Always a great stay here, but this is my first with my partner. All was great but this time I discovered the bed isn’t that good for two and the mattress was nowhere near as comfortable as I remember. Only a minor quibble though.
As always the staff were lovely, efficient and friendly.

Hotel is very nice and close to river. But it is a bit far from metro, train station and city centre, so we have to book uber or walk long distances. So if anyone is booking, please make sure to check the distances. However, it is excellent if you are having or you are coming on your own vehicle, as they are having huge car parking area.

The location is very good - a short walk from train station
Food: I had breakfast included in my package but I am NOT very happy with the choices in the SMALL buffet they presented. Very limited choices, waste of money .
Rooms: the rooms are very SMALL and not expected for this hotel brand.
Apparently I was confused with the word FLEX , which is a budget standard hotel. They charge £2.50 for dental kit… what a joke!
Reception staff: Friendly staff and welcoming- no problem there.
Missing basic amenities, which does NOT really cost them a lot, leaves negative impression on the hotel.
Overall impression: Not very happy and wound NOT recommend if you are looking for decent stay with luxury, bearing in mind, the prices i was charged are NOT cheap…

The hotel staff were very friendly & very attentive, which was lovely. I was upgraded to a suite, which was nice to have a lot of space.
The shower pressure was great and the room & bathroom was very clean. The bed was very lumpy/had a dip in it, so unfortunately, wasn't the best night's sleep and I woke up with a bad back, but this may have just been the room I was in.
The breakfast in the morning was average compared to other breakfast buffet's I have had in hotels recently but the atmosphere was very chilled.
For a one night stay, the hotel did the job.

The cleanliness of the hotel deteriorated, and the furniture and fixtures were also torn and worn out.
The water closet had dirts inside on thd day when we arrived. The dirts still attached to the water closet when we left.
The mattress was not In good condition, it was not flat but like a shallow basin in the middle.
The bed also had problem. When you sleep on it and want to change your position and turn to the other side, the wooden part of the bed shook and create a big ”eat. eat, eat” sound.
The room door of all the rooms on the fifth floor were with problem, in order to close it properly. You have to close the door with severe force and result in a big ”bang, bang” sound. This is extremely disturbing to other guests especially when this happened when they were sleeping.
The hotel is old and fully utilized during the past years, it needs instant maintenance and upgrading.

The hotel is located next to Newcastle Central station minutes from the Cathedral, the Castle, the centre of the city near Monument. The hotel entrance has a faded grandeur that isn't intimidating, more comfortably worn. The room was cosy with bathtub and shower. The WiFi was a little temperamental but works fine. A plus for me was the pool and spa facilities at the hotel. Nothing better than a swim to start the day. Excellent location and good value hotel.

Amazing
GGuest UserExcellent stay at the Dakota in Newcastle. Very professional and friendly staff at check-in and the grill. Quality of the room was fantastic, had everything we needed
GGuest UserWell, I'll be honest, because it was a hotel near the airport I wasn't expecting much. But it exceeded my expectations. The room was lovely, super comfortable bed and we didn't hear a sound all night. Slept really well. Bathroom was great. Everything you needed and lovely shower gel, shampoo and conditioner.
Dinner in the hotel was really very good indeed. Staff were attentive and friendly.
Breakfast offered an excellent choice of breakfast goodies - fruit, yoghurt, pastries, three different kinds of bread, sausages, eggs 2 ways, beans, bacon and mushrooms.
Coffee was available in an urn but wasn't great.
Looking forward to returning sometime.
GGuest UserI had 4 suites booked. A 21st birthday and 40th on the same day. Happy with the location and what was available in the hotel. But. Bar was closed early, bathrooms were good but grouting was a little under kept and my biggest disappointment was breakfast. Took nearly 40mins for an eggs Benedict. Was a bit disappointed with that due to the amount I spent on rooms. Sorry for the critical feedback, other than those few bits. Parking was easy, check in time great, staff good.
11863528****The room was very spacious, with two bedrooms, a kitchen, and a living room. It was clean and tidy, and the shower had good water pressure. The front desk staff were enthusiastic and helpful. It's only a 5-minute walk to the train station. However, the front desk didn't hand over my passport when I checked in, which caused some delays during check-out the next morning.
GGuest UserBooked a room away from the lift. Gave us a room next to the lift. Went down to see ifcwe could get it changed as we wanted a quiet room On check in we requested this so obviously next to the lift facing the stack is not a quiet room. Next room was directly above the hotels air conditioning unit gave up as obviously the receptionist was having a serious customer service melt down especially when we went out 10 minutes later and she called over ..is that room OK for you? Obviously not as the air conditioning unit screamed all night long we just said yes as what was the best room going to be ?? Certainly will not be back thanks to the totally piss taking receptionist
GGuest UserBest I can say is,it is somewhere to lay your head for the night. It is perfect if you or a family member have a flight from Newcastle as long as youre not concerned about cleanliness.the bath and toilet weren't the cleanest with the tile grouting being full of dark spots. The decor is dated in this hotel dark and tired looking really needs a freshen up.Staff look and act like they dont want to be there, not the friendliest hotel staff I've encountered.
매매미곶감Though not in the immediate city center, getting around is easy with Jesmond Station nearby and a bus stop directly in front. It's situated in a residential area, offering convenient access to pubs and supermarkets. The room was spacious and impeccably clean, and the bedding was spotless.
GGuest UserOn the day of check in I arrived early because I had an early train and I had nowhere to go, it was rainy and cold. It was nice that people answered the bell and collected my luggage, but they didn't let me stay on the common area because it was early, so don't count with early check in even if you contact them previously or you can pay £25 for it, no flexibility at all.
The cleaning was fantastic and amazing no-smoking area, really rare in the UK, most places people don't respect the law. Lovely common area with complimentary coffee, tea, milk, biscuits, bread, fruits, etc. The staff is very kind and concerned to provide the best!
I had an extra heater in the room that was really useful as it was freezing cold.
GGuest UserPleasant view on residential garden, and the location is accessible to the town centre by bus. The breakfast pack provided is great for a hurry up to catch the quick pace on journey.
GGuest UserRoom ok, staff friendly, downstairs is the Blance bar where you have 25% discount on food and drink, the only negative note is the breakfast is not like in the photos and they don't have a coffee machine but a machine that dispenses everything with blends
