"I think this hotel is fantastic for the price; located directly across from the tram station with a direct line to the main station. The room was extremely small, but functional, with an observable attention given to the functionality of the room through its design. Areas for improvement include the shared facilities, keep in mind, this hotel hosts both hotel guests, as well as in-resident guests (mostly university students studying abroad), as such, the shared spaces are not sufficient or clean enough to be utilised comfortably by so many people. In addition, the use of the hotel for in-resident university students means the design and decor are somewhat juvenile-feeling in nature. Apart from this — just like any hotel — it serves its function as a clean and comfortable space to spend time between days of exploring local Florence!"

"⭐⭐☆☆☆ 2/5 Nice room, but hidden fees and disappointing location The room itself was beautiful — clean, stylishly decorated, and comfortable for a solo traveller, even if it was a little smaller than expected. So credit where it’s due: the physical space was lovely. Unfortunately, a few things really affected my stay. I was asked for a €50 per night deposit upon check-in, which came as a complete surprise. This was not mentioned anywhere when I booked, and it hit hard as a solo traveller on a tight budget. I lost €100 before I even saw the city, and it honestly dampened the whole experience. The staff at check-in were cold and not welcoming at all, which made the arrival feel awkward. Thankfully, check-out was much better — the person on the desk was kind and friendly, which helped leave things on a slightly better note. As for location: it’s not ideal. The hotel is tucked behind the main train station down some pretty dirty, sketchy-feeling streets. It’s about a 20-minute walk to the Duomo, and for the price I paid, I expected to be much closer to the centre. Overall, the hotel itself is fine — but in the wrong location and definitely the wrong price bracket. Unless the prices come down and they’re more transparent about deposits, I wouldn’t stay here again."

"I used it as a place to stay during my trip to Florence. It's a little far from the center of Florence, but you can easily get there by tram. The room had a great atmosphere and was very clean. Also, the breakfast is wonderful. It seems that they have a restaurant attached, and they serve a wonderful breakfast there. This is a hotel I would like to visit again."

"It is in the suburbs of Florence, feels relatively safe, and is quite close to the old town. Quite pleasantly surprised, with a retro manor style, comfortable environment, and swimming. It's just that the room equipment is a bit old, the cabinets and other things are relatively antique, and the sound insulation is relatively poor. It depends on whether the style is acceptable to the individual. I personally think it has a unique charm. The mattress is also very comfortable. You can have cleanliness (very clean every day), location (10 min walk to The Duomo and Galleria dell Accademia), service (Very helpful staffs to all racies), facilities (washing machine very helpful for travellers, and free minibar that fills everyday) all in one. However, it could be better explained to future guests to avoid any confusion. Not everyone will have a working phone or data plan when they arrive in Italy, and it’s important for the villa to have a backup plan in case guests are unable to connect. One simple suggestion would be to provide Wi-Fi access at the entrance of the villa and share the network name and password with guests before their arrival. This would make it easier for everyone to access the automated system without any issues. Room & Comfort I stayed in the Deluxe Suite, located on the first floor of a three-story villa, right next to the breakfast room. At first, I was concerned about noise, but the thick, heavy door completely blocked any sounds from the breakfast area. I never heard a thing in the morning. The room has blackout curtains that provide great privacy and darkness, which I really appreciated. The bathroom was newly renovated with luxury finishes, including stone walls that give it a high-end feel. The room was clean, and the daily housekeeping service kept everything spotless, with fresh towels replaced daily. One of the standout features of Villa Tortorelli is Karen, the person in charge of breakfast service and housekeeping. She is incredibly attentive and hardworking. She ensures that guests are well taken care of, and the breakfast is always well-prepared and served hot. Honestly, if they lose Karen, the villa would lose two stars in reviews. She is one of their greatest assets. Breakfast Experience The breakfast service was excellent. The food is prepared fresh every morning, and Karen makes sure there is always a variety of hot and cold options available. The breakfast room is cozy and inviting, with plenty of choices to start your day off right. The Villa’s Atmosphere & Location The villa is peaceful and surrounded by greenery, making it a relaxing place to stay. It’s also within walking distance of all the major tourist attractions in Florence, which makes it very convenient for exploring the city. One Minor Issue The only negative point during my stay was that the room felt quite cold when I first arrived. However, I reached out to the WhatsApp help service, and the heating system was adjusted quickly. Within a short time, the room felt much warmer and more comfortable. Final Thoughts Overall, Villa Tortorelli is a great option for those looking for a peaceful, well-located stay in Florence. The automated check-in system could use some improvement to avoid any potential issues for guests without a data plan, but aside from that, the rooms are clean and comfortable, the breakfast is excellent, and the staff is very attentive. Would I stay here again? Yes, especially for Karen’s service and the peaceful villa atmosphere!"
