I recently stayed at the Courtyard Marriott in Fengxian, and it was a thoroughly enjoyable experience. The hotel strikes a great balance between comfort, service, and modern design.
Rooms:
The room was spacious, clean, and well-appointed with thoughtful touches. The bed was especially comfortable, and I appreciated the strong water pressure in the shower. Everything felt fresh and well-maintained, contributing to a relaxing environment after a long day.
Service:
The staff was consistently professional and attentive. Check-in and check-out were both smooth, and any requests I made were handled promptly. While not everyone spoke fluent English, they were eager to assist and always did so with a positive attitude.
Dining:
Breakfast offered a good mix of local and Western dishes. I found the variety and quality to be above average for a business hotel. The restaurant staff was courteous and ensured the dining area remained clean and well-stocked throughout service.
Facilities:
The gym and public areas were clean and modern. I didn’t get a chance to use the meeting rooms, but they looked well-equipped. The hotel also had a calm, business-friendly atmosphere that made it ideal for both work and rest.
Location:
Situated in Fengxian, it’s a bit outside central Shanghai, but perfect if you have business in the area. It’s relatively easy to access via Didi or taxi. The nearby surroundings are quiet and safe, with a few local restaurants and convenience stores in walking distance.
Overall:
A solid choice for both business and leisure travelers seeking comfort and consistency in Fengxian. I would definitely consider staying here again and recommend it to others looking for a dependable Marriott experience outside the city center.
The front desk staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. Their arrangements were excellent, and they were very accommodating with all requests, leaving me thoroughly satisfied. I'll definitely stay here again!
The hotel has an elegant environment, and Mr. Tang from the front office provides considerate and thoughtful service! The room is spacious and comfortable, the facilities are modern and exquisite, and the surrounding scenery is pleasant. Whether it is a business trip or a leisure vacation, it is an excellent choice. I will come again next time. The breakfast tastes very good and has a rich variety. I highly recommend it.

It was a very good living experience. The staff at the front desk I met were serious and responsible, and the service was very attentive. The feedback on requests was very efficient and effective. Special thanks to the girl at the front desk👧, who had a delicious small dessert at night. The hotel has complete facilities, the decoration is relatively new, and the facilities are very easy to use. Laundry, office and fitness are very convenient, and the sanitation and cleaning are timely. I stayed here for a few days and the living experience was very good. I highly recommend this hotel when I return to Fengxian.
As a multi-generational family traveling with seniors and children, we chose the Sheraton Fengxian Baohua, hoping for a comfortable holiday. The hotel's hardware truly stood out – the spacious and grand public areas, generous room layouts, and excellent location (adjacent to Qingxi Ancient Town and Shanghai Fish) all laid a solid foundation for our trip. However, the 'soft services' during this stay were a major disappointment, starting strong but quickly deteriorating. The management shortcomings exposed during the peak holiday season were particularly regrettable.
**I. Positive Highlights: Robust Hardware, Heartfelt Frontline Service**
1. **Excellent Hardware Facilities:**
The hotel's overall decor is modern and elegant. The high-ceiling lobby design feels open and bright, guest rooms are spacious with good soundproofing, and the mattresses offer medium firmness, making them suitable for elderly guests. Its prime location is a significant advantage, with Qingxi Ancient Town within walking distance and attractions like Shanghai Fish and Fengxian Museum all within a 15-minute drive.
2. **Heartwarming Support from Frontline Staff:**
Despite frequent issues at the management level, our housekeeper, Auntie Duan Xiubi, was an absolute lifesaver. When we faced the predicament of no spare duvets (the front desk claimed, ”all spare bedding was used up”), she proactively intervened. She not only quickly found pillows and personally put on clean duvet covers but also thoughtfully told us, ”It's busy during the holidays, no need to rush, make sure you get some rest first,” and even wished us to ”have fun.” Her enthusiasm, resourcefulness, and sense of responsibility injected warmth into the stark management shortcomings, becoming the sole 'service highlight' of our stay.
**II. Negative Experience: Disorganized Management, Slow Service Response**
1. **Chaotic Check-in Process, Excessive Communication Burden:**
Our group arrived at 11:30 AM to discuss check-in time, clearly stating that ”the whole family would go out for lunch and return around 1:00 PM to check in.” However, upon our punctual return at 1:00 PM, only one of our three booked rooms was ready. Considering the holiday crowd, we proactively suggested, ”we'll gather in one room to rest first,” but this wait stretched to 2.5 hours. It wasn't until 3:30 PM, after multiple calls, that the remaining room cards were delivered by a robot, with no human providing any updates on the progress. The elderly and children grew tired from waiting in the cramped room, and the lobby sofa area was also full, offering no alternative resting spot. The experience was extremely poor.
