Fantastic hosts, clean room, great food we had dinner and breakfast. The swimming pool was lovely All in all, it's a fantastic place to have a break and not far from beaches in North Norfolk. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would love to stay again when we are next in the area

This is the third time we have come to Felbrigg Lodge Hotel, and would love to keep coming back as it is just SO wonderful. Our room (Bramble) is large, clean, thoughtfully furnished and comfortable, with a beautiful bathroom. The staff all walk the extra mile to be helpful and make our stay perfect, particularly Billie. It is an added bonus (and luxurious) to be able to book the pool and jacuzzi for an hour's exclusive use per day of our stay. Last, but certainly not least, the food is amazingly good. We don't eat meat, but there is plenty of choice on the menu. We must mention Ginny, whose culinary expertise surpasses all expectation and is consistently excellent. Thank you for all the hard work that goes into providing such a faultless experience.

Was a little disappointed with the place, was expecting a little more wow for the price, we came for my mums 60th and stayed in bracken and hedgehog cottage, we had a lovely stay, the staff was super friendly nothing was too much, but unfortunately the cottages wasn’t the cleanliness, just need a lot of TLC, especially for the money we payed £900 for 2 nights in hedgehog cottage you expect A-bit more up market. I just wanted to give a honest review. The breakfast was lovely, really enjoyed that, the main dinner wasn’t much to choose from but again was nice, I had duck and husband had lamb. The swimming pool was nice but in need of a face lift. We had a lovely stay, but unfortunately i wouldn’t return.

Another short break of 5 nights staying here. Very comfortable cottage( Briar) which had just had a pleasant face lift. Lovely new sofa & armchair ,new headboards on the beds, making the room much lighter. Huge shower, loads of hot water. Plenty of warmth from radiators and or an imitation electric log burner fire in the huge fire place. We stayed bed, breakfast & evening meal. The food is all local as much as is possible. Large choice of breakfasts and 3 course evening meal. You pre book meal choice in the morning so that everything can be purchased fresh. Choice of 3 starters,3 main meals & 3 desserts plus Amuse Bouche of sorbet which were absolutely gorgeous flavours, beautifully sharp, plus petit fours to start with and a basket of fresh breads. ( We ate way too much😄) The staff are friendly and very helpful. We have never experienced any problem with the pool or sauna, which can be booked for 1 hour which is just for you! Despite another comment on here I would highly recommend Felbrigg Lodge as a,maybe quirky, place to stay. There are only 7 rooms, all different styles from very modern to classic comfort. All clearly explained on the web site.

We were here for a Christmas break and had two rooms (Walnut - a suite and Sycamore) both were reasonably large. Our room Walnut had a good size sitting room with a table and chairs comfortable settee with a good size tv with sky. A separate bedroom with a small TV and sky. Bathroom with large bath and shower. Sycamore is a single room but also with large TV and sky. Food is traditional with generous portions. The service is friendly and efficient.

Relaxing weekend away, loved the location and walks around. Clean and cosy cottage and lovely food. Enjoyed the facilities provided. I have been there before and will definitely come back. The staff was welcoming and friendly. Overall a lovely spot!

