Talk about the bad first!
Hygiene: You have to stay for seven nights before someone can do hygiene! Sheets were stained. There are black spots on the towel, and there are small insects on the carpet that itch.
In terms of hardware: the building is considered new, and the decoration is also considered new, but there are also many flaws. There is no air conditioner, there are as many fans as there are rooms. Only open windows and blow fans in summer.
Convenient configuration: All bath products, any daily necessities that you can imagine will be given to you in a normal hotel, all need to be purchased by yourself. Some kitchen utensils are installed and left enough and cannot cook properly.
Reservation: Make sure that adults must be 25 years old to make an appointment. If you are under the age of 25, you must apply for occupancy with your parents. Appointments were slow and emails came and went, and Trip.com didn't help much either.
Talk about the benefits!
Location: It is about 5 minutes away from the Cross Habour DLR station. It is also a 15-20 minute walk to the canary waft. There are two supermarkets nearby.
Accessories: There is a washing machine with dry laundry function. There is a dishwasher and a large refrigerator.
Scenery: The scenery is not bad if you look at the riverside.
All in all, the price/performance ratio is definitely cheaper than hotels in the same area, and the space is very spacious. But it's more troublesome if you can't tolerate hygiene problems.

Hotel was great. However the paint on the swimming pool roof was terrible. Also finding the parking was a nightmare with little to no help from reception.
We went to one of their events in the bar and it was dreadful, was mainly a staff party. Promised three acts starting at 8pm however by 1130pm we only saw one act so we left after paying £30 entry.
Would stay again but I would like to see many changes.

The staff was very welcoming, friendly, helpful & courteous. The hotel was easy to find and within close proximity of restaurants & bars. I was looking forward to the stay. However when I arrived on Thursday, 16th May around 9:00PM I was told by both receptionists that I had two rooms booked when only one was booked. I booked twice through another party and cancelled both and showed this to them on the app, clearly showing cancellations. They weren't really interested and said it was not their problem but mine! The said that I would be charged a no-show fee after midnight for the room, which would be about £300. I told them several times that I had proof of cancellation but they did not accept this. The told me to call the agents myself and sort it out. I had to send a message and call the agents at this time of night. Fortunately the agency was extremely helpful and said emails had been sent to the property indicating the cancellations and not to worry (unlike the two girls at reception). They then promised to contact the hotel directly and inform them. About 20 mins after sorting it out, the duty manager called me and said that it was sorted, I told them I had already sorted it myself after being told to by those two girls at reception. So it looked like the oversight was the hotel itself, not me, nor the agency. The agency also tried to call them to speak about the issue but nobody picked up the phone, even though there were two on duty and it was quiet. NOT the nicest or friendliest welcome to a hotel at all!!
Aside from this, the room had a great view from the 25th floor, bed was not very comfortable and small. Staff were mostly nice, but some were miserable. All the other reception staff we spoke to were lovely. Breakfast was alright. Best thing about the hotel is the views really. I think if I hadn't had such an uncaring welcome, it wouldn't have tarnished my overall view.

My experience at the Britannia Hotel was mostly positive. However, the split bed arrangement was not ideal. I had booked for two people but ended up going alone, and the divided bed was inconvenient. Additionally, I expected a room near the window but was given one on the opposite side, which had a view of the road instead of Canary Wharf. Overall, it was a good stay, especially since I only spent a few hours there.

Booked one night for a wedding. It's a nice boutique hotel, one of the cheaper options at the time for the area – but still London price range. Located in Wood Wharf, a newer area of Canary Wharf there was a lot of construction nearby and thus a few roads were closed. There's a Dishoom next door as well as the hotel's own restaurant which I did not try. Also a few coffee shops and other restaurants opposite the hotel and Amazon Fresh (self-serve store) was across the road.
For London hotels, expect the amenities to be mediocre. Surprisingly, there was free bottled water in the room, unfortunately, it tasted like the cardboard it came in. Shower was good, was powerful and the hot water was sufficient. Thankfully, the shampoo and conditioner was not 2 in 1, but the body wash and hand wash was. Room overall was cramped, no room for a medium sized suitcase, I had a cabin sized suitcase and needed to keep it closed to be able to walk around the room. Mattress and pillows are on the very very soft side.
A little disappointing that check-in is so late and strictly at 3pm and check-out is so early at 11am. I only stayed 1 night it so really felt how short it was. Didn't interact with staff so much, but nothing out of the ordinary. TV services was strangely cut-off after 1am - not sure if just by coincidence, but it came back on in the morning.
Super close to Canary Wharf station so that was nice.
Pretty much what was expected of an average London hotel, but if you've travelled to Asia or maybe even Europe you'll know there's still a lot of room for improvement/comparison especially in the cost-performance index.

