"Overall is ok but the cleanliness can be improved. Found blood line on the toilet bowl. I checked out on Thursday and then I also booked for the night on next Monday as I needed to go traveling in Amsterdam on the weekend. I asked if I could put my luggage (only one medium size) in the storage till I come back next Monday. They said no."

Staff very friendly and helpful. Room fairly small but comfortably adequate with plenty of power sockets, large flat screen TV, kettle with tea, coffee and milk sachets. Bathroom and shower facilities were good. Leicester Square Underground Station a couple of minutes walk. Will definitely stay here again."

London Travel Guide: Transport, Attractions & Accommodation

London, affectionately known as "The Big Smoke," is a city where history and modernity collide in the most fascinating ways. Sure, it’s renowned for its iconic landmarks like Big Ben and the Shard, but there’s so much more to this vibrant metropolis than meets the eye.

Wander along the South Bank, where the Thames offers stunning views of both historic and contemporary architecture, from the majestic Tower Bridge to the sleek lines of the Tate Modern. Lose yourself in the quaint charm of neighbourhoods like Notting Hill, with its colourful houses and bustling market. Step into the past at the Tower of London, steeped in history and intrigue, or feel the pulse of the city on Oxford Street, alive with shops and street performers.

Most visitors spend about 3–4 days soaking up the sights of London, but if you have a bit more time, consider venturing to nearby gems like Windsor or the Cotswolds. London is a city of contrasts—old and new, fast and slow. So grab your umbrella and come experience the magic of London for yourself!

London Travel Guide

Getting Around London

Are you ready to explore London now? Let's talk about how to get there and get around. Whether you're flying, taking a train, or arriving by bus, getting to London is straightforward.

If you're flying, London has several major airports:

London Heathrow Airport (LHR): As London's largest airport and one of the busiest in the world, Heathrow is located about 23 kilometres west of the city centre. It handles a vast number of international flights.

London Gatwick Airport (LGW): Situated about 45 kilometres south of central London, Gatwick is the second-largest airport, serving both international and domestic flights.

London Stansted Airport (STN): Located approximately 64 kilometres northeast of London, Stansted primarily serves European and Mediterranean destinations.

London Luton Airport (LTN): About 55 kilometres north of the city centre, Luton handles European and some international flights.

London City Airport (LCY): Positioned in East London near the financial district, this airport mainly caters to business travellers and short-haul flights.

Want to start your journey with ease? Why not book a hotel nearby that offers a shuttle service? It’s a real lifesaver, especially when you’re exhausted after a long journey or a late night flight. With the stress taken out of your arrival, you'll have more time and energy to dive into all the fantastic things London has to offer.

Once you're in the city, getting around is a breeze. The Tube is one of the top ways to travel—it's quick, budget-friendly, and takes you just about anywhere you need to go. Taxis and buses are also easy to find, though you might hit a bit of traffic now and then.

The Tube: London's Underground, or "The Tube," is one of the fastest ways to get around. Fares depend on the zones you travel through, with a single journey in central London (Zone 1) costing around £2.80 if you use an Oyster card or contactless payment. It's a quick and iconic way to navigate the city, but it can get crowded during rush hours.

Buses: London's iconic red buses are a great way to get around the city. A single fare is £1.75, and you can hop on and off as many buses as you like within an hour for the same price. Buses offer a more scenic route compared to the Tube, but they can be slower due to traffic.

Taxis: Black cabs are a classic London experience. The starting fare is about £3.80, and they can be hailed on the street or found at taxi ranks. Alternatively, ride-sharing apps like Uber are widely used and can be more budget-friendly.

Cycling: Santander Cycles, also known as "Boris Bikes," are available for hire across the city. It's a fun and active way to explore, especially in good weather.

River Services: Travelling by boat on the Thames offers a unique perspective of the city. It's a bit more leisurely but provides stunning views of landmarks.

Remember to check the Transport for London (TfL) website or app for real-time updates and to plan your journey efficiently.

Best Places to Stay in London

For a more vibrant atmosphere, Soho is the place to be, with its lively nightlife and eclectic mix of shops and restaurants. Just a stone's throw away, Covent Garden is always buzzing with street performers and quirky shops, making it a favourite for visitors.

If you're drawn to the river, the South Bank is packed with cultural attractions like the Tate Modern, and Westminster is home to iconic landmarks such as Big Ben. Each of these areas offers its own unique charm, so choose one that suits your style and dive into your London adventure!

London is a city brimming with history, culture, and iconic landmarks. Whether you're a first-time visitor or a seasoned traveller, there's always something new to discover. Here are some must-see attractions to get you started!

