We had a perfect three days at Bosque with our family to celebrate my birthday, what a special place it is, Casa Miramar was just perfect for us, lots of birds, peccaries with a baby pig, coatis, great curassow, frogs, monkeys and many more. We had lunch and dinner at the restaurant and it was delicious and plentiful, all the staff was great and welcoming. We hiked every day immerse in the rainforest or to the beach with natural tide pools it was amazing. I can’t say enough about this paradise, we will return.

Bosque del Cabo is one of my favorite places on earth. My husband and I have been twice with our 7 and 11 year old daughters - along with another family of 4. My kids love it so much, my 11 year old Franny asked to write this review: Bosque Del Cabo is a very special and magical place. When you walk around the rocky paths or taste a special Casado (a yummy traditional Costa Rican dish with rice and beans, and a meat or fish main, complete with vegetables and side dishes), you can’t help but gasp. When you visit Bosque you are off the grid completely. You have no wi-fi unless you are at the main restaurant or the bar/pool. You get to stay in cabins and have to walk to go see someone or get to the main areas. Dinner is at 7 and there is a happy hour/hang out hour with snacks and drinks at 6. There are lots of day activities like spending the day on a catamaran with Captain Kali, visiting the tide pools the size of hot tubs, or going on the fun zipline and tree climbing combo tour! And of course you can’t forget about the everyone's-welcome (even kids) bar and pool! The bar has "adult drinks" and has "kid drinks" - SMOOTHIES! you can get smoothies of all flavors! Once you have to leave you feel like booking your next visit right away! Everyone there is so friendly, all the staff will learn your names and always have your back. The food there is delicious and the property is stunning. Bosque Del Cabo is a beautiful and magical place filled with love and wildlife.

This unforgettable eco lodge is amazing! Easily the best lodge / resort I’ve stayed at in my life. I’ve worked as a hiking and photography guide since 2008 and stay at high-end lodges 100+ nights per year. Bosque del Cabo is a head above the rest due to their jaw-dropping location overflowing with wildlife , friendly and knowledgeable customer service and local guides, the delicious food, and kind ecologically-minded owners. There are many more reasons to boast about Bosque. Come see for yourself.

We just returned from our second visit to Bosque. We are an active and adventurous retired couple and enjoy travel with our two adult kids and their spouses. Bosque is, for us, about as good as it gets. The setting for the lodge and cabinas is remote and breathtaking. Sitting about 500' above the water at the southern tip of the OSA, it feels totally peaceful and serene. The lodge maintains its own trails and offers excellent, detailed information re maps, guiding, safety and just good common sense suggestions such that most capable folks would be comfortable hiking on their own (or guided). Healthy and delicious food is a priority for our family and BDC ticks all the boxes here. However, the most incredible aspect of BDC has to be the people. All of the staff ( I would name individuals but would feel very badly if I inadveretently missed someone) are sincere, helpful and engaging - we just really enjoyed being around them. At the end of the day, Phil and Kim really do make it happen. Real commitment is a must if one is going to try to maintain a balanced approach to conservation, renewable resources and guest satisfaction. I think its fair to say that Phil and Kim treat guests more like friends or family when when you visit Bosque.

Bosque is the perfect location for a mom/daughter getaway! There are so many different things to do, it’s so easy for everyone to have perfectly dreamy days! The wildlife, forest, and lodge are all just incredible - add in spectacular staff, outstanding food and soooo many places to relax - Bosque has it all! You can get an idea of all it has to offer on the website- what you can’t truly experience until you visit is how incredibly close you will be to the most beautiful nature while being taken care of by the most sincerely attentive and sweet staff you will ever encounter. There are so many wonderful places in the world and yet we still find ourselves returning to Bosque over and over because it is just that special.

I just love this lodge. I have been taking groups to the Osa for almost 20 years. Every time I go to Bosque with a group we are welcomed with open arms. Not only from the staff, but also from the owners. Kim and Phil have created such a special lodge, a place where wildlife and people can live together in a healthy and balanced environment. It is not uncommon to see tons of animals, from coaties roaming around to monkeys swinging in the trees. Even pumas have been spotted, as well as peccaries and tapirs. I am always amazed at the incredible biodiversity that lives on this property. The food is always delicious and the presentation impeccable. The rooms are large and airy and have some of the best views of the Gulf. You can even find Phil the owner helping the guests, bringing bags to the rooms and Kim making sure everything is just right for the guests. Just recently, in March, we hosted a fun wedding in Palenque in their garden. Everyone was so impressed. Many thanks to Kim and Phil and all the staff. I cannot rave enough about Bosque Del Cabo. If you're hesitating, don't! Go and you will LOVE it!