The service was immaculate as all staff was friendly and helpful. The room was nice and had a great view. There was even a complimentary ferry directly to Canary Wharf. One improvement would be that on the trip app there is a photo of pool however this hotel does not have one. After booking we saw the picture of the pool and brought swim costumes unnecessarily due to this.
Nevertheless, I enjoyed my stay and would both recommend it to others and stay again myself.

I arrived at the hotel with my daughter for a three-night stay that was organized as a treat by my family. This break was much needed, and I was eager to enjoy our time there. On the first night, I discovered some issues with our room. I contacted the reception staff member, Ria, who handled the situation without hesitation. She promptly apologized and immediately arranged for us to change rooms.
The following day, I spoke with the general manager, Florin, who was exceptional. He assured me that the issues would be addressed and sincerely apologized for the inconvenience. Additionally, we were offered a room upgrade, complimentary drinks, a late check-out, and a partial refund. I could not have asked for more; his professionalism and approach were truly commendable, significantly enhancing our overall stay—an experience I have never encountered in a hotel before.
The staff members, Dhioovana and Olivia, were also fantastic. They were warm, welcoming, and consistently professional. No question was too much trouble for them, and they provided a wealth of information to help us navigate London. In my experience, the level of service from all the staff would not be out of place in a five-star hotel, which speaks volumes about their dedication.
Thank you to everyone for going above and beyond to make our stay memorable.