2. **Basic Services Missing, Superficial Emergency Handling:**
Upon checking in, we found no spare duvets in the room. When we called the front desk, the response was, ”There are too many guests during the May Day holiday, all spare bedding has been used up.” Such a shortage of basic guest supplies indicates a serious miscalculation of holiday occupancy by the hotel. It was only after our persistence that Auntie Duan managed to arrange for a blanket (not standard bedding), while the front desk never proactively followed up or apologized.
3. **Passive Management, Relying on Frontline Staff to ”Firefight”:**
From check-in delays to supply shortages, the core problem stemmed from management's disorganized coordination: a lack of oversight on cleaning progress, insufficient guest supply reserves, and no emergency mechanisms in place. When faced with guest requests, the front desk merely robotically repeated ”please wait” and offered no solutions (such as prioritizing access to a lounge area or providing complimentary drinks), creating a stark contrast with the proactive efforts of the frontline staff.
**III. Summary and Recommendations**
If rated comprehensively as ”5/5 for hardware, 3/5 for service,” the hotel's solid foundation in hardware is certainly commendable. However, the service details proved to be a significant weakness, especially during peak occupancy, where management flaws directly exacerbated guest inconveniences, making it extremely unfriendly for multi-generational families with elderly and children.
**Suggested Improvements:**
1. During holidays, optimize cleaning schedules in advance and display real-time room readiness status to minimize guests' unproductive waiting time.
2. Stock sufficient basic guest supplies (e.g., duvets, cribs) to prevent passive situations where supplies run out.
3. Management needs to proactively take responsibility for coordination, rather than leaving frontline staff to ”put out fires” alone. Basic compensation solutions (such as late check-out or dining discounts) could be offered to alleviate guest frustration.
Finally, a special thank you to Auntie Duan Xiubi. Her presence made us believe that if the hotel truly prioritizes supporting and training its frontline staff, the service experience would undoubtedly see a qualitative improvement. We hope management will listen to the voices from the ground and not allow heartwarming individual efforts to be undermined by disorganized management.
(Note: This experience is based on the May Day holiday in 2025; regular service may vary and is provided for reference.)
The hotel is located in the middle of Shanghai Fish, suitable for self-driving, but not convenient for public transportation.
If there is a vacancy, you can check in before 12 o'clock, and all hotel staff are polite. A deposit is required for check-in, but it is refunded in seconds when checking out. Unfortunately, the ”butler service” has never been seen.
The room facilities are new, various operating surfaces are spacious, and it is close enough to get out of bed to the bathroom. There are 4 bath towels and large and small towels. The balcony is slightly small.
At the entrance of the breakfast room, there is a reminder of dining congestion, which is indeed the case.
In addition, the hotel is not together with the conference center, and it is often seen that takeaways choose the wrong address.
I have always trusted the quality of Vienna Hotel. This hotel was built last year and is relatively new. The hygiene and location are good. The hotel facilities are also very useful. There is a gym and laundry room on the second floor. There is also a picking garden at the door, and vendors sell watermelons. It is absolutely happy to have a sweet watermelon in summer.
However, there was a small episode. During the check-in process, the room suddenly lost power. The hotel aunt was very enthusiastic to help contact the staff and it was restored in about ten minutes. The next day, when I went out and returned to the room, this situation happened again. I reported it to the front desk when I checked out, but the front desk only expressed that it was not clear and did not pay attention to it. I hope that the hotel management and engineering department can pay attention to it and find out the cause. If the guest falls when taking a shower at night, it will be very troublesome. Thank you.
Every time I go to Nanqiao, I must stay at Yuehua. The location is good and the rooms are clean. I will dine at Longyin Pavilion every time. The classic braised pork feet with peanuts is never greasy. The new dish of pickled mustard greens and pork liver is delicious. The pickled mustard greens are flavorful and the pork liver is tender. I will stay here again next time.
The overall environment of the hotel is clean and stylish. The room is large, very spacious, clean and tidy. There is also free coffee in the lobby, which is great! It's great to have free drinking water in the room. The location is also good. There is a bus stop right outside the hotel door, so transportation is convenient. The service attitude at the front desk is also very good. The check-in experience is relatively good. I will come again next time.
My mom highly recommended the Four Seasons Hotel. We originally planned to stay there for one night, but the experience was truly amazing! The room layout was spacious and comfortable! The bed was also comfy! Best of all… if you order takeout from Changqing Building, it arrives in five minutes! Sukisuki!

