Hotels near Bagnall and Kirkwood in Newcastle

Great location close to train station. Very clean modern hotel at a good price. Nice pretty chicks at the reception. Very comfortable bed and a great bathroom. Many attractions near the hotel. Snacks and drinks are available from the vending machine. There are code keys everywhere, which means that outsiders have limited opportunities to roam around the hotel. The only downside turned out to be that a room with a window means a room with a window to other windows from which other residents were staring.

Had a lovely stay but felt let down by several issues. Check in was nice & smooth with friendly staff. We had upgraded our room to a superior & it was lovely & clean but had very little storage, especially the bathroom. This wouldn’t have been a problem for 1 night but we stayed 4. The views from the floor to ceiling window were superb. Room servicing appears to have been stopped throughout the country now since covid & if that is to continue then I would suggest larger bins are provided. Surely over a 4 night stay it is not unreasonable to have the room serviced at least once. Our “king size” bed was in fact 2 singles pushed together with the ever present gap in the middle. The toilet paper was cheap & nasty & out of keeping with the rest of the hotel. Breakfast was buffet style, adequate & reasonable. The drinks menu said there was a “guest ale” & to enquire at the bar to see what is was & the price. When I asked what the “guest ale” was I was told it was CIDER. Location is no more than a 5 minutes walk from the railway station. Overall we had a vey enjoyable stay & would definitely stop again.

We stayed in Kabannas Hostel earlier this week after ending up in Newcastle as part of an organised charity event. When we explained why we were there, Mark gave us exceptional service. He was very friendly and interested in what we were doing and how he could help, also managed to offer us a charity discount. The rooms were clean with comfy beds and we ate pizza from the bar which was delicious. Location was great, about a 10 min walk from the station and not far from some bars. The hostel was quiet with not many people in the bar but we did visit on a Monday. Overall we were impressed with the service, food, standard of the room and value for money! Would defo recommend.

I've stayed in three M1s, and this is my favourite. It's hard to remember that it's budget hotel, given that it's stylish and modern and that everything is in quietly working order. The location is great, easy walking distance from the train station as well as the river and the quayside attractions as well as all the shopping of the city centre. The breakfast is good; if I could give one suggestion, it would be that after you've stayed two mornings in a row, you're getting tired of the offerings...rotating something in and out each day would help with this.

Situated adjacent to Newcastle Central Station is this rather magnificent old hotel. Although the decor is dated and old , it has some beautiful architectural qualities to the building. 2 magnificent glass chandeliers suspended from the upper floor all the way down the incredible staircases. My room was old , but very comfortable and very clean, although a little warm. I slept with the window open which was fine. Breakfast in the morning was a mix of cereal, buffet fried English and bread/croissants. It was absolutely delicious and the staff serving tea/coffee very attentive. The breakfast room/bar area is very pleasant. I did nit pay much for my room/ breakfast so my expectations were modest at best, but were exceeded in every way. Well done to all the staff! Location is also brilliant for a night out on the toon!

We would not hesitate to recommend this City Centre hotel. The rooms are not the biggest but more than enough space. The staff here are amazing. They are a credit to the chain. They deal with any problems quickly and most professionally. Thanks to them we had the most enjoyable stay…..thank you

Dear All, Grey's st Hotel a Grade 11 listed building Slap bang in the center of the City where I cut my teeth in Life, It had been over 25 years since I was in that part of Me Toon, All the Family had come together for My Loves 60th Birthday, From Australia to Shropshire We gathered and Met up at this Jewel of a find, Our stay was for 3 neets (Nights for the non Geordie's) And From the off were not disappointed The rooms were spacious,clean and tidy, The Hotel itself with a lot of original features still there, history literally on the walls, Inside and oot (out) Although My City has changed a huge amount even in My Lifetime, What will never Change are its People Which is where the Hotels staff get a mention, Young Amy & Liam, On Front of House were exemplary, Professional, Polite, beyond helpful but they key was ”tha banta” two young ones with big smiles and even bigger kind hearts, For going the extra mile setting up Wor Lasses(The Mrs) Birthday cake surprise, I can't tank You enough, Us Geordie's are a Proud, hard working lot, We know how to graft and we certainly know how to let our hair doon (down), My city's History goes way back beyond The Roman Empire, Sat on the banks of the Tyne and to this Day is a Jewel that shines bright, Al (All)) the Staff at Grey's st thank You for helping to have made this trip a memory that No One in my Family will ever Forget. 🖤🤍XXX Ps To our Friend across the Pond Gumdrop216, Comparing My City to a srip in the Dessert that's only 80 years old😂, You should try reading a little before making comments that are uneducated, But funny like Where would the World be without a bit of Banta. Located just across the road from Newcastle train station and within walking distance of almost every major destination of interest, this hotel was perfectly placed for a short visit. Breakfast buffet was good and included a machine for making waffles. The room was big and modern. Very nice stay here

I stayed 4 nights as part of a National Coach Holiday trip, with Bed Breakfast and Evening meal included in the package. The location of the hotel and the communal areas cannot be faulted, and all areas were very clean. The staff were helpful and friendly. The big disappointment was being told that we could not get our evening meal until 7.30pm. We had to pre book from a 3 course menu on arrival and subsequently each evening. 7.30 pm was late for a lot of us, being of a mature age! Also service was badly planned as the waiting staff came out and went round the room asking who was having which dish. This not only took a lot of time and also some people forgot what they had pre -ordered. With 3 courses to serve we did not finish until 9pm. This is not the waiting staff's fault, but bad management practice. However on the fourth night, all was chaos. two more coach parties had been booked in and there was mayhem, and a near riot in the dining room with about 160 people trying to get seated. it was after 8pm before service started, again not the fault of the staff. A lady on our table did not get her starter at all. I think she was quite relieved as Bruschetta does not consist of a lump of soggy brown bread, a roughly chopped tomato, some thick slices of onion, and the half dead and wilted salad greens which were served with most meals. No apology from the management. Breakfast was excellent. The rooms were a good size and were clean, but the bathroom was shabby, chipped bath and basin and a toilet seat that was not very secure. The beverage station did not get replenished until Thursday, and the dirty mugs did not get replaced throughout our stay. The. basin tap broke on Thursday morning, which I reported, but it did not get fixed. Can't fault the staff, but working practice and management leave a lot to be desired. Thank goodness for my fellow travellers, whose friendship and brilliant sense of humour made it all worthwhile. Also thanks to National Coach Holidays and our driver.

The room is good, but not big, the location is good, the breakfast is good
