I have stayed at this hotel twice in London. The location is very convenient. It is close to Russell Square. Across the square is the British Museum. It is very convenient to see exhibitions. Next to UCL, there are many students and full of vitality. The surrounding transportation is convenient. All kinds of bus stations are convenient to go anywhere. It takes 10 minutes to walk to St. Pancras and King's Cross stations. The hotel has a large passenger flow. There are many students from all over the world who come to study, so the service can keep up with it, which is very good. I think it would be hard to find a better value hotel in the area, and I recommended it to a friend visiting London last year, and the feedback was great. Continue to live afterwards.

The front desk staff were very enthusiastic. The room was compact and cute overall, and the hygiene was excellent. Although the breakfast in the morning was simple, you could tell it was made with great care given the limited budget.

Absolutely recommend for solo travelers! The location is fantastic, right by Russell Square and just one stop from King's Cross. It's clean, and the price is really reasonable. Plus, the Wi-Fi is better than a lot of other hotels.

Location is the absolute highlight, but inadequate housekeeping significantly detracted from our stay.
The hotel boasts an amazing, central location with easy tube access and walking distance to many sites, plus lovely seasonal lighting nearby. The room, while compact, featured comfortable bunk beds that the kids loved and a good shower. Minimum design with simple wooden frame make the room simple.
However, service was a major letdown. The setup is windowless and compact, leading to a lack of fresh air. Crucially, housekeeping was almost non-existent. For a six-night stay, we were disappointed that the bathroom—specifically the sink (which drains very slowly) and toilet—was never cleaned, despite an explicit request after the scheduled 'cleaning' night. Occasionally, noisy corridor noises late at night.
Overall: Fantastic location and functional beds, but the inconsistent and poor housekeeping (especially the lack of a bathroom clean) is a serious issue.

Can’t beat the location. It’s so close to Oxford Circuit , British Museum and Picadilly. It’s a very good price in such London’s busy area.
Stuffs are very friendly.
The hotel is a bit old. Trip.com said it’s just renovated but seems I can’t see it. Some spider web in the room. Closet is broken. Carpet is not too clean. A bit noisy when people walking upstairs and downstairs.
Overall for such price in London I would say it’s acceptable.

We booked 3 room for 2 nights. 2 doubles and a twin. I had to change rooms for one of the doubles. The room 705 which is on the top floor had a constant loud buzzing noise throughout the night which kept me awake for so long that I fell into sleep for a short while through sheer exhaustion. I woke up again to this loud noise very early morning. I complained to Reception staff and was moved the next day to a different room a floor down.
The staff were very good and listened to my complaint. So Im happy about that. Shame the first night was spoilt for me. Apart from that Issue, everything else was perfect. Surprising for a small hotel, was the fab breakfast that was on offer. There was full English breakfast buffet style and a lot more if you did not fancy real bacon and pork sausages. All the amenities in our rooms were great and location was a 2 minute walk away from Paddington Station. I would just say that room 705 should come with a warning about the constant noise that is very obvious when you need a shuteye in the night. Also there were fittings missing from the room and the door to the room did not shut properly. We had to slam it shut everytime. Other than that, all great.
St Athans Hotel is a basic, family run, budget hotel in Bloomsbury, London. It is centrally located and has convenient transport links. The nearest tube stop, Russell Square, is a 3 minute walk, Kings Cross St Pancras (where you can get the Eurostar to Paris) is a 9 minute walk. The British Museum and The British Library can be reached on foot within 8 minutes. The hotel is made up of architecturally listed, Georgian townhouses (over 200 years old); there are steep stairs, 4 floors and we do not have an elevator. We have budget friendly rooms with shared bathrooms and more expensive rooms with a private bathroom. Please choose the most suitable room for your requirements. There is free wireless internet access throughout, a communal living room/lounge with a hot drinks station, tour/ticket assistance, a 24-hour front desk, and multilingual (including Mandarin) staff. Make yourself at home in one of the individually decorated guestrooms. Housekeeping is provided daily, and irons/ironing boards, hairdryers and electrical adaptors are available on request.

Great location, friendly staff and great luggage storage for free on the day of departure.
Our room was comfortable with a basin and a wardrobe.
There was a fan and we had the window wide open as it was stifling in London this week.
The only negative is that the loo/ shower wasn’t on our floor - so it was a bit of a gamble whether you would need to wait for it on the level below or above.

We loved our stay at the Caring Hotel. It's in a lovely quiet location, perfect for exploring in and around Kensington. Nice restaurants & pubs close by, Kensington Gardens/Palace are a short stroll away, its near to a main bus route into centre of London, there are 2 tube stops reasonably close by, but its still only a 10min walk to Paddington Station which is a great transport hub.
It's not the fanciest of hotels, but we had everything we needed. Our room had been refurbished (and matched the website pics). Nicely decorated with great storage, more plug sockets than anyone could ever need, good mirrors, tea/coffee facilities, TV and a comfy bed. The only thing that let it down was the bathroom, which had not been refurbished so was a bit tired and extremely small...but did it matter...not really because it did the job! The staff are lovely and were really helpful. The breakfast included in the price is a Continental breakfast though NOT an English breakfast (as advertised). However, there was a reasonable choice on the buffet and more than enough to start the day...cereals, yoghurts, fruit, toast, croissants, pastries, jams, cheese & ham, fruit juice, tea/coffee. For the price we paid we thought the hotel was perfect (for us!).
If you want a good meal out then visit the Halepi Greek for an authentic experience. The restaurant is crammed full with a mix of long tables for social dining and smaller tables, but the food is absolutely amazing!. Would definitely recommend booking as it gets extremely busy. For a lovely day out catch the bus to Holland Park to see the stunning Kyoto Gardens, or travel a little bit further to Little Venice for a nice wander along the canal, or just simply walk across the road into Kensington Park to enjoy the open space and marvel at Kensington Palace, or stroll down Billionaires Row along Kensington Palace Gardens to see how the other half live. It's all just a stones throw from the centre of London but it feels like you're a million miles away from all the hustle and bustle.
Just a word of warning though, you have to pay for luggage storage. Probably cheaper than the going rate in London but its a shame that it's not included in the cost of your stay. However, I would much rather pay to keep it safe and be bag free than lug cases around London!