We had a wonderful stay at Bosque del Cabo, our favourite place of all those visited in Costa Rica. We stayed in Casa Miramar, the open house, which was an incredible experience as feels like you are sleeping in the jungle. We had so many visitors to the house alone: agoutis, capybaras, macaws, an anteater, toucans, howler monkeys, squirrel monkeys and pecarries! Plus a wonderful view of the ocean and our own pool. The staff are fantastic and go out of their way to help with all the different activities. There are so many hikes you can do self guided but also the onsite naturalist is fantastic. We also enjoyed the horseback riding and our sons had fantastic surf lessons. Many of the others we met were returnees and we can understand why! We hope to visit again!

This was our second stay at Bosque de Cabo and it did not disappoint. We brought our adult daughter with us this time to celebrate her birthday and it was everything we hoped for. .. . down to the beautiful heart-shaped cake the chef made for her birthday! The lodge is on a beautiful reserve. The lodge grounds are beautifully maintained and the reserve is left wild with well-maintained trails. Our daughter was out hiking every day and would have stayed forever if she could! There is a naturalist on the grounds who leads night tours, birding tours and nature walks and is available for questions the rest of the time. We took advantage of all of that. Carlos is a delight. We went horseback riding with Miguel and, again, one of the most amazing experiences I've had. We been on many trail rides but these horses were the best I've been on .... very well cared for, very responsive, very well behaved. Miguel follows a path through the rainforest onto the beach, along the beach to tide pools that present an interesting collection of sea life. The rest stop included Miguel finding and opening a coconut with his machete, we all drank the coconut milk and the horses joined us in enjoying the coconut meat! Meals at the Bosque are excellent and take everyone's dietary needs into account. There is a family pool and an adult pool and both nicely landscaped and maintained. We did enjoy our late afternoon swims after hiking. The rooms are beautiful. Ours had an unobstructed view of the Pacific ocean and a little grassy area that we shared with coati, peccaries and an armadillo. The beds are very comfortable, the fans are perfect for cooling at night and the area is so quiet. We also took a tour into Corcovado National Park. .. . very interesting with even more opportunities to see wildlife . . . . . we saw all four kinds of monkeys, a tapir, a sloth and a porcupine in additional to numerous birds. The tour requires an hour long boat ride from Puerto Jimenez to Corcovado . . . where the boats stop about 10 feet from the shore and you wade in (bring two pairs of shoes . . . one for water and one for hiking, you can leave your water shoes at the ranger station while on your hike) I get seasick very easily but had no trouble on this trip with a dose of meclizine, even though it was a rainy day. We saw bottlenose dolphins on the way out. In short, our stay at Bosque was magical in every way. . ... no complaint about anything from any of us..... we highly recommend you enjoy a stay there for several days (we were there for four)

We spent five nights at this lovely lodge. First off, I cannot say enough good things about the staff. They were all so friendly, welcoming, and extremely helpful with all of our questions that came up. They were also incredibly organized in helping to plan our daytrips, including transportation with the pick-up/drop off at the Puerto Jimenez airport – even when we changed our arrival time as we were able to catch an earlier flight into Puerto Jimenez. Additionally, we were so impressed by Carlos – the nature guide, who found and identified the various bats, frogs, tarantulas and scorpions on our night walk (a must-do activity) and the various monkey troops and birds on our day walk with him. Carlos was gifted in being able to imitate the various sounds of the frogs and monkeys, and even had frogs respond to his calls, which was fun to listen to. He is a wealth of information and he had an amazing ability of locating birds and animals at a distance with his spotting scope. Breakfasts and lunches included a menu, and dinners were buffet that included a range of different types of food to accommodate different taste preferences. There was also a bar that had the most amazing passion fruit margaritas among other drinks. As for the insects, we had come prepared for lots of mosquitoes with heavy duty Deet, but to our surprise, we were only bitten a few times at sunset. For a jungle that is pretty good – albeit, we were there in the dry season. We were thankful not to see any spiders or scorpions in our cabana. Our cabana had screens, but there were places for spiders and insects to get through if they wanted, but we had no problems. We did have a hummingbird that came into our cabana one morning, when I left the door open, which was exiting, although he/she was able to find it’s way out. Our cabana (Manglillo) did have an electrical outlet for charging our phones, and the small fans by our bed. We had a king size bed that was comfortable, and view of the ocean below. It was quiet, except for the occasional discussion between the Macaws in the surrounding trees. I had hoped to be woken up by howler monkeys, but no such luck. It was a good reminder that we cannot always plan which wild animals we will see or hear on any trip. Additionally, the toilet and sink were inside and the shower outside in a private area. The water was hot enough for us, although we enjoyed a cooler shower given the heat. The cabana does come supplied with shampoo/conditioner and gel. There was no wi-fi in the cabanas, although I could send a text without pictures, from the cabana, and we could catch up on emails and posts at the main lodge. We also did see lots of spider monkeys on the grounds, and Coati’s, which were fun to see. When flying into Puerto Jimenez, there is a 30 lb weight limit for checked luggage. Surprisingly we managed with only 25 lbs. There is apparently laundry service at the lodge, but we were able to do some laundry in the sink and hang clothes out t