Well perhaps we should have known. All the 5 star reviews, and then any bad reviews get belligerently argued back by the owner! Its such a shame, as it could be good, but this is a tired, somewhat dilapidated hotel, with an owner stuck in 1992. The rooms are average. They are not particularly clean - there were dust and cobwebs behind our bed (as other reviewers have pointed out). The decor felt dated. Strange things like the fact that in order to have the reading lights on over the bed you had to click the switch by the door, and that whilst 1 wall light had a nice warm bulb in it, the other 3 had awful harsh bright white, which made the dated back and white decor even more stark. Then there's the fact that our room and 2 others had full glass windows at the front and looked out over the small carpark just yards away, so in November when we went, either you had to draw the curtains at 3 pm as it got dark, or else you were on full and permanent display. Then there was the smell. DRAINS! They obviously had a problem. Our room smelt every time we went back to it. The first time we mentioned it someone gave us some room spray and flushed the toilet a couple of times. The next day it was worse, and the owner did something with the 'system' having wandered around our room a couple of times. The 'spa' stank too, but what was worse was that it was generally filthy. The pool was cold - absolutely not the stated temperature. The sauna is a tiny wooden telephone box situation right by the door to the outside in the pool area. You literally sit in this fetid little box looking at a filthy rug where people walk in from the outside. Its disgusting. We spent 10 minutes in the pool area and went back to our room. The bedrooms are right on trend compared with the dining area. Its a totally atmosphere zone, with green wiped own chairs and plasticky tables, faux brick wallpaper and piped music playing my Dad car music from the 1970s and 1980s. The 'amuse bouche' and between course 'palate cleansing' sorbet were pathetic attempts at being sophisticated because they were so poorly done. And anyway for the price choices such as 'winter vegetable soup' and 'chicken fricassee' again took me back to 1990s again. Oh and you can't get a decent coffee either as they got rid of the cappuccino machine a few years ago. Oh and you have to book everything in advance and turn up bang on time otherwise you're in trouble - for meals and for the endless regulations about using the pool - which was, as I say, dirty and empty. What was so miserable about all this was that in the background we knew there was a miserable owner and his many many rules and regulations. There was a little hut - the reception area' that was plastered with rules as well as passive aggressive signs about how the customer was always right until they left and complained - well here I am! Or about how their 'children's policy' - 'we realise the little ones have their sell by date ... if your child become

Arrived an hour later than planned just before 10pm due to traffic delays. By the way its quite poorly signed in the dark. Was met with a message to call a number, called over 6 times in 25 mins with no response. I just managed to get a signal to call phone reception poor. I was now thinking of going to another hotel, but not easy to find at this time of the night. My wife decided to try the door, luckily it was open! Philip eventually turned up checking if everything was ok and demanded I fill in the breakfast form now before I do anything else. Not a great start. Upon entering the room, although well laid out , the carpet is filthy and is in need of replacement or cleaning. The decor and furniture is tired and the mattress, well , it's so soft and worn we both rolled into the middle.! Not a good night's sleep. The tap in the bathroom was loose. Hot tub was nice but you have to enter this from going out the front door, not very private. The table and chairs hadn't been cleaned for a long time and had bird poo on them, so couldn't sit out on them. WiFi is poor and indeed only available in the room and not the dining area. You won't be able to catch up on any hybrid working here. Breakfast was nice and got everything ordered. The evening meal however is not worth the money and portions are small. Waitress not welcoming probably because we were a couple of minutes late of the 7pm deadline! The dining room has no atmosphere and we felt uncomfortable having personal conversations as others would hear. Upon checkout, this wasn't smooth, nobody in reception so had to get staff from the kitchen, who then had to get further assistance to complete transaction. Nearly charged me twice.Again very abrupt in their attitude. I'm sorry to say I had parted with £450 Inc 1 meal and feel it is not worth this amount. Struggle to say its worth £100 per night. We stay in many different hotels in the UK and Ireland, these can be 5 star for alot less than this hotel. Read the reviews before you book we wish we had done.! Just not welcoming. Perhaps it was just us.

Stayed here for one night in Bracken and we were very disappointed with how old fashioned and dated it was . Especially for the cost( £298). The bed is a four poster and the curtains were hanging off the canopy , the mattress sunk in the middle, not comfortable at all . The shower hose was split and leaked where it joined the shower head and had been left like that for sometime, and was covered in black mould. The hot tub was very dated and there is no private access to it from the room . The area that the hot tub is in was very scruff , bird muck on the table & chairs and lots of trees surrounding that needed cutting back . This place has so much potential but needs major up grading and a lot of attention for the money charged .
