Very good, it is a first-class hotel from a global perspective. The overall experience is not in the category of luxury resort, but more like a top business hotel. Adhere to the traditional peninsula layout, which comes from the business travel style of the golden age of 80/90s. Those who like it will like it very much.

The Dilly was probably amazing in the 1980's and 1990's but not much has been updated since then! We stayed in a Dilly Classic room which was perfectly fine, a good size, clean with strong Wifi. The shower was powerful and there was plenty of hot water. I know some people on this site weren't impressed by the breakfast but I thought it was great. Obviously, the location is fabulous. However, I didn't feel the room was up to five-star standard. The coffee was instant and the milk small UHT cartons. There was no fridge or mini-bar (though we were in the 'cheapest' room so may be different elsewhere). The toiletries were cheap and basic (so bring your own), there was no plug by the bed to charge devices overnight and no Blu-tooth speaker which seems to be a given now in higher-end hotels. The style of the room itself was quite dated including the landline next to the toilet which I'm sure was incredibly cool in 1986 :) Overall, if this was a three-or-four-star hotel I'd give it full marks, but as it's a five-star, (and more importantly charging five-star prices), it's lacking in some areas. I believe the hotel is currently 'between owners' which makes sense, as I guess the current owners don't want to invest and are ticking along until the new ones take over. It's not dreadful by any means, but they charge a lot for what you get.

This is the old hotel but renovated. However, everything in the room is quite good especially the flush toilet. The staffs are friendly. But when our room called them to get the daily amenities when we came back to the room, they accepted our requests but did not provide anything. May be because it was in late evening already.

From its location and the comfort of the building's exterior to the staff's service attitude, everything scores top marks! Although the hotel's buffet breakfast doesn't offer a wide variety, the quality is excellent, and it was a very comfortable dining experience, with the waitstaff being very attentive! Additionally, the service received at the hotel's main entrance and the exceptional care taken by the staff in handling our heavy luggage during checkout, ensuring it was transported downstairs to the taxi, was commendable. These experiences definitely make us want to return!

Cleanliness - Overall, it is clean. However, there were strands of hair on the sofa, below the cushion, and under the blanket. Bathroom is huge
Location - It is walking distance from Aldgate East Metro. Not centrally located, area seems to be a business district. There is no lift or escalator in this metro station, so having 2 heavy luggages, is a challenge.
Service - Excellent service and friendly team, though they are unable to hold the luggage overnight as i had to do a separate trip to other cities. They provided me with a fan for ventilation as the room was tucked in a corner, which the aircron vent was in the living room. However, due to the layout of the room, the aircon was not able to 'flow' into the room
Amenities - The kettle was abit rusty, a change was done immediately Room was well equipped, washer cum dryer, fridge, microwave, dishwasher, oven, wifi and tv (which can sync and cast music and shows from the phone).
Summary - Its a well equipped one bed studio, fully equipped. It will be close to perfect if the ventilation was better. The 'old' concrete wall (i believe) was the previous location of the TV, needs works to make good as it is unsightly and/or perhaps it can be knocked down? It will be good if there is working table and chair instead of using the dining table and chair to work on.
overall, i enjoyed my stay !

Let start with some positives:- Great location, very close to tube station, supermarkets, cafes, restaurants, and within walking distance of many tourist attractions. The area is very safe with both foot and vehicle traffic, travelling as a solo female I never felt unsafe at any time of the day or early evening. The room was well appointed with all you needed in a well set up mini kitchen for cooking some meals, although there was occasionally a cooking smell in the hallways when other guests were cooking something very strong. The main areas, including a fantastic (app. required) laundry were always clean and tidy. There is a seating area adjacent to reception where you can make yourself a drink and relax. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom mid grade with hot water (more about that later) Now to the negatives:- There were two issues whilst I was staying here, one was no hot water for one weekend and no wifi for another weekend. Whilst these issues do occur I'm sure at other hotels from time to time the communication was poor around these issues, with staff not able to answer when these issues would be resolved. After quite a few to and fro's the reception staff finally found another hotel for me for one night so at least I could have a shower. Before I checked out I took the oppurtunity to sit down with Marco, the front officer manager to provide him with my constructive feedback about my stay and the issues including communication. Marco thanked me for taking the time to speak to him, and hopefully my feedback will assist management in future if issues like this arise again. Although these issues did arise and detracted from my overall happiness with the stay I would be happy to stay here again in future as long as issues identified are dealt with promptly and communication has improved.

