We stayed at Peppers for Christmas and New Year holiday. The location is great for walking distance into town and walking to 4 mile beach is an easy walking distance as well. The oil is great and very kids friendly with a nice Sandy shallow edge all the way around. We have a ground floor room with a spa bath and this was used a lot in the evening to relax, you don’t have full privacy so wear your swim suit but that’s no problem. The rooms are nice and comfortable for two people. The breakfast is not buffet style you order off a menu and they have almond milk which is great if you are like me and enjoy a almond mocha or hot chocolate. The only downside I have to this place is they don’t give you complimentary water in your room. Nor is there a water fountain where you can fill up your bottles during the day? Unless I’m missing something but they try to be eco friendly with their room service cutlery and food packaging but no eco friendly options for water. I drink anywhere from 1-3 litres of water a day especially up in a tropical climate. So definitely a few water fountains installed around the place would be amazing. Some places I’ve stayed have both still and sparkling water fountain options. Other than that we had a great stay and the staff were really nice, the small gym is good for a quick cardio and simple weights workout and the layout we had no trouble with. Room was ok, on the smaller side, basic. Could do with a freshen up, I.e. rubbish bin in bathroom with rusting lid. TV ok, had foxtel, no streaming services. Quiet enough at night to sleep, but noisy otherwise, pool means kids up early playing and could hear people in halls/above. Not ideal if you want a holiday sleep in. Pool was nice, quite cool in temperature. Music definitely too loud, hard to relax with it cranking all day. Given the reviews was better than I expected, but wouldn’t want to stay for a long trip here. More a motel than a hotel/resort.

The environment is good, there are standard resort scenery, pool, pool table, bar are OK. At night, the lights under the swimming pool are dim, and it feels very suitable for the swimsuits to line up, but unfortunately the pool is not open at night. Health, the overall facilities are not bad. In the evening, the hotel restaurant can order some western food, and the price and taste are not bad. The only thing that is inconvenient is that the traffic is not convenient. If you want to go out for dinner and need to walk for more than half an hour, the hotel can also help to call the bus, but it is still not convenient.

I will start by saying I am not your typical nostel stayer. I am 36 years old and was visitng Australia on a solo vacation. I really loved staying at the Port Douglas Backpackers. I opted for a private room and honsetly think it was one of the best deals in town. I had my own private bathroom and the hostel offered many of the same amenities you would find ina standard hotel. It had a lovely pool, great staff that were happy to both help you find tours, answer questions and welcome and introduce you to other guest and staff. I felt very welcome and well-taken care of by the staff. The room was spacious, great AC, clean and even had a TV ( aluzury in a hostel), . For the most part, it was quietThe location couldn't be beat. Only a few minutes walk right to the heart of the village. Access to lots of coffee shop, stores, grocery, bars and restaurants. Port Douglas is a charming town and I wish I had booked more nights at the PD Backpackers. I would highly recommend it for travelers of all ages who are looking for an affordable option in a resort town like Port Douglas.

Unfortunately this visit to Port was a family death & funeral. We made a booking sight unseen as we needed to have a place to stay at very short notice. The staff were very accomodating as we potentially had a late check in which was no problem. We had a king size room which was clean and well presented. Had an outdoor spa and a balcony which was very nice. Had 2 large pools and 2 BBQ areas. Room had both aircon & fan and was very comfortable. It was very convenient a short walking distance to the heart of Port. Would recommend

Booking our stay at the Coral Beach Lodge was a bit of a last minute thing and I must say that I was a bit dubious about the communal kitchen, but I was pleasantly surprised. The receptionist was very friendly and helpful and our room was clean and a good size, which included an outdoor table and 2 chairs outside the sliding door at the back of the room. The pool was lovely! There was also a table tennis table and a pool table which we had a few games on. The communal kitchen was great as everyone was friendly and chatty with each other. I think this may be a back packers place as there were a lot of young travelers there. We did plan a barbecue for that night though, but the gas bottle was empty so we cooked it in the kitchen. They are building a bar there but it won't be ready until April. Overall, a nice place to stay and was only $99 for the night.

Our family of 5 visited in January 2023. Upon checking in we noticed a bit dated/aged feeling to the apartment (211) which was surprising considering the photos advertising like new amenities. When booking, a main consideration for our family is access to Wi-Fi, to communicate with family, stream movies for children etc; we we’re unapologetically informed that after our booking was made, Wi-Fi is no longer available at the venue. (At the time of writing this review, TripAdvisor still lists the location as having Wi-Fi). This was a most disappointing factor of our stay here, as we felt falsely advertised to and likely wouldn’t have booked a stay here without the Wi-Fi. On the plus side, the location has a newly renovated pool which our children spent much time in. The beach is a stone’s throw from the property and we found the city of Port Douglas to be laid back and charming. Overall. this location would benefit from renovation as there was a lot of rust and unclean/broken items in the apartment. While the proximity to the beach of this location is the highlight, there are several areas which could be improved to make a stay here seem more of what we expect when vacationing.

Great location. Two pools everything we needed to keep two teenagers fed. We did the 3 bedroom and really enjoyed the location. 5 min to 4 mile beach 10 min to town and we walked it that awesome tropical heat 🥵 car parks seemed plenty. Used the washing machine a few times in our unit and the communal dryer, all included. Have Foxtel, basic tea coffee for your arrival and I hired a beach towel $5 for the week! Thanks 🙏🏿
