"Stayed at Myeongdong Merlin Hotel for a short transit and overall it was a good experience. The location is convenient about 15–20 minutes to Myeongdong Night Street, which is great if you want easy access to shopping and food. We arrived quite late (around 10pm) after traveling from Busan and checked out early at 5am to head to ICN airport. Even with the short stay, everything went smoothly. Check-in was quick and hassle-free, which we really appreciated after a long journey. We were traveling in a big group (18 people), and the hotel managed us well. Rooms were clean and facilities were sufficient for a short stay. Service was also efficient. Overall, a solid and convenient choice especially for short stays or transit in Seoul 👍"

Amazing
WWXFOXI was very satisfied with my stay this time. The hotel's overall environment is clean and tidy, with a simple yet elegant decor. The common areas are well-maintained. The room was spacious with excellent natural light and ventilation. The bedding was soft and comfortable, toiletries were comprehensive, and the bathroom was clean with no strange odors. The soundproofing was also good, allowing for a very peaceful night's rest. The front desk staff were warm and courteous, handling check-in and check-out quickly. Their service was professional and thoughtful. The location is convenient for getting around, with complete amenities nearby, making dining and shopping very easy. It offers great value for money and exceeded my expectations. It was a very pleasant stay, and I highly recommend it to everyone. I will definitely prioritize choosing this hotel again for my next trip.

MMengtebeiluo-weiqindinuochuzhuangwangThe room was a bit small, even though I booked a business room. The service attitude was incredibly perfunctory – polite on the surface, but they clearly didn't care about the guests at all. We arrived at the hotel at 6 PM, and they still insisted on an 11 AM checkout. When I asked for an extra half-hour, the front desk staff looked at me as if I owed them money. In the end, they just wrote '11:30' on a paper without saying a single word. Seriously, don't you have a mouth? Couldn't you even say something? Their impatient demeanor was truly terrible. This is by far the worst service I've ever experienced in a five-star hotel, and I've stayed in many across different countries. I will definitely not be staying here again. Absolutely dreadful.

99-tenFacilities: Very new and exceptionally clean. Hygiene: Excellent. Environment: The location is incredibly convenient. It's very close to the subway station and within walking distance to Myeongdong. Getting to Hongdae and Gyeongbokgung is also a breeze. We had a fantastic five days in Seoul, and this hotel played a huge part in making our trip enjoyable! Service: Both the front desk staff and the housekeeping team were very friendly and helpful. There's a GS convenience store right downstairs, which is super handy for buying T-money cards and other small essentials.

GGuest UserFacilities: The door lock was old, and it took some effort to open the security chain every time. The bidet was in Korean, so I had to use a translation app to figure it out. Cleanliness: The hygiene was just average. There were hairs on the towels and bugs on the bed. Environment: We could see Namsan Tower from the window, which was a nice view. The location was relatively convenient. It was close to Shinsegae Duty Free, but it still took about ten minutes to walk to Myeongdong. Service: The service really depended on the individual. We arrived around 2 PM, and the staff member who took our luggage was very friendly. We asked if we could check in early, and they checked the room availability for us. However, when we asked the front desk, we were directly refused and told we had to wait until after 3 PM to check in. Most of the hotel receptionists were quite surly and impatient. There was one who spoke Chinese – I'm not sure if they were Chinese – and their attitude was better.

PPagmadulam LkhagvasurenI previously left a positive review, but I realized I did not include my friends’ feedback. During our 4-night stay, the towels were never replaced. We also tried contacting the hotel assistant through Trip, but we could not get any response. Since there was no reception desk available, there was no way for us to share our concerns during the stay. For future bookings, I hope the hotel can provide accurate housekeeping information on the booking platform. The listing mentioned that daily housekeeping was included, but this was not actually provided.

KK_W-The room is quite spacious, perfect for families with kids. The hotel's location is super convenient; there's a 7-Eleven right outside, an airport express station, and a delicious BBQ place and Olive Young just across the street. The subway station is only a short walk away, and it's just one stop to Myeongdong. Absolutely loved it!

GGuest UserOverall, I had a very satisfying stay. The room was clean and comfortable, and the view overlooking Namsan and downtown Seoul was truly impressive. The night skyline, in particular, was one of the highlights of this hotel. What made this stay even more special was the service provided by Manager Minji Cho. Her thoughtful, professional, and genuinely attentive care made the entire experience feel very comfortable and welcoming. Her sincere approach left a lasting impression. Everything from the facilities to the service was excellent, and this is definitely a hotel I would be happy to return to on my next visit to Seoul. I would like to sincerely thank Manager Minji Cho for the outstanding service.

GGuest UserThe hotel is conveniently located near Exit 15 of Jongno 3-ga Station, and the bus from Incheon Airport also stops nearby. It's tucked away at the end of a narrow alley, so it might be a bit tricky to find and seems a little uninviting at first, but it's perfectly safe to enter. It's super convenient for going out for meals or to a sauna at night, exploring Ikseon-dong, or taking a quick train ride to Myeongdong. The reception staff are friendly, and the interior is stylish and functional – perfect for a tourist stay. I'd definitely like to stay here again if I have the chance.

KKooJianWeiRestaurants/Cafes/Convenience Stores are all just within 5min walk away, very easy to get meals and coffee/tea/drinks. Rooms are smaller as compared to others but I had a cozy deep night sleep. I didn't like the toilet and shower area as the whole toilet floor is always wet after a bath. Because the shower glass door has missing rubber stoppers, water flows out despite the glass door being closed during shower. Room 1015 and 1016.

AAnonymous UserThe location is very nice. You can easily walk to Myeongdong, Namsan Tower, and many restaurants, and transportation is convenient. The staff were very kind and helpful. However, it’s difficult for me to say this was a good stay overall. Here are the reasons why: • Elevator – The elevator is only for luggage, not for guests. This should be clearly stated before booking. As in here it’s show as the property has an elevator without explaining that it is a cargo elevator, it is misleading. • Security – The room password was simply the room number with an additional “1” added to it. I didn’t leave valuables in the room, so I wasn’t too worried, but it still felt like a weak security system. • Room Door – There is no additional lock on the inside of the room. While the digital lock can be activated, I never felt completely confident that the door was fully secured. • Soft Opening Without Notice – When I booked, there was no mention that the property was still in a soft-opening stage. I expected the hotel to be fully operational. Instead, there were unfinished areas, items left around the property, and staff frequently entering rooms after check-in to inspect or photograph things without being asked. Had I known the hotel was not fully ready, I would have considered other options before booking. • Poor Room Layout – My room was 405, located at the end of the hallway. The neighboring room (404) had a door positioned in a way that it would hit my door whenever opened carelessly. During my four-night stay, the guests next door banged their door into mine repeatedly. Eventually, at around 1 a.m. one night, I had to contact the staff and ask them to address the issue. • Cleanliness Concerns – The property appears to use the same type of towel for everything. When I asked about a bathroom mat, I was told to use a towel instead. This gave me the impression that the towels were being used for multiple purposes, including drying floors. On top of that, the towels shed lint and left fibers on my skin after use. • Very Small Bathroom – Please be aware that the bathroom is extremely small. The shower is positioned directly over the toilet, and there is barely enough room to stand while showering. In practice, you almost need to sit on the toilet to shower comfortably. After two nights, I seriously considered moving to another hotel. The only reason I stayed was because my mother didn’t want to move all of our belongings again. To be fair, one of the staff members (possibly the owner) sincerely apologized and explained that they were trying their best. I do believe they genuinely care and are making an effort. However, there is still a long way to go before this property is ready to provide a comfortable hotel experience.