LLouise_housleyHad a great one-night stay in London! Check-in was quick and easy, and the hotel is in a great location, close to plenty of food spots in the gardens. I grabbed a delicious morning bagel before checking out at 12pm, which was super convenient. We also had access to the pool but sadly ran out of time to use it, definitely something to try next time!
GGuest UserThe staff and service provided was top tier. Lee and Abhir were very friendly and supportive with any needs.
The hotel is in a great location in walking distance to many places or easy to catch public transport.
Amenities provided were great. Only think I'd add is some wooden spatulas as opposed to metal as the pan provided is non stick so pan was scratched up from the metal utensils provided. Again this is a very minor issue majority of the experience was so lovely and we would definitely stay here again.
GGuest UserVery nice staff, very helpful. Breakfast buffet available, and when I needed to leave very early in the morning they provided me some cold food(croissants, muffins, oranges and hot coffee/chocolate).
They also provide tooth brush/paste, shaving set, comb when asked at the reception.
A couple of minor things: corridors are a bit hard to navigate for me, was not obvious which door leads to elevators, needed to read the signs after getting lost 😅.
I am not sure but breakfast seems to be the same every day? On the second day of my stay eggs were not there, but the rest was the same, I guess. I loved the option that you can grab a cup of coffee/chocolate/tea with you to go after you finished your breakfast. Not sure about every room, but mine didn't have a refrigerator, but I remember in my other IHG hotel stay there was one. Also hearing is possible only via air conditioner, and the maximum temperature is regulated, as I understood.
Otherwise very neet hotel, clean, friendly.
GGuest UserThe experience was 10/10. I booked this hotel through Trip.com and more than happy to pay for what I got as the room was beautifully decorated when we went in, the decor, the ambiance, the location, vibe everything was wonderful . Located in the heart of London.
Will deffo book again ❤️
GGuest UserIt took a while for the air conditioner to work, but the staff was really helpful and supportive. The ground floor is aesthetically decorated. Generally I’m satisfied!
MM.AshalThe reception team were friendly at check in, and I was given a beautiful tin of truffles and some drinks vouchers (maybe as a diamond member?). This was really a special touch and appreciated.
However the room itself wasn’t great. I’ve stayed in quite a few London hotels so know you don’t get lots of space and for 1 night you don’t need much, but this room was so small it was a struggle to move about.
The air conditioning was on but it was weak. Thankfully the window opened slightly but it remained warm in the room.
Bathroom was dated, quite small and felt cheap.
Minor point but the pillows and duvet didn’t feel like the usual Hilton ones, they seemed thicker…
Overall, it was clean, relatively quiet and had great service which is all that’s really needed, but it felt more of a budget hotel with Hilton price tag.
I do think they are doing everything they can to make stays as good as possible, since they can’t really do anything about the room sizes.
DDaveHaighHotel was clean and staff friendly, did a bag drop with no issues as arrived early morning and left bag until after check out as leaving late. Breakfast was simple but plentiful. Double room was compact but adequate for my needs. Good value for money and great location, 5 mins walk from Euston station.
WWattobyteLocation is superb, near Bayswater and Queensway station within 50 meters (no lift) also bus stop nearby easy to access anywhere.
Hotel is clean and they make up the room every day.
Newly renovated with reasonable price.
Breakfast is really good, all you can eat. When I was there, there is an Asian food as well.
Malaysian food downstairs is really good, strongly recommended! As Asian, I really enjoy the meal here.
They gave me early check in at 11 in the morning which is much appreciated.
Overall is 10/10
GGuest UserBIG THANKS to 'Best Wester Greater London Hotel' on Cranbrook Road, booked via the amazing Trip.com discounts 🙌 🙏 ❤️
The team service here is one of the best... the care and support from Stephan, Sarah, Hassan, Maksym, Natalie, Yana, Triveni, etc is one reason I will always book here - they will do their best to fulfill your needs 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Also, walking distance near Ilford station, bus stop and ALL shops XCEL centre, nearby.
Rooms are pristine clean, quiet options, non-smoking, and comfy, powerful hot shower 🚿 and delicious breakfast, most tasty ground coffee, fresh orange juice, bargain value for money.
Gratitude 🙏
2201675****The room was tiny, barely enough space to turn around, and once we opened our suitcases, they completely blocked the door. As for the shower, it was barely usable, just enough to get by.
The upside is the incredibly convenient location. It's right next to Paddington Station and the tube, making it super easy to get anywhere. Hyde Park is just a few hundred meters away – perfect for a stroll through the park, enjoying the scenery, and feeding the pigeons. Buckingham Palace is only about a kilometer further. During the Christmas season, Regent Street is just four bus stops and a hundred-meter walk away.
It was quite expensive, but that's London for you. It really depends on what you prioritize. If you just need a place to sleep that's well-located for exploring, it's a decent option.
