"The location is great, and the surrounding area is pretty good too! The only slight inconvenience is that the front desk isn't on the first floor, but on the third. However, the large coffee shop on the first floor is super convenient for coffee *******, and it's a branded chain that accepts Alipay, so no cash needed – very handy (it's great that Alipay is accepted in most parts of Seoul, though it gets a bit less convenient outside the city). The Korean restaurant on the second floor is also excellent. Right next to the hotel is an Olive Young, so you can shop without having to drag your purchases too far – a big plus! The airport bus stop for transfers to the airport is also just a short walk from the entrance, making airport access really easy. The room has everything you need. For this location, it's perfect!"

"Overall, a pleasant stay. The room was small but very clean, with a lovely view from the upper floor. Daily housekeeping and friendly staff made the experience comfortable. Early check-in wasn’t possible, but luggage storage at reception was convenient. The location is excellent — close to major attractions, cafés, shops, and public transport. Easy access from the airport: a direct bus 6011 to the Changgyeonggung Palace (about an hour), then just a 10-minute walk. Minor downsides: limited hangers and storage space, and the complimentary water bottles weren’t replenished every day. Soundproofing could be better, but I was lucky to have quiet neighbors. Overall, a great option for a short stay."

"My second stay. I was assigned a room on the 4th floor, which also houses the restaurant, so I was initially worried about potential noise. However, they've thoughtfully separated the laundry and cooking facilities. Furthermore, the diners were very considerate and quiet, so I ended up sleeping wonderfully. The location, cleanliness, and service were all impeccable. I'll definitely choose this place again for any future stays! 😍"

The accommodation was cozy and clean, so it was a great place to rest. I want to visit again next time~!"

"Honestly, I really love staying at this hotel, and I try to book it every time I visit Korea. People have heard enough about the pros, so this time I'll just focus on the cons: 1. The room only provides two bottles of water, and there's no public water dispenser. If you're comfortable with the language, you can call the front desk for free refills. However, if there's a language barrier, your only option is to fill and boil water from the bathroom tap. 2. There's a shuttle bus advertisement (provided by the district office) posted on the ground floor, but the front desk doesn't proactively promote it. Remember to take a good look and snap a photo for your reference. 3. I'll write about the next point in my following review."

ROYAL HOTEL SEOUL Myeongdong
"Let's start with the positives, which are truly hard to ignore – the location is absolutely fantastic. It's right at the end of Myeongdong's main street, so stepping out means diving straight into the shopping crowds. To the right, you'll find the Olive Young Myeongdong flagship store, and across the street, there's Starbucks, Sushiro, and a CU convenience store. You'll never have to worry about finding late-night snacks or drinks. The hotel's public areas are also quite aesthetically pleasing. Transportation is also hassle-free. From the airport, you can take the 6015 luxury airport limousine bus directly to "Seoul Royal Hotel/Euljiro 1-ga Station." The stop is very close to the hotel. Just walk a few steps with your luggage, turn right at the small intersection, and walk up a slight incline for about a dozen meters, and you're there. However, a word of caution: during the peak summer season, there are a lot of people waiting for the bus. On our day, we queued outdoors for over an hour, hot and sunny, sweating non-stop. If you're traveling with elderly people or children, be prepared for this. Now, about the actual stay. The room was indeed on the smaller side, and with the summer peak season prices, the value for money wasn't great. The facilities show their age. What impacted our sleep the most was the refrigerator, which had noticeable noise. We ended up unplugging it both nights to get some peace and quiet. Also, on weekend evenings, the street music played until midnight. If you have high demands for your sleeping environment, I'd advise considering this carefully. In summary: if you're prioritizing convenient shopping and don't mind a small or dated room, spending most of your day out and just returning to sleep at night, then this place is a great fit. But if room comfort, a quiet environment, and value for money are more important to you, then you might want to compare a few more options. This is just my personal experience for your reference."

"Big warning! There were two huge, brightly lit 'EXIT' signs in the room that couldn't be turned off, which severely disrupted my sleep. The hotel didn't inform me about this beforehand. When I asked, they said no other rooms were available. They also didn't respond when I asked for an eye mask. On top of that, the bathroom smelled really bad. I definitely won't be staying here again."