Shanghai Hotels Booking Tips
Book early (3-6 months in advance) for busy periods like National Day (1-7 Oct) or May Day holidays (1-5 May), or major China holidays.
Check trade fairs & events dates: Big trade shows (e.g. China Import Expo in November, Auto Shanghai in April), which can lead to higher prices and lower supply.

Stay smart: Try areas like Jing’an or Xujiahui - they're easily accessible via Metro Lines 1/2/10, but cheaper than the Bund, Nanjing Road, or Lujiazui.

2208906****Very good experience. There is no photo taken, and the photos introduced on the page basically match.
The boss is very enthusiastic. He has been confirming all kinds of things before check-in. If he encounters problems when he checks in, the phone is connected in time to solve them in time.
The villa is located in the farmhouse homestead, there is a separate yard, the door is closed and the privacy is very good. The yard can be parked for 3 cars.
Ping-pong pool in the yard, you can also kick balls and play badminton.
1st floor: mahjong room/ arcade/ theater/ table/ kitchen - kitchen utensils and tableware
2nd floor: KTV/3 suite---KTV room is very soundproof, and the Quku is rich.
3rd floor: Room X.
At this price, all these entertainment activities should be worth all 5 stars. After all, this is a homestay for a group of people to entertain, and cannot compare him with star hotels.
After all, the kids had a great time.
GGuest UserWhen I came to Haichang, I chose this hotel. It exceeded my expectations. The room was clean, the service was thoughtful, the breakfast was OK, and the price/performance ratio was very high. I will choose this hotel again when I come to Shanghai next time.
AAnonymous UserReally plant grass love love Jinhui this e-sports hotel how can so cool! Computer configuration graphics card 4070S, there are professional e-sports seats, mouse keyboard monitors and headphones are super smooth, and you can go to bed to sleep when you are tired and you don’t have to lie on the table anymore. The main price is also very high. You can make an appointment with a brother to come out and open it!
MM4381****Relatively speaking, the hotel is very clean and tidy, and the service is also very enthusiastic. The only problem is that the pillows are too low. There are only 2 low pillows. It would be better if 2 high pillows could be added. I didn't sleep well after staying for two nights. 😂
GGuest UserWushili is a homestay that I want to stay in again. The environment is quiet, the place is open, the lighting is good, the sun is in a daze, the hair dryer is still Dyson's, I like it. There is also an grandmother's house next to the homestay. I planted a lot of vegetables and peach trees. When the spring flowers bloom, I went to see the peach blossoms. When I left, I bought a lot of Grandma's dishes, all organic dishes. I came back and fried a stew. Sweet and soft. The coffee bar and the housekeeper are very friendly, and the coffee is absolutely delicious.
MMantoupaozaixifanliThe hotel room facilities are good, with everything that should be there. The smoking area outside is also very beautiful. The breakfast in the morning is very good, it is self-service, and there are freshly made noodles to eat. If you are thirsty, you can go downstairs at any time to have some drinks and fruits, which are all included in the hotel package. Why the deduction? Like many reviews wrote, the water in the pool here is really too hot. It is the hottest of all the hot springs in Shanghai that I have been to. It feels too hot. I saw that several children could hardly soak in the water for a while. I don’t know why so many people complained. I saw that the management was still saying in the comments that it met the hot spring temperature requirements. What they said is that your water is too hot, and they are giving you suggestions. Everyone in the hot spring said that the water was hot, not that you violated any regulations... It takes talent to reply like this
YYuanxixingThe boss's service attitude is very good, the room is too bad, the air conditioner is still leaking,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
AAnonymous UserThe room was a bit dirty, the screens were broken, and I had lived on the road before and it was very noisy to sleep. This time I chose a room by the river, the wind at night
Very large, the window leaks and cannot be locked. The soundproofing of the room is not good, and the bath next door is clear. As this price, others can accept it, but the hygiene is a bit poor
GGuest UserA hotel for 10 years, just a few reviews, at first glance, I will not brush the praise store. I live in a single room, I will give you a single room. Although the room is not big, there is a separate bathroom, there are windows and TV air conditioning. The sparrow is small and complete. Yes, it meets my requirements for a single room in the hotel. Health is not bad, the price is reasonable.
The brother at the front desk was very enthusiastic and helped me with the suitcase. The room was very clean and really clean! Even the bathroom was cleaned, and there was no smell in the room, and it was fragrant. Except that the quilt and pillow are a bit old (but very clean), there is no problem, stayed for four days! really good! ! Others come to clean every day, which many hotels can't do.
