The Flat NYC

Staff were very kind and helpful, and the hotel was relatively quiet. They are very upfront about the stairs and shared bathrooms, so as long as you are okay with that it is a great pick for a place to stay in a cool and quiet neighborhood!

It was such a great location. Walk up 6th street, and you're in Central Park, walk down it, and you're in Greenwich Village. Subway next street, places to eat everywhere (try Maman's for breakfast - amazing!) and really helpful, lovely people on reception. Definitely returning.

First let me start off by saying I understand what they were going for with this design (European). There was nothing wrong with the staff as well. However, I really feel that based on the accommodations provided, there should have been much more clarity on the layout of these rooms. I have never in any hotel I have stayed have heard of a “Shared Bathroom” and was under the impression that was just a semantic description. To find when I got there that it was like having roommates in college and that this was a common area was absolutely baffling to me. The aspect of this ruined the hotel for me and having the privacy of being able to have your restroom in your room is nonsensical; not even being able to take a shower at your own convenience and having to wait for others is beyond reproach. Not to mention, talk about unsanitary. I would be willing to be another $50 to have my own restroom— still can’t believe it. Not sure where all the “Excellent” ratings come from. No accessibility for disabled people either. There are comparable hotel prices nearby that don’t have this bizarre layout.

There was a draft in the room from the window , we put 2 pillowsto cover it but nevertheless even that did not help and it was still cold. The heather was on all night yet it didnt feel that it worked.

The Flat was a great hotel to stay at. Ideally better suited for the 'younger' demographic due to its neighbouring bar - it can get a little loud in the evenings, but all noise stops at 11PM. The staff is incredible and always available. I highly recommend staying at this hotel if you're looking for an affordable alternative and don't necessarily want to break the bank. The accommodations and services are great and the location is clean. In terms of walk score, this is ideal for anyone looking to explore New York City. Highly recommend!

The place is located just around the corner from flat iron building and accessible to subway stations. However, the room does not have a window, so i was unable to get any fresh air in the room. The bathroom was inside the room for my reservation, so that was convenient. For the most part, it was a quiet stay. It was a bit loud when people would slam their doors. Loved the amenities downstairs. The staffs are not always where they are supposed to be, so it would have been nice to know the contact phone number.

I am happy with my choice. The accomodations were basic, as expected. The rooms and bathrooms were clean. No excessive noise. Would definitely stay again.

Great hotel for travelers staying for one or two nights and would only be there to sleep. Stayed two nights, The room was very hot the first night, couldn't figure out how to cool, but the cheerful staff fixed it promptly in the morning when mentioned. The bunk bed was sturdy, but had the usual creeks and groans climbing in and out. Bathroom was fine - shower was large. There is a small 'speakeasy' bar next door, and I could occasionally hear a little noise from there (due to location of my room), but not enough to complain (very niche place, and if you like cocktails/mixed drinks, well recommended).

Our brief stay at The Flay was perfect for what we needed. Nice, economical room with a clean aesthetic andcomfortable bed. Friendly staff. Convenient access to train station and multiple subway lines. Definitely recommend.
