The hotel environment is great and very clean. They offer a shuttle service to the ski resort and you can also rent ski equipment there. The service is excellent and very welcoming.

I am from Singapore. I added the inn’s phone number on Trip.com into my WeChat. Via text messages in WeChat (I can read and write in Chinese), I asked the inn owner how to get to her inn prior to arriving. Her replies were prompt. So, for non-locals, as long as you can access WeChat using your foreign phone number and can produce text in Chinese, communication would be fine. Apparently there is a local bus that goes to the inn from Jilin train station but on the day of my arrival, the bus wasn’t in service. The inn owner arranged a car to pick me up instead. There is a variety of food that can be ordered at the inn. I slept very well on the simple floor bed. Most importantly, the inn provide excellent service in ferrying the guests to and from the rime spots starting from early in the morning sunrise. The rime I saw on my visit was pretty. There were many guests during my stay. I highly recommend this inn if you come to Wusong island for the rime!

Five-star review! The TV in the room truly exceeded expectations! The screen size was large enough, and the picture quality was clear with vibrant colors, not dull or grayish. The remote control was simple and easy to use, even for elderly guests. A huge bonus was that the TV turned on instantly without any lengthy ads. It came with a wide range of movies, variety shows, and dramas. Screen mirroring from a phone was also seamless, no extra apps needed. The sound quality was excellent and clear. You could adjust brightness and volume, and even choose playback speed. The internet connection was stable, with no buffering. It had all the necessary ports for external devices. The TV consumed low power in standby mode and was very responsive. The system interface was clean, with no annoying pop-ups. Watching shows at night with the lights off created a fantastic ambiance. The room was also meticulously cleaned, the bedding was soft, and the soundproofing was good. The front desk staff were welcoming and responded quickly to any issues. Staying here for a business trip, it was wonderful to relax and watch shows in the room after a busy day. I'll definitely prioritize this hotel for my next trip.

Stayed for nine nights over Chinese New Year for a fantastic ski vacation. The hotel offers convenient ski-in/ski-out access, and the lobby's lounge area is wonderfully cozy and comfortable, with complimentary hot tea – perfect for warming up after a tiring day on the slopes. The service was incredibly thoughtful; when I extended my stay, I had some booking issues that required canceling and rebooking (even past the free cancellation period), but they patiently assisted me with the rebooking, which I greatly appreciate. Breakfast was also very good. Dinner wasn't expensive, and the customizable Malatang (Sichuan hotpot) was excellent. It was also easy to get to town to buy fireworks and to local farm-to-table restaurants. I even won a bottle of wine during the Chinese New Year activities, wishing for a lucky year ahead. Hope to come back next year!

SONG JIANG BONANZA WINNING HOTEL — From Smoke Signals to Sacred Silence Arrival & First Sniff This old dog finally flopped down in Jilin City, relieved to rest my paws at the grandly named Song Jiang Bonanza Winning Hotel. “Winning,” I thought—until my non-smoking room greeted me with a stale tobacco haze. One whiff and I nearly cancelled the stay on the spot. Room Rescue Cue Mr Hong Dejian—calm, English-speaking, and clutching the keys to redemption. He patiently showed me alternative rooms until we found one that didn’t smell like a poker night. Had I left, I would’ve missed what came next. Comfort Food = Home Dinner delivered a miracle: stewed chicken with potatoes and mushrooms. One bite and—boom—mummy’s cooking. After days on the road, I finally found food in China that tasted like home. Tail wagging resumed. Care Beyond the Call Mr Hong returned with a portable heater, pointed out city landmarks, and even taught me how to take a non-reflective photo (yes, this dog learns fast). His easy friendliness softened the edges of dirty window panes and mostly Mandarin-only staff. I even showed him the ink-black towel after wiping the window—evidence, not barking. Menu Meltdown & A Win At the restaurant, I was handed a Chinese-only menu after saying I don’t speak Mandarin. I hit the roof. To their credit, reception listened: I received a call from the lady boss, and the issue was acknowledged. Then a hero appeared—the restaurant lady, who patiently translated dish names so I could choose lunch and dinner without guesswork. Gold bone earned. City Interlude: Jilin Catholic Church Between meals and meetings, I visited Jilin Catholic Church (吉林耶稣圣心堂)—a quiet pause from hotel hiccups. The church offered a moment of stillness, a reminder that even on a bumpy stay, the city holds pockets of grace. Logistics That Worked Back at the desk, the reception lady manager efficiently arranged my transport to Wusong Island—quick, competent, and reassuring. Breakfast & The Fine Print Breakfast surprised me in the best way: healthy, balanced, a thoughtful mix of local and Western dishes. One final bone to chew—early booking didn’t pay off as prices dropped later. A truly Winning Hotel would honour the lower rate at check-in. Verdict Despite communication bumps, this is a solid winter hideout: good Songhua River views, comforting food, and fast service when it counts. Room Amenities: The two-bedroom apartment is perfect for families, featuring two bedrooms, a living room, and a bathroom. The decor is exquisite, and the facilities are complete and new. The room uses a keyless entry system; you simply add the host on WeChat to receive the code, which is very convenient as you don't need a physical card. The only issue is the poor soundproofing of the apartment building; you can hear firecrackers and fireworks outside, as well as loud conversations from next door. Location & Transportation: The apartment is located in Qingshan Apartment Phase 3, right near the ski resort. The hotel offers shuttle service to the ski slopes (though it still requires a short walk). There's a supermarket, bar, and ski rental shop all on the B1 level. Walking to the ski resort takes about 10 minutes, so it's a bit of a distance. Breakfast: The variety isn't extensive, but it's enough to fill you up before hitting the slopes for a full day of skiing. Initially, I booked for three nights, but the snow melted due to warm weather, so we only skied for two days. Besides skiing, there isn't much else to do in the area. Plus, with bad weather forecasted for the sixth day of the ***** New Year, we ended up wasting one night's booking and returned home early.

