GGuest UserOne of the best hotels during my stay in Kyushu region. Super comfortable and staffs are very welcoming. Room is spacious with a lot of walking space. Located next to Beppu Station and super accessible to nearby shops and everything, with a Lawson and Family Mart within 2 mins of walk. The best part of this hotel is the whole building is on tatami mats as it is my favorite. There is 7 private onsens here so there's no need to rush for it although there might be a queue for it, but it queues for a short while only. Will definitely come back here again if I visit Beppu and try other Onyado Nono in other regions.

XXiaolizi1972It's a historic hotel with a hot spring culture. Located on a mountain, it's inaccessible by public transportation; a taxi from the station costs around 100 RMB, but calling a taxi is convenient. The hotel has three private hot springs, marked with round signs outside. You can enter when you see an empty one, but there will be someone inside. Most rooms have private hot springs, and they are very nice. It's best to book a room with a private hot spring, as the other rooms are quite basic and not as refined as those around Mount Fuji. The cleanliness is also just average; the tables were dusty. Dinner is Japanese cuisine, beautiful and delicious, with fresh ingredients. Prices have increased significantly during the National Day holiday; the usual price of around 3000 RMB is quite good.

GGuest UserLoved this hotel. The location is great, and the staff were very helpful throughout my stay. I got a room with a view of the parking lot, which wasn’t the best, but it was still fine. You can also open the window, which I really appreciated. The room wasn’t very big, but it was clean, and the bed was large and very comfortable. The layout was also well thought out — there was plenty of space to sit and enough convenient places to put your things. My favorite part was definitely the onsen — just wow. There was one large indoor bath with an incredible city view (especially impressive since it’s on the top floor), and my absolute favorite was the smaller outdoor onsen. You could just lie back, look out over the city, and relax. What I especially loved was that even though it was cold outside, the water temperature was perfectly hot. The rooftop pool was also fantastic. The water was heated, and the view from there was just as incredible. The only downside for me was the number of people. There were a lot of tourists, so breakfast could get quite crowded, but if you go at the right time, it’s much better.  after opening time it will be ok.

AAnonymous UserWe stayed as a group of 4, and the room was spacious enough for us. The location is very convenient, with a mall, shops, and restaurants all within walking distance. The hotel offers parking for 500 yen per day, and the room rate is very affordable. There are also free drinks available on the ground floor, as well as coin-operated laundry and dryers. One downside is that there is no elevator, but the staff are kind and helpful with carrying luggage. The walls are a bit thin, so you may hear some noise from neighboring rooms, but we were fortunate that other guests were respectful, so it wasn’t a big issue.

AAnonymous UserThe room and the Onsen were EXACTLY like those in the listing and were absolutely stunning! The breakfast was delicious and the range more than adequate. The location is good if you drive but is about 1km walk to Beppu Tower and a bit more from the night street. But I’d happily trade that for the spacious room and the wonderful sea and sunrise view.

MM231559****This Hoshino Kai hotel meets the usual high standards of the chain, and its direct ocean view is a big plus. The food, however, was just okay—nothing special compared to other Kaiseki meals I've had elsewhere. My mom even said she wasn't full. The small ice cream was delicious though! The staff's English was pretty good, and they were very enthusiastic when communicating.

OOlga TarIf you're considering this hotel, you'd better stay at Yula-Re. We booked almost the largest room they have and it felt very cheap and cramped still. Glad we stayed only a single night there. The rooms are small even for Japan, and it's impossible to fit luggage under the bed, so it feels even more cramped. The bathroom has a ridiculously high floor, we tripped over the entrance so many times... And the bath is so tiny that you'll have to use Yula-Re's onsen to wash. There are 9 or 10 floors but only one elevator, slow and tiny, so we had to wait for unreasonable time every time we wanted to go out. The pajamas are nice but the wooden slippers are so broken they ask to kill them rather than be worn one more time. The worst was the bed cover paired with the sheet you have to use instead of a normal blanket. Felt so unhygienic... There were several good points, though: the service was good and friendly, the location is great - just steps away from Beppu station, bus stop, combini and cafes nearby. And the possibility to freely use Yula-Re's amenities such as rooftop pool and onsen! But then again, consider staying at Yula-Re. This hotel didn't feel like value for money.

温泉ラバーひーちゃんGreat value for money, and the location in the city center is perfect if you're just looking for a place to sleep. The ryokan itself was spacious, and the room and bath were also very nice.

EEinfachDillonNicely located hotel with free Onsen. The rooms are fairly old and mine was once a smoker friendly room, which explains the slight smell of cigarettes and the yellowish walls. It is great that the hotel is located directly in front of the main station, but be aware of outside noise. I still slept like a stone so for the price I can recommend it.
