Me and my boyfriend stayed here for 5 days and we loved every minute ! It was amazing ! People were lovely and anything we needed help with such as public transport or ordering a taxi they were happy to help. We booked breakfast included which was definitely worth it as the breakfast had a variety of options and it was delicious. The location of the hotel wasn’t in the central of Pisa but still a great place to have it and a bus stop is right outside the hotel so once we had figured out the bus system it was super useful. Overall a great hotel and great customer service.

Perfect location - 25 minutes walk from the train station - walk out the front of the hotel turn right & you see the Tower in seconds. Rooms clean / tidy & traditional but perfectly adequate for a 2 night stay in Pisa. Breakfast was buffet style & had everything from cereals, croissants, yogurts to bacon & eggs - all good. The rooftop bar is the star though - it has a perfect view of the tower. Costs are reasonable as well being the same as what you would pay at street level.

I booked this hotel after seeing another reviewer say that they stayed here as a solo female traveller and found it clean and safe. I would echo this reviewer's comments. I stayed here for five nights, and used Pisa as a base to travel to other places (namely Lucca, Firenze, and Siena) so wanted somewhere within a reasonable walking distance of the train station as I envisioned returning to the hotel when it was dark. I took the 'Pisa mover' shuttle from the airport to Pisa Centrale station (which cost €5 and took around 5 minutes), and then the walk to Hotel Bologna with my suitcase was in pretty much a straight line through the main square and down paved and well lit streets. It took around 7 minutes to walk from the station to the hotel. I arrived at Hotel Bologna at around 10:00 and was able to leave my suitcase in a secure room (no charge) whilst I spent the day exploring Pisa. I came back around 18:00, collected my case, and formally checked in (although I could have checked in at 13:30) before heading out for dinner. Staff were mainly young and male, and were pleasant and spoke very good English. I was allocated room 16 which was on the first floor and overlooked the small car park and a patio area. There was no external noise apart from the odd aeroplane which cannot be helped anywhere in Pisa, although I imagine that (1) people might use the patio for drinks in better/warmer weather which would bother me if they were rowdy; and (2) people in the rooms which overlook the road at the front of the hotel (Via Giuseppe Mazzini) might experience a bit of traffic noise. The internal walls seemed quite thin and I suspect that the bathroom of the adjoining room was located right next to my bed as it was noisier than expected when they were having a shower and talking in the bathroom. However, luckily, the people next door weren't particularly noisy and showered at a reasonable time, so it didn't bother me per se. I stayed in a single room (single bed with en-suite) which was definitely big enough for just myself/did not feel cramped. The room was decorated in a more 'traditional Tuscan style' (think greens, reds, and golds) so not particularly 'instagram worthy' but neither am I. The room and bathroom felt and were kept very clean by housekeeping, as were the bedding and towels. The bathroom contained a toilet, shower cubicle with sliding doors, bidet, sink with large mirror, tissue dispenser, sanitary bag dispenser, toilet brush, bin with lid, and hairdryer. You receive complimentary shampoo, body wash, intimate wash, vegetable based soap bar, shower cap, and shoe sponge. In the bedroom there is another bin and a desk and chair with large mirror. Underneath the desk is a mini fridge containing a range of drinks and snacks, which I removed and instead used the fridge to store my own food and drink which I purchased from a Carrefour Express minimart which was a circa 5 minute walk away near the main shopping street. Family environment with careful and available staff, breakfast varies very different with possibilities for lactose-free products, cleaning is accurate, despite the proximity to the station the structure is silent. In our room we appreciated the necessary to make tea with cookies. The location and just outside the walls next to the station, you can reach all the interesting places on foot, but for those who do not like to walk a few dozens of meters the buses are going. The private parking is very interesting in front of the hotel. I hope I have the opportunity to come back.

we stayed here for one night - it's an ok hotel, walking distance from the train station which was a priority for us. The rooms were clean and in reasonable order and the breakfast was good. The one issue for us was the noise of the elevator - we were in room 112 which is located next to the elevator shaft - it was noisy as the lift seemed to be operating throughout the night.

It was only a short trip of two days in Pisa before moving on to Palermo. My first time in Pisa. So we tried to book a cheap hotel room there because we would be out exploring the area and only needed a place to sleep. Pros: The Hotel IL Giardino is situated behind the historic retaining wall of the Piazza dei Miracoli. It's only 5 minutes on foot from the hotel to the Leaning Tower of Pisa, only half a minute walking before you can see the tower. The bed was fairly comfortable and there was a little fridge in my room. The hotel feels safe and has suitable door locking systems. The staff are friendly and kind. The roof terrace is quiet and cozy. Cons: Unfortunately my room doesn't have windows, only a skylight that couldn't be opened. The only fresh air was exclusively from the air conditioner. No lamp on the bedside table. Warm water in the shower doesn't come until after 5 minutes and with low pressure. The room door lock is very loud when opening and closing, especially at night when the people are asleep, also impossible to close door quietly and a loud beeping when the key card is used. The walls are poorly soundproofed. There is a little bar inside, but it was closed over the whole time we stayed there. My travel partner moved into the room opposite to mine. His room was a little better, a bedside lamp, better partitioning of the room, but also no windows in the walls. Really annoying: I paid the same as my travel partner for a different state of quality and comfort. Summary: The Hotel Il Giardino has allegedly better and more comfortable rooms in the premises. If you are traveling through and stay for a night or two, and you don't want to really reside there, this kind of room may a solution - if you don't have claustrophobia. But: the value for money is bad. It is relatively expensive, because of the famous sights there. + clean house and clean rooms + close to the Leaning Tower of Pisa + secure room door locks + fairly comfortable bed + little fridge in the room + air conditioner in single room + nice rooftop terrace + nice staff - no windows inside - no possibility to open the single skylight - no fresh air from windows possible - cold to tepid water temparature in the shower - claustrophobic ambience - slightly poor soundproofed walls - very loud door lock - low value for money

We've just returned from a great three night stay at the Di Stefano. Great location, less than 10 minutes walk from the Leaning Tower and 15 minutes from Pisa Centrale Station. The room was spacious and modern and enough space for the four of us. Excellent air conditioning and was extremely quiet at night. We all slept really well. The staff were always very friendly and each morning they serve a lovely continental breakfast in the ground floor vault which has a lot of character. I'd recommend taking a drink up to the terrace where you can see the top of the tower poking up above the roof tops. All in all a great trip and I'd highly recommend for any travellers wanting to see what Pisa has to offer beyond the Leaning Tower as well as a base to reach Florence (just an hour away by train).

The suites, living room and room are large in size, with a total of 2 large beds, which are very comfortable to sleep. The facilities are slightly old, but the sanitation is very good. A little distance from the city, there is a large supermarket within 15 minutes of walking.
