Courtyard by Marriott Shanghai Fengxian Reviews

This is opulent and decadent. There is a special events room, restaurant, pool, spa and sauna, and best for me was the bathtub (and shower) in the room. Because of the tub, I didn't even go to the pool. I had room service, and they didn't speak English, but came to my room to take my order in person. I had a burger, fries and Caesar salad and a beer. It was very good. I enjoyed breakfast in the morning, it was expansive and amazing, plus juices and coffee. I was able to try so many things. There were choices if you wanted Continental, but Chinese things as well. I liked it and had an amazing night's sleep. I only have pictures of the tub and my breakfast. I would stay again. Also, I went off in the Didi and returned and it was easy to come and go.

Hotel is Fine, breakfast is wonderful, but It is Smoke tolerant. Neverthrless the hotel says its Smoke free, It is not true. You Can Fell cigarrete Smoke on ALL hotel áreas, including inside the Room through hvac system. I complained , but staff did nothing. No fines to smokers, not even a request to stop smoking.

I had an unpleasant experience checking in as the aircon wasn't working in the rooms. I changed 3 rooms till I was given one that was fine. Yet, I had to request a fan as the aircon wasn't fantastically cold. I stayed in another hotel in Shanghai and it was brilliant. The room was made ready for us before check-in. I guess it's a Mariott thing. We stayed in another Mariott property in Zibo and they too had aircon issues. :( Otherwise, the staff were friendly and tried their best to understand you and overall I would say that it was fine. They have an Indian menu and the food was prepared by a Chinese chef. Not bad. The location was great as there were many shops nearby.

It was pretty good hotel and the breakfast was fine but not great.

Fengxian is really a paradise in Shanghai. I chose to stay here for one night. After all, it is a hotel operated by an old luxury hotel brand. Even if it focuses on cost-effectiveness, the services in all aspects are impeccable. When we checked in, Miss Grace at the front desk answered many of our questions enthusiastically, and told us where the swimming pool is and how to park. The room is spacious and clean. Everything is sufficient. I will stay here again next time.

The old hotel doesn't look old. It reminds me of the Qilu Courtyard next to my school when I was a kid. The architectural style is the same as the Grand Mercure Xianxia Road, full of 90s style! There is nothing to complain about, and the breakfast is better than some bad five-star hotels. The fact that it has been able to maintain good quality for many years must be due to the presence of excellent managers!

The afternoon tea did not match what was shown in the package pictures, but after efforts, cakes and fruits were compensated. There are no macarons, sandwiches, bacon, etc., and there are peanuts, melon seeds, and pistachios that are not included in the set meal.