Outstanding
GGuest UserI stay around the Excel several times a year for events with friends or alone. I've stayed at other hotels nearby like the Crowne Plaza, Novotel, Ibis etc. but this was my first time staying at Aloft. The room is adequately sized and was quite clean. The bed linen was clean, and the carpets seemed clean as well. There were a couple of small issues with cleanliness but nothing overly off-putting. The shower needs to be re-grouted and walls need to be repainted/new wallpaper applied in some areas that had a lot of marks. The layout of the room is a little weird. The wardrobe and tea and coffee tray are at the side where the bathroom is. There's no mirror in the bedroom area, so if you want to do your hair you have to plug into the section where the kettle tray is placed and stretch the wire across. It's not a big deal, but a little inconvenient. The fixtures in the room were decent and the bed was comfy. The location is next to Prince Regent DLR, so easy to get to and from the train. The room would benefit from some sort of information booklet about the facilities at the hotel. There wasn't any information given about what was available at the hotel or any opening times of the facilities, where they were located or what you needed to do to access them. It's a hassle for guests to have to ask the front desk about this, so the information should be readily available in the room. When I checked in there was a leak in the room that I was given. I'd just come from a 15 hour journey and wanted to take a shower and relax, so this was not ideal. I told reception and they said they would send someone to take a look to see if it could be fixed. I didn't exactly see why I should sit and wait because there was a leak in the room and believe that they should have moved me immediately. They sent someone up and they took a quick look and determined it would take too long to fix and would move me to a different room. I was moved to the room next door and for the following 45 minutes all I could hear was the door slamming in the other room, I assume from them coming in and out to try and fix the issue there. It took around 30 minutes of me being in this room for me to be moved, which was really not ideal. I was offered a short apology, but no compensation for the inconvenience. The main issue I had with this hotel was the noise from other rooms and guests. On the same night that I checked in, the guests in the room next to me appeared to be having some sort of party until after 5am. They were playing music, shouting, banging things on the wall and constantly walking in and out of the room causing the door to slam loudly each time. I understand this is not particularly the fault of the hotel, at this point I was too exhausted from my trip to reach out to the hotel with another complaint. I was happy that on the 2nd night, these guests must have checked out. However, the noise from other guests was still a bit of an issue, although no one was particularly try
GGuest UserThis was my second stay at the Club Quarters St Pauls. The hotel is incredibly located in the central City of London just adjacent to St Paul’s Cathedral. The hop on hop off tourist bus stops right outside the main door. Other bus stops taking you to Waterloo or Trafalgar Square or Liverpool Street are within a block or two and the City Thameslink station connecting to Gatwick is only two blocks away. Right next door is an M&S grocery store. Loads of restaurants from chains like Pizza Express or Rouge to higher end Ivy Asia, Burgers and Lobsters to cute pubs are all within a couple of blocks as is the St Paul’s tube station. Location, location, location. I stayed with my young daughter in an executive one bedroom suite on the top floor facing the back courtyard with a lovely view id the spirw of St Martins Ludgate. Nice, clean, quiet, spacious with good AC, two TVs and a kitchenettte with fridge, microwave and basic cutlery. We bought snacks, breakfast items and takeaway from M&S next door and so could eat some meals in. While the hotel is geared towards business travelers, I found it very convenient for a stay with a child. There are filtered water stations on every floor, tea , coffee and milk supplies in the room as well as 24/7 in the pleasant lobby. I love staying in this part of town as it is less frenetic than the West End but so close by. In the evenings when the city workers depart and the weekends, it is quite uncrowded yet still many places are open. Millenium Bridge is a stone’s throw away and we were able to take a pleasant stroll over to the Tate Modern on the other side of the riverbank. Lobby staff were pleasant and efficient. Hotel has a luggage storage service which was incredibly helpful as we traveled to the suburbs at the weekend to visit friends and would not have been able to manage all our international luggage. My only critique really is that the room did not have a safe. The hotel restaurant Cote is quite good.
KKylinchaiIt's still very good. The water pressure is quite strong and the water is very hot. Slippers are also provided, which I really didn't expect 😂. A lot of coffee and tea are added every day, and new sheets, bath towels and toiletries are replaced. The service staff at the front desk and lobby are also very friendly. The location is also very good. There is no problem except that it is expensive.
WwooicecreamIt feels magnificent and the decoration design is quite luxurious, but the room is not very big, but it should be considered good for London. There is no toothbrush or toothpaste in the room. The location is also very convenient. There is a coffee shop opposite, 100 meters walk from the subway entrance, and a bus stop within 50 meters. There are coffee shops and small supermarkets on the road, as well as pharmacies.