The room was very clean, the bedding was new and comfortable, and the daily service was excellent. Everything a senior citizen might need was provided, including water, cups, towels, tissues, toothbrushes, and more. The underfloor heating was very comfortable. The two large drawers beside the bed were also very convenient for storage. There's a restaurant downstairs with a wide selection of breakfast and lunch options. I especially liked their rice porridge, beef bibimbap, and seaweed rice rolls. It's also very convenient to get to the ski resort. It's a 7-8 minute walk to the ski equipment hall, and a 10-minute walk back up a short hill. Alternatively, you can take the shuttle bus (3 RMB per person) or a taxi (starting fare). Ski tickets can be booked directly with the host, which is very convenient. I would definitely book here again next time.

The guesthouse is actually a family-run business in a village on Wusong Island, but the owners are quite professional and the place is very clean, which is very important. Although the rooms are simply furnished, each one is a heated kang (traditional heated bed), which is very warm. The breakfast is also plentiful, with eight kinds of pickled vegetables alone—some of which are homemade! There are also eggs, steamed buns, corn, sticky rice cakes, and corn porridge. The corn in the morning was so good I wanted to take two bags home! The formation of Wusong Island is very interesting. With the blessing of the five-star rime ice and the guidance of the owner, Mr. Xie, we truly saw textbook-perfect rime ice! Adults and children alike were amazed, especially my dad who had a great time with the kids. Apparently, the Wusong Island scenic area isn't as extensive as what the owner showed us. The owner took us to several spots where we could see the rime ice, all along the riverbank. The diversity outside the scenic area is definitely richer. You can imagine it's on an island, very rustic, without any luxury hotels—exactly the kind of experience we wanted to give our children… The owners were incredibly warm and hospitable, showcasing the true hospitality of Northeasterners. What kind of amazing business would drive you around to find beautiful rime ice? What kind of amazing business would demonstrate such professional photography skills? What kind of amazing business would patiently explain where the best spots on Wusong Island are and when they're at their best? Only Lao Xie's! I haven't tried any other places, but Lao Xie's guesthouse made us feel right at home—like stepping out of the car and feeling right at home. We changed into slippers inside—the heating was wonderful! We arrived around 9 pm and hadn't eaten yet, but we had pre-booked a hot pot meal, and it was served as soon as we entered! The food was good and the price was reasonable. The main problem is that the village gets pitch black at night, and there's not much else to eat there. Finally, if you're driving, I suggest going during the day. Driving into the village at night is dangerous because there are no lights along the way, especially if you're unfamiliar with the area. Also, if you plan to see the sunrise during the day, be sure to dress warmly and wear gloves! I forgot mine, and my hands were practically frozen solid!

This is a very good hotel. My mother and two babies are very happy. The hotel rooms are very luxurious, much better than the hotels of the same price in the south. The service quality, especially Wang Bing from the front office, made us feel at home. She was very enthusiastic and explained clearly all the questions we didn't understand. Just because of Wang Bing, I will stay here again when I go back to Jilin.

Very good and clean. Before going, the sisters turned on the air conditioner in advance. The electric mattress was turned on. It was very warm and felt at home. I would go there in the future
