The peace and quiet environment. The small town feel.

This bed & breakfast has only been open since 2018, but was originally built in 1585 as a convent. It served that purpose until 2014. The hotel is still owned by Sisters of Saint Dorothy. There are a total of 31 rooms, 14 of which have their own bathroom (the other 16 rooms have access to shared toilet facilities). This is a unique property, so it’s difficult to compare to other properties. The staff are all very pleasant and the property is beautiful. In fact, the only way you can see this former convent is to be a guest here (it’s not open to the public). Our room had access to a huge veranda with a view of the lighthouse and the sea beyond it. The bed was not very comfortable and there is no place to hang or store your stuff. The breakfast was possibly the worst I’ve had at a hotel—there was almost nothing to choose from. I am very glad we stayed here and it’s definitely worth staying here once for its historical and architectural significance.

The place was fantastic especially for the price. Although the rooms are small, they met my needs as a solo traveler. The free breakfast was good and filling but there wasnt much variety which can get boring after a few days. The place is immaculately clean and I would not hesitate to stay again.

Ficamos hospedados agora em dezembro; os quartos são bons, camas confortáveis; já os travesseiros achamos super finos (gostamos de travesseiros altos!); já tinha lido esse comentário e se quiser coberta tem q pagar 10,00 pelo período e por coberta já que eles não oferecem no quarto; café da manhã simples, mas gostoso e fazem tapioca e ovos mexidos na hora; os quartos são cheirosos, já a pousada, para mim senti cheiro de coisa antiga; mas valeu a experiência.

A pousada é Maravilhosa, os funcionários prestativos e muito receptivos! Tudo muito limpo, organizado, café da manhã ótimo. O lugar transmite uma paz muito gostosa, ficar no quarto e imaginar quantas noviças passaram por ali, quanta história tem aquele lugar é fascinante para quem gosta e se importa com a história. No convento trabalha o Marcilio que conta a história do convento com muito entusiasmo, eu simplesmente amei, uma pena o convento estar passando por reforma, não pude entrar na capela e fiquei mito curiosa para ver a parte de baixo que tb esta em reforma, é um prédio belíssimo. Com certeza vou voltar! Sou devota de São José e entrar no convento e dar de frente com uma linda imagem de São José, foi um cuidado de Deus.

Foi uma experiência fantástica, melhor do que imaginei. Um quarto de tamanho bom, so não tinha onde apoiar a bagagem, banheiro grande, frigobar, limpeza ótima. Cafe da manha muito bom. Localização perfeita. E um prédio histórico lindo, um funcionario me contou alguns fatos históricos sobre o local, arte, fantástico. Tds funcionários cordiais principalmente o noturno, vista linda do terraço.

O convento poderia ser melhor cuidado, não tem charme e nem aconchego, falta alma. Quartos com espaços estranhos, mas roupa de cama e banho limpos. Café da manhã super simples.