AAnonymous UserStayed many times in this Hotel around 4 years ago due to high standards of staff and service. Unfortunately although the staff are still very professional and also friendly, the room standards have certainly dropped. You now have an empty space where the fridge used to be, sticks are provided instead of tea spoons for tea/coffee. Tissues run out after three uses, cupboard doors not aligned correctly so had to force shut. Under bed found sweet, dust and paper. Had to clean mirror, as it obviously had been wiped over with a dirty cloth and left to dry. Prices substantially increased since pandemic I believe.
Not what it was, hopefully just a blip and situation will improve as all other facilities including restaurant and location are excellent.
EEvansWe had great service. Able to check in early as a room was available. All the receptionists were efficient and pleasant. We had a lunch and again staff were great. It was my wife’s birthday and they produced complimentary bubbles. Armi in particular has alway been excellent, chatty, interested in what we are up to, booking seabird. We went to seabird for oysters and martini. The oysters were great in fact they were from our home area. We have been to the Hoxton in Holborn, but have been to Southwark several times and always well look after. We have had a few surprise birthdays. More to come!
GGuest UserStayed here for a night in October 2022. Room was very tastefully decorated and clean. I found nice touches, such as a handwritten note to welcome me, some chocolates and gummy bears. Very comfy bed and loved the fact there were both curtains and blinds so I had a great night sleep and didn't want to get up in the morning. Lobby is great but a bit lively in the evening - I loved the vibe but I'd find it challenging to work late in such an environment, although there were plenty of people who were still doing it and didn't seem to mind. Area is great, if you want to check out local bars, street art, good restaurants. I had dinner at the rooftop Mexican restaurant at The Hox called Maya. Just a stunning place with amazing views. Food was delicious and loved the cocktails. Especially recommend the Aztec one with jalapeno. Thanks to the Hoxton team for my lovely experience.
GGuest UserVery nice hotel and amazing location. Nice shops and tesco market near the hotel, about a 3 minutes walk. The nearest underground stations are monument and bank. The employees are very cooperative and helpful. There is complementary coffee and water in the lobby which is wonderful and a time saver. Room and bathroom are clean, bed is comfy. As for the facilities, unfortunately there wasn’t a safe box in the room but you can get a safe box in the lobby which both you and the staff have keys to, both keys have to be present to open the safe box. And one of the rooms that we booked didn’t have a fridge which we didn’t mind at all. In regards to the quietness, we can slightly hear the doors opening from the rooms near us. Over all I would rate the hotel 9/10. Thanks to ismail and parshant .
GGuest UserWe spent a nice few days in the Kensington area of London in May 2022. The room was comfortable and clean. The buffet breakfast was very nice albeit a bit crowded at times. We got home and realized that I left my drone with case and extra batteries. I called the hotel from the US and spoke withTheo, he confirmed they had found it in the room... yeah! Housekeeping turned it in. Thank you very much Paraschiva! I appreciate your help in finding the item! Now, how to get the drone home... Theo suggested finding a courier service to pick-up, package and ship the drone to the US. I do some homework and learn it would cost around $200, the drone was less than $400. I asked Theo if they could hold it 'till our return in September and he agreed. We return and I call Theo and he asks me to send him a label and he will take care of it, he does! Wow, who could ask for better customer service? We were not staying there and they took care of this, they didn't have to go out other way! Thank you Paraschiva and Theo. I hope we can meet next time we are in London so I can thank you personally!

GGuest UserI stayed here with my partner when visiting London and for one night it was ‘fine’ for what we needed, but we wouldn’t want to stay here for any long period of time. GOOD POINTS: The check in process was reliable with good communication from the hotel/booking website prior to our arrival. The location is ideal, right next to a tube station with local amenities nearby. Our en suite room was very spacious and the bed was very comfortable. We both slept soundly all night. Room facilities were really good. Plenty of bath towels. A small clothes rack. Kettle with good selection of tea/coffee, biscuits, and a hairdryer. BAD POINTS: The room is in need of some attention. The skirting boards desperately need re-painting. The carpet could do with a deep clean. The bathroom door was damaged. Mould present on the bathroom ceiling. The TV did not work correctly, only one channel had any signal. There didn’t appear to be any staff on site during the night. Not necessary a ‘bad point’ but something to bear in mind (though I admit this may be present in the small print when booking, I could have missed this). There was only one entrance and exit to the building. I dread to think what would happen if a fire broke out near the main door. Price is expensive and the quality does not reflect this unfortunately.
