming, which attracted me to choose Jen for my stay in the city.  The hotel is well located, with the MRT just beside the hotel, making travelling on the train very easy.  However, check-in/check out can be a lengthy affair, especially if you cannot speak Mandarin fluently, and the limited staff at the check-in desk.  As I booked this room using Trip.com, which comes with several benefits like breakfast and welcome drinks, I had a problem getting the reception to agree that my room includes breakfast and the welcome drinks.  And when I asked where I can claim my welcome drinks and dessert, I was initially told that it was already sent to my room.  But when I came down to the reception and asked where in the room my welcome drinks and dessert were was, I was informed by another reception manager that I had to have the drinks at the 'Open House' cafe besides the reception.  At the 'Open House,' I was shown the welcome drinks menu, and instead of offering me a seat inside to enjoy my drinks, I was given my canned soft drinks selection in a plastic bag to take back to the room. The most uncomfortable part of my stay was the toilet, which made a loud shuddering noise whenever the cistern was filled. Initially, I thought it was another hotel guest slamming the room door hard.  But I later realised it was coming from my toilet.  I didn't complain to the front desk as I would have guessed that the previous guest would have already done so, and nothing has been done to fix the problem yet.  And I didn't want to change rooms again given my short stays ( I had upgraded to this room from an earlier booking direct with the hotel).  Another issue was the room water dispenser was not working, and it was only when we informed the reception that it was not working, the reception subsequently sent up a kettle.  And on my last night of stay, the emergency white light came on several times briefly in the middle of the night. Breakfast had a good selection offering local, Asian and western options.  I especially like the freshly made wonton noodle soup and congee. Overall, I like the hotel  despite the slight issues I encountered and would like to stay here again.  I believe these are just teething issues of a new hotel which would be ironed out in due time.  I would highly recommend this hotel for visitors to Kunming.

Very compact hotel, the bed is moderately hard and soft. One side of one pillow is rice bran, and the other side is soft. Another pillow is completely soft. Fresh fruit and water are delivered to the room every day. The shampoo, shower gel and conditioner are of good quality, similar to big brands. No need to bring your own. We checked in very late on the first night. My child had her period and I didn't bring sanitary napkins. I didn't expect the front desk to give me 5 sanitary napkins with the Meiduo logo. I was very surprised and grateful. The next day, my child had a stomachache and could only lie down in the hotel to rest. I asked the front desk if there was a hot water bottle. I didn't expect them to fill it with hot water and send it to the room. It made us feel relieved when we were outside! The hotel is very close to subway lines 3 and 4, less than 5 minutes' walk away. It takes 20 minutes to get to Jingui Street by subway line 4 to Dounan Flower Market. It takes about 15 minutes by taxi from Kunming Station, about 10 yuan. It is 2 stops away from Zhengyi Road Pedestrian Street.

Had a wonderful stay at this hotel in Kunming! The lobby was warm and cozy — a lovely first impression that made me feel welcome right away. The staff were incredibly attentive and always ready to help with a smile, which really made a difference throughout my stay. The facilities were recently updated and everything felt fresh, clean, and thoughtfully designed. A great balance of comfort, modernity, and excellent service. Would definitely stay here again!

The overall ambiance was pleasant, though the evening atmosphere could be enhanced. The bed was very soft and offered a wonderfully enveloping comfort. The bathroom featured a convenient wet/dry separation. We also appreciated the welcome amenity upon check-in and the departure gift. On the downside, the soundproofing wasn't ideal.

This was the perfect hotel for me in Kunming. I gave the 6 out of 5 ratings for new, great, clean facilities and wonderful breakfast. But most of all I was very impressed with the friendliness of the hotel staff. Among them I want to highlight the hotel manager Zhou Chingmin who provided great checkin and orientation. I was not feeling well due to the high altitude and she was so kind to provide me with air cleaner and to inform me that they could find oxygen canister if I needed one. She was an example of customer care expert and I am very greaful for that.

Overall, it was a pretty good experience, and my first stay at a Marriott-affiliated hotel didn't disappoint. However, perhaps because the hotel is relatively new, I felt the front office staff's professionalism could use some improvement. I was informed that extra amenities would be placed in the room prior to my arrival, but they were only delivered after I had already checked in. It seemed like they didn't pay close attention to booking details or special requests. My reservation clearly indicated one complimentary breakfast was included, but the front desk initially told me my room didn't come with breakfast. Oddly, after I inquired about the price to add breakfast, they then offered it to me for free. I had noted a preference against a corner room, but that's what I was assigned. While it wasn't a major issue and I didn't really mind, the front desk still called to offer a room change *after* I had already unpacked. I called to inquire about children's bathrobes. I was initially quite surprised when the operator confirmed they had them, as Four Points is typically a select-service hotel, and I didn't expect such comprehensive children's amenities. However, they called back shortly after to inform me they actually didn't provide them. On a positive note, all the staff members had a very good service attitude. The housekeeping attendants, in particular, were exceptionally warm and professional. When delivering items, they offered thoughtful advice and showed genuine care. They would also proactively greet me in the hallway in the mornings and patiently ask about my preferred cleaning time and any specific needs. The F&B department's hygiene level also felt like it needed improvement. I bought some fruit and asked for a plate, but the first one delivered had several unidentifiable marks on it. Furthermore, the lobby bar's operating hours were unclear. I specifically wanted to experience it, but when I arrived, I was told the bartender was off for the day. This detail was not mentioned even when I called specifically to inquire about their operating hours. Overall, it offered excellent value for money, and its convenient location made it very easy to access city attractions. However, the service quality of both the Front Office and F&B departments could definitely use some improvement.