Outstanding
GGuest UserBe careful of being unknowingly charged with a ‘discussionary charge of tips’ (supposed to be A Conpulsory charge of tips, don’t be fool by the name, it is non-discussionary) AFTER CHECKING OUT of the hotel. I was being charged with a discussionary charge of the tips on the credit card automatically without being informed upfront after I checked out and left the hotel.
When I checked out, i was informed at the counter that they were closing their account for previous day and they would help me check out my room and email me the invoice of my stay after they finished closing account. As a result, I innocently left the hotel since I thought a 5-star hotel would not have anything gone wrong. However, I was totally wrong until I saw extra charges on my credit card while not receiving any so called invoice from the hotel at all. I then reached out to Trip.com to request for the invoice that they have promised to send to me and it was then I was informed that the extra charges were from a discussionary charge of tips. I wasn’t happy about the way this was done hence I requested for a refund for this since it clearly stated this is a DISCUSSIONARY fee, not a compulsory fee. However, I was informed that this is a Non-refundable fee and my request was denied.
Out of so many hotels I have stayed, it is unbelievable that in a 5-Star hotel, I was forced to pay something that wasn’t even being informed upfront. In addition, with the fee name suggested, it is a discussionary charge of tips NOT a compulsory charge of tips, the hotel has forced the customers to pay it as COMPULSORY CHARGE OF TIPS.
In addition, the hotel services were very inefficient and lot of rooms for improve. We ordered for an in-room meal and we were told that it would take about half an hour to deliver. Hence we waited, and until an hour later, there was no update on our meal and we had to make a call again to check for the progress of our meal. It was then we knew there was a delay in the meal. By the time we done with our meal, we made the call again to request for someone to collect the plates, we literally waited for more than an hour and had to call twice before someone came to pick up the plates.
This shouldn’t have been the service received in a 5-star hotel and the worst of all, the hotel should have more transparency in their charges and should have informed the customers on the charges upfront before the actual charging. When we signed for the amount paid for the meal, there were no statement on the discussionary charge of tips at all, and we didn’t expect there would be as we were not even informed.
It is not that we are unwilling to give the tips and we did give the tips during the stay. However, it made us very uncomfortable that we weren’t informed anything upfront and it was charged to my credit card AFTER we CHECKED OUT of THE HOTEL. It made us feeling very unsafe to provide the credit card to the hotel as they can charge whatever charges they want after checking out the hotel. In addition, it is a discussionary charge, isn’t it should be discussed before I was being charged? If not it should be called a a compulsory charge of tips.
KKevin1234Very nice hotel attached to the Royal National Hotel with a great location. Rooms were a good size with decent storage. Beds were super comfy and they included a fan in the room in case it was too warm.
The hand soap, shower gel and shampoo smelt amazing!!!!!
Breakfast is in a different area to the main hotel and is very nice.
Staff were very friendly and helpful. I would happily stay here again.
GGuest UserStay was great until I found out they took money from my bank for breakfast I didn’t take. I stated at check-in I didn’t want breakfast as I was at work early the following day.
I called the hotel for a refund, only to be told I need to send an email to the manager and they would check the cctv to ensure I didn’t attend breakfast.
IIanOur normal IHG Hotel was nearly fully booked therefore the price was prohibitive. We therefore took the opportunity to try for the first time the Sutton Hotel.
All the staff that we met either on the reception or restaurant were friendly, helpful and professional. The Hotel has full amenities including swimming pool, and although we did not use any, except the restaurant, everything looked excellent. Our queen’s standard room was ok but there were a few marks and stains on the carpet, plastic cups in the bathroom, no box of tissues and few plug sockets. All these things are noticed in comparison to our normal hotel at Epsom Downs. It is however true to say that this Hotel had a very good restaurant on sight which Epsom does not. Therefore there is no doubt we will certainly stay here again in the future.
Ttravelling loverconvenient location with walking distance to Shepherd Bush’s Mash station and Big shopping mall Westfield.
Impressive lobby deco and good reception service. However, it should be great if there is cleaner carpet and freezer facility in the room. The phone was not working to connect room service team and I had to visit the reception in person for service request .
CChua Yuet LeeWe are stay at this wonderful hotel for one nights.
Here are our honest comments:
1) The location is convenient, just two bus stops away from Terminal 5 by the No. 423 bus.
2) The bedroom is elegant and equipped with modern facilities. It is very clean, comfortable, and comes with high-quality bottled water, tea, coffee, and cookies.
3 )The bedding is also very comfortable for sleeping.
Overall, Keep up the good work and continue to provide high-quality service at a reasonable price for your customers.
Best regards, Kit Chua Malaysia
NNacho LeeAir con pretty much only blowing hot air instead of cold air, especially during our visit. We had to change room, even hotel engineer not able to fix it.
We asked for a fan, but it took a while nothing came.
The breakfast area is too crowded although quite a lot of selections.
Good walking distance to Westfield
AAnonymous UserRoom & bathroom are tiny.. just nice for the bed, not much space left for the luggage..
location is great, near Paddington station walking distance to Hyde park.
AAnonymous UserThe location is quite convenient. The room for 3 people (2 beds) is okay, not too small, and not too dirty. Shower room is a bit small but clean. There is a kitchen, microwave and sink. Overall I’m good with this stay.
AAngelI am writing to provide feedback on our recent stay at your hotel. While the location was excellent, we found that the hotel itself was in need of some improvements.
Firstly, I would like to highlight the positive aspect of our stay, which was the great location of the hotel. It was conveniently situated near various attractions and amenities, allowing us to easily explore the area. This was definitely a major advantage during our visit.
However, we were disappointed with the overall cleanliness and maintenance of the hotel. The rooms appeared to be in need of a deep cleansing, as there were noticeable stains on the carpets and walls. Additionally, the furniture and fixtures seemed worn out and outdated. A fresh coat of paint and new beds would greatly enhance the overall appearance and comfort of the rooms.
Furthermore, we found the lack of a welcoming lobby person to be quite disappointing. Upon arrival, we were not greeted or assisted by any staff members. This lack of hospitality made us feel unwelcome and left a negative impression.
In conclusion, while the location of the hotel was excellent, we believe that improvements are necessary to enhance the overall guest experience. A thorough cleaning, along with updates to the rooms and furniture, would greatly improve the comfort and aesthetics of the hotel. Additionally, having a friendly and welcoming lobby person would contribute to a more positive and enjoyable stay.
P.S. positive side- I truly appreciate the staff at the hotel who made the effort to move us to a more convenient floor. Additionally, it's always a pleasant experience when the breakfast lady is friendly and accommodating.
(No elevator/lift)
(I paid too much for 3nights so I was expecting a good place to relax after 27hours of travelling with a toddler).