The British Museum: Dive into the world of history at the British Museum, home to a staggering collection of artefacts from around the globe. From the Rosetta Stone to the Egyptian mummies, it's a treasure trove of human history. Best of all, entry is free, though donations are welcome.

Tower Bridge: No trip to London is complete without a visit to Tower Bridge. This iconic symbol of London offers stunning views from its high-level walkways. Don't miss the glass floor, where you can watch the Thames flow beneath your feet. It's a perfect spot for those Instagram-worthy snaps.

GGuest UserThe hotel was centrally located. I enjoyed the leisure facilities. The staff in the bar and restaurant were lovely. However, the room decor was tired and the carpet was smelly. On the morning I was due to leave (check out was 12pm) I was trying to have a lie in and was woken by housekeeping trying to get into my room on 3 separate occasions between 8.30 and 9am. I would have thought that all rooms with guests due to check out would be cleaned after the guest had checked out and not while they were in bed? After all this, the TV came on with the welcome message, of its own accord, just after 9am, lighting up the room. So much for my lie in!!!

I wouldn’t recommend stay here, if you want to have a nice holiday in London. The staff of this hotel will ruin your day. DO NOT STAY HERE!

PPulstarCheck in was super smooth and very friendly. The room itself was small, but big enough our needs for the week. The staff were nice, but not very aware of surrounding issues. My son got locked in the downstairs toilets and was screaming and screaming and not one member of staff moved an inch until my wife went looking for him, only then did the staff on reception move to see what was wrong, unfortunately that left a nasty taste in my mouth as it showed me a clear lack of care towards not only customers but to children. The rooms were clean and tidy, it did take 5 nights for the bedsheets / duvet covers to be changed, they were made daily but not swapped for fresh ones. Towels were plentiful and swapped daily tough. The daily breakfast was nice with a selection of fresh fruits, cereals and croissants, They also had a selection of hot food such as sausage, bacon, mushrooms, scrambled egg and even vegan sausages if you like them. My only complaint was the scrambled egg were not seasoned at all and required quite a lot of extra seasoning. You could also make fresh toast with a selection of different jams and Nutella. And also get fresh coffee, tea or hot chocolate, although each day one of the 2 machines were broken, it seemed to change each day. They also had fresh orange and apple juice, But the machine seemed to be broken quite alot of the time and they provided it in small dispensers, unfortunately these tasted watered down. Overall the room is nice, decent breakfast, pretty good location and the price not that bad but I expected a bit better.

PPatrick_ChanI recently stayed at Four Points by Sheraton London Euston, and overall, it was a great experience! The location is fantastic—just a short walk from Euston Station, making it super convenient for getting around London. Whether you're here for business or sightseeing, it’s a great base. The hotel has a modern and clean design, and the staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful throughout my stay. Check-in was smooth, and I felt well taken care of. The room was well-equipped and comfortable, but on the smaller side. If you're just using it for sleeping, it’s perfect—cozy, with a comfy bed and all the essential amenities. However, if you plan to spend a lot of time in the room, you might find it a bit tight. The WiFi was fast, and the bathroom was well-maintained with good water pressure and toiletries. Breakfast was delicious with a good selection, and the on-site restaurant and bar were nice for unwinding in the evening. Overall, Four Points Euston is a great option for travelers looking for a well-located, clean, and comfortable place to stay in London. If you just need a place to rest after exploring the city, it’s perfect. But if you’re looking for a more spacious room to relax in for extended periods, you may want to consider other options.

GGuest UserLocation is excellent with just a few minutes walk from Gloucester Road station. Yet the hotel is bit old and toilet got some strange smell when we first entered and the toilet door can’t be closed. As I was staying with family, I could bear with it. Nobody answering the calls when I was trying to call operator or housekeeping; always asking to leave message which I don’t like! Yet when I see the housekeeping staff on the corridor, they are very helpful!

TTaufiq.SA hotel with the perfect location to get to anywhere around London. The bus stop and metro (Bayswater & Queensway) is near the hotel. LLozzzzLocation perfect, service good, need to preauthorise a £50 surcharge when you check in incase they need to charge you for damages, but you don’t get that back until up to 14 days after you check out which is annoying - could be handled a different way. Bed is the worst part of the place, it’s as hard as a rock, I wouldn’t come back for that reason. Aside that, value is okay.

BBehekEverything was very good. Breakfast offers a lot of coice - except warm breakfast is only on Weekends. On the Trip site the check in time is incorrect (ov voucher it says after 12, but it is after 14) - despite us coming too early, they gave us the room and made coffee for free. The hotel is locked over night and the staff is really friendly. We were in the hotel trought the hottest days in history but they prepared a ventilator - because they don't have AC (normally).
